Amazing place and kitchen. True gem in LB. Must visit! Feels like Michelin spot.
This is an excellent restaurant. I have enjoyed the chef?owner's cooking at Fundamental in the past . They are just getting started with a limited menu but have tried everything between sharing with my wife and a group of four. Every single dish was exquisite. Excellent food and innovative preparations which he modifies frequently. It is simple but very attractive. This is a diamond in the rough.
We are returning with new friends in 3 weeks.
This place is a hidden gem in Long Beach! I love the fine dining food in a laid back environment. Let the food speak for itself! Presentation and food was on point. Definitely taking friends there!
Quite a surprise. First time there we will return.
Excellent experience! Definitely recommend for others to check this spot out for any occasion!
Fantastic dining experience! They accommodated my food allergies with ease! I’ll be back again and again
We found our new favorite place in Long Beach! Food was amazing, service was great and loved the ambiance.
Amazing new gem! I couldn't get enough of the flavors. I wanted more of everything, but also wanted to wait for our next entre. I can't wait to go again!
Love the creativity and innovation of this restaurant and the food was delicious and the service terrific. The menu is a bit sparse and could use a few more items especially some greens or side dishes or even a chef inspired special. The pre fixe menu could maybe include an extra course to make it a better deal than ordering al la carte. The corn pavlova dessert was outstanding. I admire and want to support local upscale restaurants like this one. We will be back.
This restaraunt offered amazing food and excellent service.
Almost ate everything on the menu, every item is absolutely cohesive and delicious.
Wonderful meal and service. Prices reasonable for food quality.
Quaint vintage craftsman house on a corner turned into a homey, friendly little restaurant. Open kitchen into the dining area so you can watch the magic as it happens.
While the menu is very limited in terms of choices, the food itself was of excellent quality and truly delicious. We were a party of four, and each got the three-course prix fix meal. We had three of the four appetizers- beet salad, asparagus with a coddled egg, and grilled octopus and chorizo (we did not order the pork belly, but a neighboring table did and said it was terrific). All were great, although the portion of octopus was rather small. For mains, we again had three of the four offerings- hangar steak, bbq duck and scallops (we did not order the tortellini). Again, all were excellent! Would order any of the three again in an instant.
Beer and wine (and wine-based cocktails) only.
Beautifully prepared farm to table fine dining. What a fantastic find! We ordered the 3-course tasting menu for $45 each and shared 6 different dishes. Although it's a small menu, there was more than enough variety to select from in each course. The restaurant has a liquor license and we ordered wine and a cocktail. Every plate was a work of art as well as a culinary adventure with unique flavor combinations. The ingredients are carefully selected for quality and freshness. We were told the restaurant sources its produce from the Santa Monica Farmers' Market and the restaurant's own garden. We started with the roasted beets and the asparagus appetizers; our mains were hangar steak and scallops; and for dessert, gouda cheese and Sweet Corn Pavlova. Each dish was yummy and we are looking forward to trying the dishes we missed in the future. We liked dining outside, however, for a quieter dinner, the indoor space has well-separated tables and a nice ambience. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys discovering new flavor combinations and fine dining for a very reasonable price. We look forward to returning soon.
"We have to cook the steak rare, because the slices are small, and would shrink and be too small, if we did them medium well." LOL...most original reply I've ever received from a server (although once, in Boston, a waitress told me I couldn't have pepper on my salad because the "pepper mill broke"). High quality ingredients, but fussy/elaborate preparations/presentations, not always with the flavor profile correctly thought out. E.g., why serve roasted beets--a rare preparation which I like a lot--with a pickled beet puree, which then overwhelmed the unseasoned, roasted part, and turned the dish into just a very elaborate version of pickled beets?! Except for a huge, fermented piece of cabbage with my steak (I did, ultimately, get it medium well), even mains were appetizer size.
This venue is a cute house converted into a restaurant – very homey feel. The food had small portions, but it was of superior quality. They have two parking spots in the back, so be sure to snag those if you can. The menu is also smaller than what is published on Open Table. I get the sense this is because they have seasonal items. Overall, it was a very nice restaurant with a nice mix of and upscale and casual farm-to-table vibe.
Celebrated our anniversary with Heritage. Asparagus, Octopus, and Pork Belly we're delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Scallops and Duck. Sweet Corn Pavlova was delicious and truly unique. Well done! We'll definitely be back!
Amazing food, intimate setting, great experience.
Absolutely the best meal I've ever had in Long Beach. Modern, seasonal, intentional and delicious. Heritage has not gotten enough credit.
One of the best meals I've ever had in Long Beach. Everything was amazing quality, the service was great, and the location though small, is urban and charming. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fine dinning in a casual setting. This place is a treasure!
My wife and I heard about this new place near our home. We both had the 3 course menu and shared everything,. It was truly excellent. The service was also very good.
Great new restaurant that is already providing some of the best elevated cuisine in Long Beach. Heritage will likely improve even more as it grows from a new restaurant to an established dining location.
Great new spot in LongBeach. Every dish was incredible. Go now before they get so popular you’ll never get in
Amazing. Just simply amazing. My wife and I each got one of the courses they offer to be able to sample as many dishes as possible. The pasta with the Parmesan emulsion was out of this world as were the scallops. The octopus was incredibly tender. Easily one of my top 3 memorable dining experiences.
We saw an article in Eater that featured the chef of this new restaurant. We couldn't be happier with our decision to stop in for dinner. The menu is small because all of the food is crafted perfectly. The open kitchen had us so close to the chef that we were able to chat with him as he prepared our meal. The level of care put into crafting this outstanding example of elevated cuisine can't be overstated. This restaurant is an absolute gem. We can't wait to go back. Heritage is everything you want in a casual fine dining experience. Stunning food that is fresh and intriguing. The environment was modern yet cozy. With the menu and chef they have at the helm, Heritage could easily charge more for their food. Don't be fooled by the prices. Do yourself a favor and book a table immediately, you will be glad you did!
Had 4 dishes all were excellent!
An interesting farm to table menu with fabulous presentation!
