We went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was perfect. The lunch menu is worth every penny and the waitress was very attentive. She had overheard it was his birthday and arranged a nice surprise of a few delicious caramels and chocolate which was so lovely!
Good, interesting cooking. Service friendly but a little inattentive.
Hispi was brilliant, I stopped in for a quick lunch on the way up further north and was hugely impressed. The food was delicious, went for the very reasonable set menu (2 courses for £16). Duck hearts on brioche to start were good but the Beef Skirt was truly exceptional. Service very attentive and friendly.
We had a wonderful evening at hispi. Natalie was so attentive and yet never overbearing. She made our night with little touches that went a long way. I am coeliac and not once was it a problem. Couldn’t recommend enough.
An excellent place to eat. We love it. This is our third visit over the past year.
The food here is top notch, this is the second time dining here over 18 months and everything about Hispi is brilliant quality. Can't wait to visit again!
Don’t get out a lot anymore and would happily eat here whenever I do get the opportunity. Excellent service and we’ll prices for what felt like a really special meal. The confit salmon and the feartherblade beef with the house chips were amazing. Highly recommended
We have been to Wreckfish in Liverpool which was amazing so decided to try Hispi and we were not disappointed. Food was lovely really nice lady who served us nice chilled atmosphere would definately recommend.
Food and wine was amazing! Server was very friendly and gave great advice on food.
Family birthday meal
Really lovely food, friendly staff, plenty of choice and a little different to other local restaurants.
Busy and buzzy for a Monday night. Congrats treat for my daughter. Been to Wreckfish but first time to Hispi (serial crowdfunder). Fab food and lovely service. Daughter had to be restrained from licking the plate.....she's 26!
The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful and as it was my wife's birthday they also threw in some complimentary nibbles and sweets.
Previous great experiences but disappointed on this occasion .Slow service apart from the girl who appeared to be in charge .
Food was great and I loved the cod dish although was very disappointed to see a photo on Twitter of another diners dish that evening where she had double the size Cod portion .
Delicious food created with a light and loving touch. Quite expensive but good value. I could eat there every week.
Great place with lovely food
Very good standard as always, particularly the Paris Brest dessert.
However, the portion size of the lamb was pretty stingy- 2 small slices of lamb rump plus meatball for £22 was a bit mean spirited.
Should have stuck with my usual pork chop.
We have been to Hispi several times and enjoyed the food. The dishes are creative.
I took my parents to Hispi for lunch on Father's Day. All three courses were absolutely beautiful (the portions were spot on too so we could manage three courses without feeling uncomfortably full). The wine was great too. I would unreservedly recommend Hispi.
We went for fathers day. Three of us. We sat were you could see the kitchen. And how busy they were.
The service and greeting from when we came in to when we left was brilliant, friendly and welcoming.
The food portions were perfect. We ordered 2 adult beef dinners and a child's beef dinner( I have to say there wasn't much size difference, they were very generous.) My partner said it was up there with the best roast dinners he has ever had.
We will be back for one of our date nights.
Looking for somewhere nice to eat with my husband and asked for recommendations on a FB page in Cheadle. A few people mentioned Hispi and so I booked and we went for a rare child-free night out. A beautiful restaurant with amazing food and some of the nicest staff we've ever met! And with a bill of less than £100 (including a £10 tip) which covered mains, desserts, two gins and an Irish coffee, you don't really get much better! We'd definitely go back again and recommend to others :)
Always consistently excellent. Really good atmosphere and nice, clean, great testing food.
Excellent food and wine. Recommended universally.
This was our first visit to Hispi. Having read other reviews we were expecting good things, we weren’t disappointed.
The staff were attentive and efficient, and nice and friendly. The food was excellent, great choice and perfectly cooked.
The restaurant has a good buzz about it but not too loud, except for the table of 3 next to us who made sure everyone knew what they were talking about!!
This was the third time I ate at Hispi and it did not disappoint. From the warm reception when we arrived, to the prompt and attentive service, and to the server's knowledge of the food and wine - and good recommendations. For those of us challenged by age, who find it hard to converse in noisy surroundings, the ambience was vibrant but not noisy. Of course, the food and wine are Hispi's strong suit. I was not surprised by the high quality of these, but my guests were very, very impressed by it. Not cheap, but you could pay a lot more for much less good dining. Well done and thanks.
Great restaurant with excellent food, not your average Sunday lunch way better, the beef was so tender and the apple crumble was melt in the mouth. They also have a great menu and good deal for 3 courses. Highly recommend, will definitely be back.
As a choice to celebrate an anniversary it was unbeatable. The food was delicious, nicely presented and individual. The staff were attentive without being intrusive - and introduced us to a new liqueur!
Such tasty food. The mackerel starter and feather blade main won our food competition but all was lovely. Service was very friendly. Very good value.
Have been to hispi before and the food was spot on! The flavours were not really great this time. The tomato gazpacho did not compare to the previous clear tomato soup and the plaice was bland - sorry it was a miss this time
Fantastic food with a real emphasis on seasonality and flavour. Notable wine list with interesting bottles, all priced well. Service is friendly and warm and a team that make you feel exceptionally welcome. A gem of a local restaurant that is worth making the trip to
This was our fourth visit to HISPI and...we just love it more and more evry time! The menu is amazing and the only problem is choosing, so many super-delicious options. The flavours are very creatively assembled an the cooking skill is amazing. The staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming. This is a fantastic restaurant and we would highly recommend.
A perfect meal all in all. Nat served us and she was brilliant.
Very high quality cooking. Not too noisy. Nice service
Had a lovely evening in Hispi for my birthday.
Great food, great service . Couldn’t fault it. Would definitely recommend to my friends. I’ve eaten at Sticky Walnut in Chester on a few occasions - equally as good.
Fantastic on all fronts! Wonderfullllllllllllllllllllllll
The service was excellent but unfortunately the main course was barely warm. The waitress offered to warm the food up but by then we had already started our dinner. The extra potatoes we ordered and gravy were piping hot which then highlighted how cold the main meal was. Such a shame as we are regulars and this has never happened before.
Very very good restaurant! Affordable! Great quality!
Always a pleasure and always changing. Hispi keeps things fresh, seasonal and creative all at great value. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Wine and beer selection first class also.
Food and service were amazing. Thank you :)
My third visit and everyone has been excellent! Great food and great staff even on a busy Saturday. Thank you!
