While Hide had an aesthetically pleasing interior design, I don't think the food was extremely worth it. The tea sandwiches were ok but the cheese/chutney one was too overpowering. The floss was okay as well, did not find it so unique. The scones were definitely the highlight of the meal with the clotted cream and the strawberry/hibiscus jam (although you couldn't taste the hibiscus at all). I was disappointed that the tea kettle didn't keep my tea warm and also was not informed of refills for the tea until the meal was complete.
Staff were great. Food was exceptional. Love having a charger in the table drawer. Can't wait to go back.
Great food. Great atmosphere and made the extra effort for my other halves birthday
Really cozy and nice place to hang out with friends.
I liked the decor, especially the downstairs bar and the staircase. The food was pretty uninspiring, somewhat bland and excessively expensive. I also left hungry. The cheapest bottle of red was £47.50 not including tip of course. Service was good. Overall it hurt to eat here due to the unjustifiable prices. One to avoid. There are far better places in the area.
Full of aesthetic that makes me relaxed and inspired. Pleased
We had a lunch table for three persons in 12/5/19… and we choose the “lunch set menu”.
Even the food Presentation was nice, the Dishes were extremely small.
The sauce of the chilled asparagus was thin and not tasty.
The roasted chicken was Insipid.
And… The restaurant charges us extra 12 pounds for bread and butter !!!
In conclusion - the set menu package in HIDE GROUND was disappointing (Compared to other lunch menus in London we tried).
The service received was very good, however our table was placed next to where the dumb waiter was and at times we were sat next to 8-10 staff which kept regularly happening.
The wine we wanted to order was not available and we were only told 30 mins after ordering this and the replacement bottle arrived 20 minutes after our main course had been delivered. Not ideal.
Thanks a lot, guys! It’s a very atmospheric place with welcoming friendly staff and unforgettable cuisine. I cannot say what exactly impressed me most. The decoration, service, food (of course! and comfort - everything could have been expressed by only one word - quality. A high quality place for any occasion. It is definitely created by loving people with great passion and care about customers.
I am not keen on restaurants where you pay a lot for leaving hungry. Never again.
very good carefully prepared tasty food. Enjoyable and casual atmosphere. Great for a business lunch or stop off from sightseeing.
Set menu was a bit lacking for vegetarian option .... starter had ricotta and main had ricotta so opted for a la carte.
No vegan option on set lunch menu.
Great restaurant for gourmet food with clever plating presentation. Not your typical “stuffy” high end restaurant. Noise level is low and allows for conversation in a normal voice. Good service.
What a beautiful experience. Amazing service and ambience. Loved every minute of it especially the drinks to finish off the evening. Definitely recommend.
Modern, innovative, forward looking cuisine. Bread cooked in the premises. Quick and efficient service. Modern, pleasant surroundings. Must visit.
Amazing food and whine! The service is outstanding
It was a realy nice dinner in London. We are two foodies from Sweden and always look after the best in every city We visit and this time in London We find Hide and it was amazing. Everything was perfect. The winelist was something extra. Next time in London We gona try the breakfast.
Fantastic atmosphere and food is really delicious, small portions as I like))) you can try few dishes and not to be full or have any waste!
Love coming back
Generally speaking, HIDE ground is a good restaurant, nice designed with a good atmosphere and service, but the food is quite simply. We tried several starters, the pasta, the lamb and the soup as main dishes - didn’t like any of these. The desserts are not bad, but not awesome as you wish them to be. Moreover, all main dishes are quite overpriced. We payed 245 pound for a dinner for three people with a bottle of wine for 45 pounds.
Fab food but after finishing an expensive bottle of wine and ordering another we were told they had no more we should have been made aware there was only one bottle when we ordered
Perfect gourmet along with good service and elegant environment.
this is one of my favourite places in London to bring guests for breakfast, especially if they have well-behaved children. the food is outstanding and the service is very accommodating. dinner service is wonderful as well, though more formal
It is my the most favorite place in London
It was amazing
Overall experience was very good, but I can’t say it was excellent though. My almond milk curled up in my cup of a very fancy coffee and the waitress tried to convince me, quite defensively, that it’s supposed to be this way and it always happens. Nevermind, it got changed afterwards anyway. The eggs royal and benedict were good, was expecting more from that banana bread that is baked before serving apperantly. The highlight was the cinnamon bun! But it is strictly my opinion as I have a sweet tooth. The interior is lovely and the staircase is a masterpiece no doubt. Would probably try a tasting menu to have a real Michelin star feel of this place
Amazing waitstaff, wonderful and inventive food, beautiful decor
Service was perfect and we all had a wonderful time.
Very classy restaurant with amazing food and service
Very good at catering for allergies
Great place for dinner in the heart of Mayfair, nice and cozy bar downstairs, lift with a secret floor )
Was there for lunch. Didn’t like the menu much. And food doesn’t worth the price you are paying
The promised beautiful views of Green Park were masked by major hoardings across the frontage of the restaurant . The quiet , discreet table I’d asked for was right next to the waiting staff serving station so it was busy and there were frequent distractions .
The food is beautiful and refined (and therefore small portions) but incredibly expensive compared to other similarly cheffy alternatives in town. The bread was probably the highlight.
I have to say I was really dissapointed and wouldn’t choose to visit again. It’s a shame because I supply recommendations to others and this wouldn’t be one.
Absolutely impeccable service. Every course was surprising and fresh and delicious. The best dining experience we had in London by far. Elegant, refined but unpretentious. Warm, inviting, with beautiful rustic touches. If this is the future of London dining it could become one of the world’s great culinary cities.
Came for breakfast, liked everything. Service, ambiance and pretty much everything you can think of is thought through but feels relaxed and accommodating at the same time. Food for breakfast is good, but pastry deserves a separate mention, very well crafted.
Very high quality food with great service. Not amazing ambience however it was midweek mid morning breakfast. Expensive but fairly priced for the area and quality.
Excellent food and service. A little expensive. Very good overall.
This place is fantastic! We arrived early with enough time to go to the bar. Drinks not only looked great, but tasted great as well. The restaurant is beautiful with an earthy feel. They have over 30,000 bottles of wine and the sommelier really knows his stuff. Great recommendation on the wine, was perfect. The staff was professional and highly attentive and fun! The food was outstanding, so creative, highly intelligent cooking. We ordered the breads and charcuterie to start, wonderful. My husband had the onion soup (in an onion), nice! I got the beet root salad - so fresh and clean. For the main we ordered the pork - cooked to perfection. For dessert you must order the acorn cake. Overall, a wonderful evening, really made our last night in London super special. Thank you to the team at Hide for the experience!
Wonderfull - we loved it <3 we’re coming back ♥️
Breakfast at Hide Ground was spectacular. Simple dish yet they were able to elevate the taste and presentation of their food. The pastry selections are great and unique. Would highly recommend it and would definitely come back for breakfast again and look forward to try their lunch/dinner!
On the basis of a normal restaurant, this was outstanding. On the basis of a michelin star restaurant, this was good. The interior is very nice and the food is very good, but not outstanding, I didn't feel "wow" when eating the set lunch menu. It was far from being bad, but there wasn't a "wow" factor that I maybe expected. I would definetly try Hide Above in the future as this was just a quick-ish lunch. The wine list is outstanding. If you're looking for a good lunch set menu in a good environment, I'd recommend Hide Ground.
