Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and attentive staff. Would like to see return of wine tasting notes though. A wonderful experience highly recommended
Great value at £19 for 3 courses. Slightly disappointed with the Fish Pie but would return to sample other dishes on the menu.
Lovely setting, lovely staff, vegetarian starter very small and no taste, cauliflour soup watery and tasteless, main fish & chips, chip lovely, fish didn't taste nice and had soggy batter, dessert ginger steamed pudding amazing...
Outstanding food and excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this place.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday afternoon here. The food was excellent and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The venue overlooks the seaside with views of St Marys island and is a few minutes leisurely walk from the Spanish City car park.
Starters amazing Main course description not exact But overall very good. Service great
Love this restaurant and will definitely go again
We were in on Saturday 28th September party of 6, food was great certainly upped their game since the last time I was there, looking forward to returning
Food was delicious but think we went at a busy time as service was slow. It was over an hour to get main. We have been before and it’s not been like this.
Crayfish starter lacking any sauce; just crayfish and lettuce; kipper dish bland.
Fish and chips good; Gravy on lamb hotpot far to strongly seasoned; took away the effect of the excellent lamb. Service good as usual.
We have been quite a few times, and will time and time again, great place, clean and very friendly staff, great value for money, the food outstanding every time we have visited, our new go to place.
We found the restaurant convenient for the location of our accommodation and the food was good.
The wine was expensive in our opinion but apart from that it is worth a visit.
It was quite busy when we went and it was a quiet time of the year, so in the busy season it will be advisable to book a table in advance.
The reason I give no for recommend is that I have learned not to recommend goods and services. We have always had an excellent experience at Hinnies and enjoy eating there
Lovely restaurant and fabulous veggie burger 🍔 staff very friendly and great location
Another great visit. Fantastic food and great service.
Fantastic two course Sunday Lunch. Fresh produce, locally sourced, cooked and presented to the highest quality. Will definitely be returning.
Super little place, food great and service lovely too.
Our first visit to Hinnies for a few months.....loved the new menu and the food was stunning! Attentive staff but not over bearing. Generous portions so be careful what you order! I chose the lamb dish which had four delicious types of lamb. The lamb hotspot was a triumph. How did the chef manage to encapsulate all the elements of a hotpot into a breaded oblong? Amazing.
Lovely Sunday lunch, food is always good here and the staff are very friendly and attentive
Main course was ok, we both had Sunday lunch. At the point of ordering we asked for a side dish of cauliflower cheese, the waiter asked if we’re were sure we wanted to order it as the Sunday dinner already came with cauliflower cheese. However it didn’t, which was a bit of a shame as we really wouldn’t have minded paying for the side dish.
We then ordered the singing hinnies, they were surprisingly poor considering the restaurant is named after them. The hinnies themselves were really tiny and burnt. The waiters were very nice about it and took them off the bill.
All in all it felt like a let down as the restaurant its self is very nice and the staff very nice, just a shame about the food
Most of our party were happy overall. Personally portion was just too large! Smoked salmon in copious amounts but cut thickly which is not to my taste. Belts breakfast was also huge, 4 pieces of toast!! Disappointed with quality of the bacon and no choice given as to the way eggs were cooked . Otherwise ok.
Anniversary meal, so it was a lovely surprise to be given complimentary Prosecco to start with. Followed by a very good meal.
As always this little gem is just the perfect place to relax with friends . Staff very helpful and attentive , service was great .Food amazing (as always ) been coming to Hinnies since it opened and we have never had anything but a great time and perfect food , and friendly staff make it so welcoming .Thank you once again 👍.
Four adults went for a celebration meal to Hinnies restaurant on a Wednesday evening for the early evening dinner rate.
As it wasn’t particularly busy the service was very good in terms of taking orders for drinks and then food.
The starters and the main course arrived in acceptable wait times, however, we did have to wait a while for the desserts but the waiter did come over and apologise and say they wouldn’t be long.
My only gripe is that I would hate to be paying full price for any of the courses. To be paying £19.00 for three courses what we received in size of portion was acceptable but would have been terrible if we had been paying full price.
Slightly disappointed at what appeared to be a smaller menu choice. However, still enjoy this restaurant
and its food so that will not put me off.
A nice Sunday lunch. Trout en croute was delicious as were the singin’ hinnies. Limited choice for Sunday lunch was disappointing (no a la carte). My dining companions roasts were nice but ‘nothing special’ let down I think by the overly chunky cabbage. Nice all in all.
First time for sunday lunch and it was lush. We will be definately be back. The food was delicious and the staff and ambience Brill. Only thing i would add was maybe a little sauce or even a little lemon juice to the crayfish cocktail
Lovely food in a relaxing atmosphere.
An excellent meal with good quality food with Geordie influences. Pleasant staff added to the experience.
Lovely good value food. Lots to choose from , but not overwhelming
This was our 1st visit to Hinnies and will be our last!!Service was so slow that the waitress apologised. Two of the meals we ordered from the menu was not available and even the beer i ordered was not available.Very poor first impression.
Good local food, nicely presents and tasted nice, staff were helpful, décor was a little austere but did not detract from the evening.
Great little place with excellent atmosphere and good food at a decent price.
Had a lovely meal fish pie was superb will be back
We are regulars at Hinnies, but unfortunately our last couple of visits have been very poor. Service from the waitress at our last visit was appalling. She got our food order wrong (fine mistakes happen) but we didnt even get an apology, we were just told, yours will be few minutes and we waiting 20+. There were a few other moments of rudeness/poor service during our meal which make us question whether we will return.
Lovely food, friendly staff. Young children made welcome.
Great quality food as ever. Great value. Thoroughly recommended.
Poor service. Order was taken incorrectly so had to make do with wrong item or wait another 15 mins and then one meal which was supposed to be a curry was very bland. Had good meals before so not sure if it was due to being very busy
I love this restaurant. The food is always lovely and it is very good value. It is relaxed and friendly. Their Sunday lunch is the best I’ve had in a restaurant.
We enjoyed a great lunch at Hinnies. The food was varied, interesting and delicious and great value for money. The service was helpful and efficient and especially supportive of my 95 year old mother in law. Highly recommended
