Really lovely place the food is amazing but a very relaxed reasonably priced place
Excellent meal food was amazing and staff were best we’ve had in a long time thoroughly enjoyed our evening
Lovely meal in pleasant surroundings. Good food although service was slow to clear table & serve dessert.
Another lovely evening, food never disappointing and excellent service
We had an excellent meal in very pleasant surroundings, our server Jonnie was really polite and looked after our needs,if we were in the area again would not hesitate to go back
Came for a meal to celebrate our First Wedding anniversary after getting married at Kings Croft in 2018. We were provided with a glass of fizz to celebrate which was a lovely gesture and the food was amazing. Will definitely be back for more food and celebrations
Great food, service once again. Thanks to the staff
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit the only downside I have is when using your website to book my afternoon tea it did not log this at your side and it was thought that we were having a full meal, your staff were very accommodating and sorted this out, so maybe you need to look at your booking online
Despite booking a table using this app and arriving 10 minutes early we were kept waiting 20 minutes (10 minutes beyond the reserved time) No apology or explanation. We were then sat in what must be the most undesirable table in the corner near where the queue would start for the buffet. At times there was a considerable queue with people knocking both us and the table. Sadly as is all too often the case with buffets the food is overcooked and this included the roast beef that was dry to the point of grainy. The mashed potato was the high point as I'd guess it had been riced and was lovely and smooth. The starter which I'd chose Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy actually arrived as 3 small Yorkshires as available on the buffet, so I could have do it myself at no charge. At no point were we asked if everything was Ok or if we'd enjoyed the meal. I could have complained at the time but frankly l don't think anybody would have been interested. Would I go back, No. Would I recommend it, no.
Service was extremely poor. I've given them one star to be kind! Food was average and I would expect better for the price. I will not be going back.
I booked on spare of moment and had no problems at all . We had never eaten here before and found the restaurant lovely and inviting . The staff were excellent , friendly and attentive but professional in their service . The meal all arrived at the same time and was excellent . Large portions and excellently presented. I would definitely return in the future and I will be recommending to friends and family.
W e had the 3 course set lunch and all 3 courses were great, presentation of the food was fab , really enjoyed will be going again soon x
We have used This venue for extended family meals on several occasions and it’s always been great value and good service
Always lovely food a friendly service. Regularly go for both Sunday lunch and Tuesdays steak night.
Booked afternoon tea on line but the booking process messed up and only booked a table. Arrived at the allocated time to be told I hadn't booked afternoon tea!!! Chef explained this keeps happening with web bookings..maybe sort out your booking system then! The kitchen staff cobbled together what they could for our afternoon tea but not what I was expecting. Ruined the occassion (wifes birthday) even though we were given a complimentary glass of sparkling wine (not very nice). My wife asked for Earl Grey tea and was served some kind of fruit tea but by that time we were fed up with the whole thing and she just drank that. Overall food was nice, venue quiet and easy parking. If you book online make sure the confirmation states afternoon tea.
It was beautiful food value for money looking forward to going for early Xmas lunch
Excellent food and service, highly recommended, the lunchtime menu is amazing value
Expensive but worth it, lovely food, great service. We got married at the hotel last year and came back yesterday for an anniversary meal, will be coming back every year. We just love it
Lovely Venue, great afternoon tea and service. Lovely afternoon
We have been several times and always enjoyed the food, service and surroundings.Lovely grounds and good parking.
Really lovely food and service; special mention to Arthur who was chatty, friendly and really helpful
Beautifully dressed, good service, amazing food. Definitely recommend! And will be coming back :)
The staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. We had afternoon tea which was delicious and a lovely variety of treats.
After getting married at Kings Croft it already holds a special place in my heart and I love to go back and see how it's changed and just experience the venue all over again. I booked the carvery as a treat for my husband and mum. The service was brilliant, the food was delicious, by far the best carvery I've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend.
Great food and service. The menu is varied at there is something for all tastes. Surroundings lovely and grounds well kept - lovely evening
I visited for a working lunch with external colleague's and was not disappointed. The food was very good indeed, and as it was quite, it didn't take long at all for it to come out from the kitchen. We enjoyed it so much we plan to visit again at our next meeting later in the year. There is also a lovely view from the dinning room if you are lucky enough to have a window seat.
The venue was excellent, decor was lovely & set for a great atmosphere. The service was outstanding and the food simply delicious. I would highly recommend.
The carvery is always good, but Sunday last was exceptionally quiet which made it even better.
A little expensive but food and atmosphere very nice so worth it overall.
Even though food was nice menu was poor but much choice on menu to pick from
Booked an early evening meal for our anniversary, both working next day with early starts. When we arrived there looked to be a school prom in the main building. Directed to park in a muddy field and not too the car park which I wasn't impressed with. We were the only two people in the restaurant initially, but the sirloin steaks we ordered, one rare, one blue were horrendously overdone. It couldn't be down to a busy kitchen. Sent both back, the replacements weren't that much better, the blue being more towards medium rare than rare and the rare very similarly cooked. We have eaten a few times here and one of the reasons for the choice of this visit was we have previously enjoyed the steaks. Hopefully just an off night for the chef, we will return but probably not until the disappointment of this meal wears off.
Food - poor would not recommend or return., service not bad.
The main issue was with wheelchair access. We had to get my mum out of her wheelchair a couple of times as there were lips in doorways that the chair couldn't get over. This is very difficult to do. Service was a bit slow, although friendly, and some of the veg was undercooked.
Lovely carvery as usual. Great service and surroundings. Just was a little hot in the restaurant!
Totally recommend the lunch time deal. Been many times, lovely food and good service. Courtney the waitress can’t do enough for you.
First time I have been and I would defo visit again great food and staff
