I had seen reviews of Henrietta's and wanted to check it out for myself. I really wasn't disappointed. The food alone was so flavoursome and delicious! Plus the cocktails were delightful. I would highly recommend.

Inviting, friendly and sincerely attentive staff make this boutique hotel and its restaurant a must.
The menu changes regularly and the team at the Henrietta quite obviously take great pride & joy in presenting their offering and ensuring that you enjoy the experience to the most. A varied, comprehensive wine and cocktail list pair perfectly with locally sourced ingredients and the passion that is clearly evident in the culinary offerings.
Do yourself a favor and go. Now.

Fabulous restaurant. Super food. Excellent vibe, attentive staff and good playlist. Started with cocktails at the bar and then sharing plates for the meal. Slightly confusing wine list but helpful sommelier. Sensibly priced food. Will return.

Good food spoiled by the tapas model. It all tastes great, and is beautifully served, but the portions are very small. It would make a perfect tasting menu. What they encourage you to do instead is to share everything, even the dishes that were never designed to be shared (try sharing a single octopus tentacle coming with just a teaspoonful of a smart sauce, or a single grilled mackerel, between 3 or 4 people). And the food comes all at once so you never have a chance to taste any dish properly on its own.

If you want to enjoy this place, don't share. Order 3-5 items (one from each section of the menu plus a dessert), and ask to cook everything in sequence. And be prepared to spend about £60 per person sans alcohol.

We went to Henrietta Bistrot for the first time and really enjoyed the creativity of the food and the freshness of the ingredients. The menu brings some classic dishes from the Basque Country in the form of tapas which is great for sharing with friends/family. The pastis was very good but I was a bit disappointed that there was no Basque cider on the drink list (maybe in the future?). Finally we didn't have any dessert i was surprised not to find any Gateau Basque or Ossau Iraty with Black Cherry jam, which are very traditional from the area. I didn't understand why there was a Corsican cheese with walnut instead. My friends were very impressed but coming from the area, I was hoping to show them more traditional dishes.

We went to Henrietta during their first week of re-opening. and then again the following week and we felt we had not tried the whole menu! Great venue with trendy bar (lots of interesting gins), we recognised some of the great dishes from the Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels... the Octopus was fabulous, the Cote de Boeuf to die for, amazing foie gras and plenty of adventurous wines to match the menu. The staff was very attentionate and we truly enjoyed sitting by the kitchen chatting to the chef about his new menu. A very special evening!
Looking forward to coming back.

We came for a pre-theatre dinner at 5:45pm and confirmed our 7:30pm show time with the waitress upon arrival. At 7pm our entrees still had not arrived and it was obvious the order was either never put in or the kitchen somehow didn’t receive it. Our food was rushed out at 7:10pm and we had 5 minutes to eat. Instead of doing the right thing and not charging us for any of the meal, they thought bringing out a free glass of wine at 7:10pm and taking only the beverages off the bill would make up for the disastrous service. Truly a nightmare, and a very expensive one.

My wife’s meat was significantly undercooked and when told about it, they told us that was how they serve pork, I was able to point out that wasn’t true since I had gotten the same thing. Waitress stored our bottle of wine across the room and when we asked for more, she poured only one glass and said she shouldn’t pour since the sommelier was supposed to do that. If only one person can pour the wine, why leave it across the room?

While visiting London, we wanted to go somewhere beyond the usual places recommended for tourists, and a local friend suggested Henrietta. We were not disappointed! It is a lovely, cozy spot, tucked away on a small street very close to the theaters. From the moment we walked in we were treated like old friends by the bartender Nicholas, and the rest of the staff. The drink menu is creative and fun, and the dinner menu, while small, was full of good choices. Being from the US, we were not as familiar with some of the ingredients on the menu, and our waitress was very sweet and patient with us, knowledgeably walking us through the menu. I must mention that during our visit to London, we have done extensive research on where to find the best chips in London, and Henrietta’s chips are by far the yummiest we found! The steak was cooked to perfection, and seasoned beautifully; the boneless quail dish delicious! We will come back to London just to go back to Henrietta’s.

We wanted to like this new restaurant from Ollie Dabbous but there were so many things wrong. It is possibly the most uncomfortable place we’ve ever eaten in..weird seats and irregular shaped tables so it there was no way to get comfortable and relax. The music was more suitable for a bar than a restaurant. The waiting staff were poorly briefed and amateurish. One dish was a real error: smoked eel is not improved by the addition of smoked broth . The veal and quail were tasty but not outstanding and the veal would have been better cooked in a pan not sous vide. Although puntarella is expensive just giving 3 stalks felt mean. We couldn’t face sitting longer so no dessert. Thought about cheese but the waitress didn’t know what they had and came back with a scribbled list she handed to us to read.

