This restaurant is a real little gem. The food is superb. I had the eggs florentine and asked for it on sourdough instead of a muffin. The presentation was lovely, and it was delicious. My husband had the Geordie bap with bacon and black pudding, and my son had pancakes with banana and Nutella. All were superb and plates were cleaned. The staff are very pleasant and my only negative would be the amount of time it takes to get the bill at the end!!

Great atmosphere and lovely food. Good selection for meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians for all three courses.

Fantastic evening at Hinnies for valentine's. Special valentine's menu was available but we ordered from the every day menu. Pastrami starter was delicious, not normally something I would get but so glad I did. I had the chicken which I thoroughly enjoyed and a sticky toffee pudding for after. Restaurant had a nice relaxed feel, definitely somewhere I will visit again.

This was our second visit and on both occasions found the food to be absolutely excellent and the flavours were amazing. The 3 courses for £19.00 is great value too. The staff are lovely and attentive too. We will be going back shortly.

Lovely food, though I did end up with envy for my partner's dish (mushroom Wellington). Lovely busy place but not too noisy. Service was a bit slow as we probably hit just after the peak but polite. Great value for money.

Informal and welcoming, service with a smile (so rare these days!). Food was delicious - fishcake with refreshing dill tartar for starter and ridiculously tasty roast chicken with peas, cabbage and bacon and potato gratin, every mouthful a pleasure! Nice range of soft drinks for drivers too.

Went to Hinnies on a Saturday night, two couples out for a catch up.
Food was first class.
Two of our party were drinking lager which was sold in small cans and worked out very expensive.
A very large party came in at 8pm and unfortunately spoilt the night for us as they were so noisy we couldn't even talk to each other over it.
Left without having a dessert due to the noise and expensive drinks and finished our night at a local pub.
Would still try this place again as the food was perfect, just went on the wrong night ☹️

Small menu but met our tastes, very focused on vegetarian and GF options with clear guidance. As meat eaters we didn’t need this but felt for those who do or a group of people with diverse needs would probably be well served at this restaurant. I was able to request alternative accompaniments to my fish choice and also to the dessert course. The service was excellent, friendly professional and smiley. Will be back.

I have been to Hinnies a few times in the past, however I found that our evening last Friday was not the usual standard of pretty good! The very basic nibbles menu was disappointing with no flat bread option - something that is quite basis! Our starters were just ok - very bland salad accompanied my crab with no condiments on the table and we weren't offered any either. We waited very long time for our mains too which although were pleasant enough, were not excellent. My husbands venison was a little tough. My desert was nice; tonka bean crème brulee - however my husbands crumble was very underwhelming and he did not eat it - we think it was meant to be Rhubarb but was apple.

A lovely atmosphere and menu. Friendly staff. We have been to Blackfriars a lot and I liked that Hinnie's menu is the same whatever time you go but there are deals available. Big portions so excellent value for money for the lunch deal. We will be back!

We had an evening meal at Hinnies.
Good atmosphere. Warm friendly restaurant.
The starter of mushrooms on toasted garlic sourdough, poached egg and chives was delicious.
The Vension Wellington was also delicious. Tender pinkish meat and very tasty dish.
The roast pheasant breast, spiced lentils and tenderstem was also very good. Although the pheasant taste was lost in the dish with the strong taste of the spiced lentils.
Would definitely eat here again and recommend.

This restaurant is always welcoming and the staff are very engaging and helpful. We brought our 6 month old granddaughter along with us. She has just started eating solid foods and has a severe dairy intolerance. The restaurant were well prepared for dealing with this type of situation which was very reassuring. Another very nice meal and a good time was had by all.

We visited Hinnies last Wednesday for lunch on an extremely cold day , the restaurant was warm and welcoming.
The staff were very attentive and professional , quickly showed us to our table .
The food we ordered was excellent , we both ordered the crab starter , we were not disappointed
In addition the main course was well presented as well as being nice and hot on arrival at our table

The food we very nice and we all enjoyed it. However the staff were not familiar with the dishes and could not answer any questions about them. Ditto with the wine list - zero knowledge. They came across as very inexperienced and disorganised - three different people tried to take the drinks order and then they got it wrong. They really let down what could be a really nice restaurant.

Hinnies is by far the best restaurant I have been to for Sunday dinner in a long time!! The food is absolutely superb, the portions are generous, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.
The 2/3 course option is a great price.
I think my only comment would be that the wine prices are quite high, particularly when buying by the glass.
Other than that, I really can’t fault them, and we will definitely be back on a regular basis.

We were a table of 8, took around 10 minutes for all the meals to reach the table, by which point the 1st 2 served had almost finished. Also ordered 2 side dishes which arrived later still. we tried a range of dishes, most were OK, but nothing special given the price. Although the staff apologised multiple times for the delay, there was no gesture in removing anything from the almost £140 bill. We skipped dessert & had gelato in a nearby ice cream parlour. Overall, really disappointing.

This was my second visit. The first was a 5 out of 5. I had the same brunch as my first visit but this time the muffin was soggy as the spinach hadn't been drained property and the mushrooms were, hmmm, unpleasant. We were the only customers but had to wait 25 minutes for our food. We mentioned the soggy muffin when we paid the bill but the waitress didn't seem interested.
