Lovely menu choice. Food beautifully presented and all dishes had a clever twist, introducing ingredients together that were unusual and surprisingly good. Excellent service and ambience and highly recommended. We will be back.
Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch - always outstanding at Elite Bistros
A very very pleasant evening. Welcoming, excellent service with simple well chosen dishes. Would be very happy to return there.
First visit for me, food exquisite in every way.
Can’t wait to go again, their signature Custard Tart was sublime.
Service and ambience perfect.
We had a really enjoyable lunch at Hispi and the service was very warm and welcoming. We had come here on a recommendation and we weren't disappointed. We shared the light bites and a starter - the bread is divine- all really enjoyed those and also enjoyed our mains. The vegetarian gnocchi and squash option was really tasty and a nice change from having to have salad or something deep fried. The deserts were so good! Eccles cake loaded with fruit and a very generous helping of cream and the ice cream sandwich with the olive oil biccies. A really nice ambience even at a quiet lunchtime. Would definitely recommend.
Great service, lovely food something bit different. Really enjoyed it, been a few times, never disappoints.
Spectacular food and service - tried all of the appetisers, brilliant, then lamb belly and onto trout. Well fed, tasty food and properly looked after. Thank you!
Excellent Bistro, more fine dining than humble Bistro
Best lamb EVER
Food was great, just think there could have been more, or we could have been told that the halibut we'd selected as the main meal didn't come with any carb or veg on the side (it was just a piece of fish, a sauce and 3 small mushrooms). We couldn't fault the taste of the meal, just think if you're going to charge £30 for a main meal, it needs to be a full meal that will fill you up, it shouldn't be dependent on additional sides you have to pay for to complete it.
All the courses we had were delicious and left you wanting more.
3 stars overall but ALMOST 5 stars. Reasons as follows:
- The first thing you want to achieve is to make your guests comfortable. This is a minimum. When we were shown to our table, we couldn't help but notice it was one of those small, cheap highstreet cafe types. Wobbly and with barely enough room for 2 plates and 4 elbows. Larger tables for 2 person tables would make a big difference. Higher quality tables throughout would be a benefit.
- The food was really good, the presentation was excellent. You could really tell that the kitchen staff have thought about their menu and that they care. The one point of failure was that there was too much salt. I understand salt helps bring out flavour but there is a level at which it overpowers all other taste. I have no doubt that the produce is all of the highest quality, but neither me nor my partner were able to tell as both our meals were heavily over salted.
If these two points hadn't been noticed, this would have been an easy 5 star.
I wish them well.
Second time at Hispi, lovely place, lovely staff. Had the Burrata and carrot starter followed by the special, Gurnard with langoustine sauce. Both were divine.
Heartbroken that the custard tart wasn’t available as it had sold out!!!!😥
Daughter had feather blade which she declared would be her deathbed meal!
Great food great service
I’d take those battered onions off though-zero sophistication to those and not what I was hoping for from the description!!
Lovely food - well presented and beautifully served
Good menu with excellent tastes and well-presented food. Staff friendly and efficient creating a relaxed atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyable evening- thank you!
A bit expensive for what we got. Had the food been beautifully cooked, I'd say yes.
We went on Sunday late lunch time so the restaurant wasn’t that busy, but the service was quiet slow.
The food was of a high standard but we were disappointed with the wine , a Gamay at £32, it seemed rather flat and boring for the price.
This will not stop us coming again or trying the other restaurants in ‘the family’.
Food fantastic and service friendly
Interesting experience. Good food excellent service. Expensive.
Worth a visit.
Excellent food and reasonable price. Great staff and plenty of room so you don't feel packed in to what is a modest sized restaurant.
Loved the interesting vegetarian options, very helpful and flexible with gluten free choices, great service, we were the noisy ones and no one minded. Can't wait to go back.
Four of us went for a birthday meal. Our lovely waiter made cocktails not on the menu for a fussy three ! The small, but perfectly formed menu accommodated our various dietary preferences. The food was lovely - we all had three courses and everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm - we knew we had a two hour slot but didn’t feel at all rushed
Really lovely evening. Will be going back
Excellent restaurant with great food and good wines.
Hispi always excel at original, creative and delicious food.
Their wine selection is also really good.
Keep up the good work.
Great choice of food on the menu and all cooked to perfection. Friendly and helpful service. Definitely going back again
Cannot fault the evening. Good friends, good food excellent staff
Thoroughly enjoyed everything we chose to eat and drink
Bread (side order) and the featherblade steak absolutely incredible. Amazing dessert also. Starter - basically one king prawn for £9 - was a bit of a con but thankfully everything after that made up for it in terms of value/quality.
The food and service were excellent as usual. Each of us had different starters and mains, ranging from fish to meat to vegetarian, and each one was well presented and flavourful. I highly recommend Hispi and will be back.
Was a lovely night.
Excellent Rioja evening at Hispi. Couldn’t fault the service or food, and fantastic wines which complimented the menu.
Having been unimpressed on two previous visits, I am pleased to report that the food was excellent this time. I cannot really comment on the value because my friend picked up the bill. It has seemed to be pricey on previous visits.
Fabulous every time. Especially the sourdough bread.
Never had a bad meal.
I took three mates to Hispi having seen some of Gary’s social media stuff.
The whole experience was excellent from walking in the door to receiving the bill.
It cost less than I’d anticipated and the food and service was better than I’d expected.
A really good experience.
Fantastic food with some really interesting choices. Good wine too, and very pleasant service. As always!
Best food and dining experience for this price range in Manchester by far. Always an amazing experience and always excited to go back.
The food and service was fantastic. The food particularly was outstanding.
The backroom in which we were seated lacked the ambiance of the other rooms. Left us feeling a little cut off. Perhaps this area that opened onto the carparks could do with softening up a little.
Otherwise I would highly recommend.
Love it here. Excellent food, lots of choice and a lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.
Absolute superb lunch at Hispi. Had the 3 course set menu for £19 - the waiter was so good in explaining the dishes. Gorgeous chicken liver pate, ox heart with truffle and parmesan chips followed by homemade ice cream. This was top quality food and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back!
Amazing food at a fair price. Pity the Rock Bass had sold out at only 7.30pm.
