Here and Now

I ate on the patio later in the evening, during COVID restrictions. I had a really good meal with a drink, with decent service. Glad I went.

I'm glad I found this place. The cocktails were excellent, as well as the nice and friendly service. Their back patio was quite cozy. Looking forward to going back.

Don’t recommend unless you really need a place with free parking

Great place for casual dining, great drinks and a small menu but tasty. Not a place to go for the food if you’re looking for something different. This is health conscious bar food. We had dinner and drinks and a nice ambiance in the back of the bar, private and with a fire pit. We would go again as a drinks night, not so much dining.

The staff was absolutely great!! And given that we dined outside on the sidewalk - it was a super dope experience!

The drinks are good and the food is unique the service is alright but they could be A little more interested in how the customers want to pay... I’ll definitely go again!

We came late night on July 4th for outside seating. The lovely person with ombre/highlighted curls (shoulda caught their name!) who served us was so helpful and kind. The frozen drinks she recommended were perfect for the hot night and they even gave us sparklers to go for us to celebrate on our own!

Great for covid friendly eating –– Temperature check when entering, outdoor seating with plenty of space in between others, covered drinks until poured at your table, thorough disinfecting after table is used.

I love everything about this bar - the drink menu is brilliantly crafted, the bartenders make you feel like an old friend if you’ve been more than once, and when they do special events they really go all out. I had the fried Brussels sprouts, the cosmo is dead, and the maestra. The only danger is the temptation to sample as much of the menu as you possibly can

Went to the Christmas pop up and it was so fun, we went in our onesies and watched Christmas Vacation while sipping on tasty Christmas themed drinks with fun drink names like th spiked eggnog named "Buzz your girlfriend, woof!" So fun!

Blitzen was a great experience. Best eggnog I've had before. Every drink was fantastic, the food did a good job, and the atmosphere was fun. A little loud but that's the nature of the bar, and after your first "best holiday drink I've ever had" you won't even notice. Definitely recommended.

We had a reservation but had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. The food was bland, our baked brie was barely baked, the latkes were unseasoned and the cocktail I had was disgusting and I had to switch to wine.

The Blitzen's Holiday pop-up is the best! We had so much fun. They do the place up nice and Christmas-y, and they have special food and themed cocktails, like "You'll Shoot Your Rye Out" and "Gin-gle All The Way". The matzoh ball soup, served in a cocktail glass, was to die for. We loved all the cocktails we tried, it's hard to single out one. It's only happening until the end of December, you should go while you can.

Holiday pop up

The holiday pop-up was not great. The decor was lacking, the servers were either drunk or just not into it and the food (which they forgot to put the turkey on our thanksgiving poutine) was just alright. Not the holiday experience I was looking for. Don't waste your money or time.

I mean, if you’re going for the food and drinks, which is basically the sole purpose of a bar/restaurant, don’t go. If you’re going for the atmosphere, it’s nice and spirited.

For Blitzen’s, they offer half a cup of mulled wine for full price. Five pigs and a blanket on a platter for something like $13. Poutine fries were not good and only had a little sauce. Overall, on the disappointing side compared to other holiday bars. Only good thing is that it’s for charity. Would not recommend for food or drinks. Okay service.

We had braised meatball's, fall couscous salad, and the here and now burger. It was all very tasty! We also had the maid me do it and another drink 😂 they were also all very good!
Fun discovery

This place was so great! We went for the Christmas In July themed week, and had an amazing time. The holiday drinks were so tasty and perfectly crafted, and ordered the Panchetta and Chicken sandwich from the holiday menu as well. Both were great, though the sandwich was smaller than we'd thought it would be. Very savory, something to enjoy every bite of. It was, however, somewhat pricey - Our half of the check was $112 and covered two people: it included 2 holiday drinks each, our entrees, and half of the appetizer wings (shared between us and another couple). Lovely place, and great vibe inside, but more of a special occasion place than a casual weeknight dinner.

Small menu, overpriced drinks, loud music made this a disappointing experience. No need to return.

I don’t know why this place is on open table, it’s a bar not a restaurant. We went to order food and the staff told us we could only two items off the menu since they ran out of food. We were really disappointed and also felt like the bartender was drunk. We ordered a drink, which was good thankfully. I would just avoid this place unless you’re looking for a bar.

The limited menu was just okay. Bruschetta was fine, couscous salad was good, but the fried chicken sandwich lacked character. Good cocktails, and that's what it seems to be popular for... Kitchen didn't live up to the bartending.

Went here for some business drinks and it was amazing! There was also a birthday party in the back at the same time and they were having an awesome time too! Can’t wait to go back!

Fabulous DTLA bar with innovative cocktails and comfort food. A must with easy parking and quick access to the freeway! Love it!

Small, cozy bar that has a cool, retro vibe. Great cocktails and a small menu of snacks and bar food. Really nice experience.

Wait staff took so long and it was so loud that we couldn’t talk, so we left and went somewhere else.

So much fun for the holiday pop up. Definitely needed a reservation though.

Great Blitzen holiday pop-up. Very festive decor, good music soundtrack (not annoyingly Christmasy) and super wait-staff. Booths only seat four, so it’s tough to have a larger gathering. Noise level almost problematic, but not as bad as many DTLA places. Free parking a BIB bonus!