Nice Rebecca cocktail but the gin martini was average. Wine list was extraordinary: few bottles under £50, lots in the £100+ territory. Very keen sommelier who we felt would try to sell the expensive stuff. Who on earth do they think will buy it?

What a shame.

The over-friendly service felt contrived and fake. It made us both feel uncomfortable. The food was pleasant enough, although not remarkable. The cocktails were good, as you'd expect. The bill was an unpleasant surprise: it was £120 per head for two courses (starter and main), two cocktails and a bottle of their "reasonably priced" wine. I won't be going back as there a plenty of alternatives where you can get genuine service which makes you feel comfortable plus better food for half the price.

Well, I had lunch with a friend who is often abroad. We had lunch, which means we had just a small sample of the menu, so bear that in mind. Henrietta's is surrounded by a couple dozen restaurants, some of which are outstanding. It comes out well in comparison, not too expensive, with good food and service. I like the informal atmosphere, the wide range of other types of people who eat there, and the pleasant staff.

We had a broth to start, which was extremely good. Fresh and interesting. We changed tack for the second course with what is described as a flatbread with topping. The toppings were pretty good, but I don't regard pizza dough as flatbread. If a restaurant offers a flatbread I expect it to be a middle east-type unleavened flatbread. This issue of menu description often comes up, doesn't it? How often one has to ask what a word means. Anyway, I rate that dish as OK-ish. Last course was a sweet. We each had a really delicious ice-cream-type dish.

Wine: we each had a glass of gruner veltliner. This is typically grown in Austria and a few other places. This one was too sweet for the food, so we followed with a second glass of a more standard sauvignon blanc. An uninspired choice of wine, but if you get stuck into a restaurant wine list you can easily spend painfully on wines to match in quality the food you are eating. I regard that as the #1 problem eating out in the UK. We have such good chefs now, and it's wonderful to see their ideas on the plate. I can't say Henrietta's is out of line in its wine prices. I can say that to match its food we would have had to spend much more on the wine. That's a lesson for us, and maybe for them, too!

Delicious lunch with excellent value set menu. the set menu was really varied and had creative vegetarian option as well as meat and fish.

I chose the eel followed by the gurnard . The eel was absolutely incredible - one of the best starters I've ever had - the eel sweet with the pickled ribbons of crunchy daikon and charred sweet pickled cucumber and a delicious broth with red umami sauce. The Gurnard was incredible as well with a crunchy skin and delicious tarama sauce.

Staff were lovely and attentive without us feeling hassled and the space is beautifully light and relaxed with lovely seating.

Definitely recommend this place for lunch, and look forward to hopefully coming for dinner in the future.

We went to Henrietta for our anniversary. It’s a lovely space with great service. The cocktails were excellent.

Unfortunately despite it being a weekend evening we had the place pretty much to ourselves which always makes the atmosphere a bit muted.

The food was very good but the extortionate prices make you judge it in comparison to London’s very top restaurants and purely by those standards it was neither creative or extraordinary enough to justify it. Most dishes should be literally half the the price and customers would come back again and again.

As it was, for that sort of money there are far more special places to eat in the capital.

From start to finish a very bland abd disappointing experience. Service was, although friendly, extremely poor and u professional, much more interest in taking selfies with girls at the bar than attending to customers. The food, althou cooked well was simply bland, boring, uninspiring but also hideously over priced. Expectations were obviously raised as the restaurant has sung about ollie dabbous input but if I was ollie I would be requesting Henrietta to remove my good name before its tarnished beyond belief. If you are dining here expecting an interesting, creative menu by one of londons best chefs, you will be hugely disappointed. The restaurant itself is decorated well and quite pretty, shame the furniture is completely impractical to dine from, its been set up as though expecting to fail and then turn it into a predominantly drinking venue.

The ambiance was great - unobtrusive music and attentive service. Though we waited a while for a drink, and then couldn’t see the sommelier again to ask a question about the wine.
In general it was a bit disappointing evening though - the food was light and a bit flat in terms of taste.
All in all, we felt what we got was a bit mean for the price and in the end couldn’t face paying another £50 for more wine and pudding so went elsewhere.
