food tasted lovely! service was a bit slow but I think full and short staffed that evening.
Starters - especially Kipper Pate smallest known to man!

Have eaten there before though and would recommend!

Had a lovely lunch at Hinnies on a busy Saturday. Although there were 8 of us service was quick and the food was delicious. Great value for money and very friendly staff as well. Definitely recommend it and I will be going again soon

A pleasure to eat there. Thankfully they kindly accommodated out late arrival (due to traffic) and the night just got better. Great service, absolutely delish food - great that we could partake of the set menu which was a great price (comfy chair too which makes a difference) - weren't rushed - It was a pleasure and we are so glad we tried Hinnies - and will definitely visit again. Thank you guys, you made our night very enjoyable.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Food was amazing, with my steak cooked to perfection. My husband and son thoroughly enjoyed their burgers too. Great value for money, especially their early dining special deal. The restaurant got a bit busy (for a Tuesday evening) but them ambience was perfect

The sticky toffee pudding is unmissable. The only complaint is that the mince and dumpling portion was very large for most people. Would like to see wine tasting notes too!

Another lovely evening. Thanks

Our second visit (first a year ago). We like the emphasis on regional food and dishes. The 3 courses for £19 offer is excellent value. Food very good with efficient and friendly service. We live about 40 minutes away but will make the effort not to leave it a year before our next visit.

Have visited Hinnies many times and will continue to do so as it is always a restaurant of choice. I never recommend goods and services as I prefer friends to make their own choices.
Our experience on Sun was slightly less good because of problems with another very large party and I do think that the restaurant struggled to cope. This was unfortunate because I think the group concerned were unhappy with their experience.
This will not affect us returning which I am doing next week!

This was our third visit in four weeks so they must be doing something right. Love the winter menu. Enough familiarity but plenty of fresh ideas.

We really enjoyed our evening at Hinnies. We could get a table for 7.15 so we missed the early bird opportunity. The food was really enjoyable only marred by a very long wait it won’t put us off from going again though.

Return visit for hubby’s Birthday with his NE Family. For us it’s a 300 miles round trip but it’s always worth it. Staff are friendly, helpful & polite. Food is delicious & venue has a great atmosphere. Here’s to next time! 🥳

I had a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday afternoon here. The food was excellent and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The venue overlooks the seaside with views of St Marys island and is a few minutes leisurely walk from the Spanish City car park.

Crayfish starter lacking any sauce; just crayfish and lettuce; kipper dish bland.
Fish and chips good; Gravy on lamb hotpot far to strongly seasoned; took away the effect of the excellent lamb. Service good as usual.

We found the restaurant convenient for the location of our accommodation and the food was good.
The wine was expensive in our opinion but apart from that it is worth a visit.
It was quite busy when we went and it was a quiet time of the year, so in the busy season it will be advisable to book a table in advance.

Our first visit to Hinnies for a few months.....loved the new menu and the food was stunning! Attentive staff but not over bearing. Generous portions so be careful what you order! I chose the lamb dish which had four delicious types of lamb. The lamb hotspot was a triumph. How did the chef manage to encapsulate all the elements of a hotpot into a breaded oblong? Amazing.

Main course was ok, we both had Sunday lunch. At the point of ordering we asked for a side dish of cauliflower cheese, the waiter asked if we’re were sure we wanted to order it as the Sunday dinner already came with cauliflower cheese. However it didn’t, which was a bit of a shame as we really wouldn’t have minded paying for the side dish.

We then ordered the singing hinnies, they were surprisingly poor considering the restaurant is named after them. The hinnies themselves were really tiny and burnt. The waiters were very nice about it and took them off the bill.

All in all it felt like a let down as the restaurant its self is very nice and the staff very nice, just a shame about the food

Most of our party were happy overall. Personally portion was just too large! Smoked salmon in copious amounts but cut thickly which is not to my taste. Belts breakfast was also huge, 4 pieces of toast!! Disappointed with quality of the bacon and no choice given as to the way eggs were cooked . Otherwise ok.
