Amazing as always thanks Hispi. Please never leave Didsbury!
Excellent friendly service surpassed only by the quality of the food. Wine list recommended too!
Food is fresh and inventive with wonderful flavours, beautifully presented.
Excellent service and wine list.
The early evening menu is excellent value for money.
We think the food is of a high standard and original. You would not get that food anywhere else locally and the restaurant has its own character. The waiter was charming and the service excellent. I had the beer brewed especially for Hispi and it was excellent. The artichoke soup was delicious and unlike anything I have had before. I liked the mild, spicy taste. There are so many chains serving bad food that I am pleased to have this local restaurant. We are taking some guests there next and are looking forward to it. It was quite busy for a Monday night which is always a good sign.
Eat here regularly, best food in Didsbury, without question.
Food was generally good. Parfait lovely. Two of us had the cod which was light and had a nice crispy top. The rest of the plate was pretty bland. Other friend had the feather blade on my recommendation but she wasn’t keen ‘too much like braising steak and I can make that at home!) The sauce did have a bitter/burnt flavour. Desert was gorgeous.
This is probably our third or fourth time dining here but we have been for maybe 6 months nor more. This visit was the best yet. All food choices were excellent. Service was very friendly and efficient. They even made an extra effort for my wife’s birthday, which wasn’t expected. Superb, thank you
Nice layout and not too noisy which I like.
Fabulous service, imaginative food, piping hot tasty flavours, gorgeous Sunday lunch.
An enjoyable experience. The food was of a high quality. Staff, can only be described as the best we have encountered. One downside however was the wine, the house red was just acceptable, whilst the list available lacked a sparkling white, much to the disappointment of my wife.
Familiar with sister restaurants
We went for the early bird menu (before 7pm)- three courses for £19 (you can have two courses for £16). Every course was delicious! I have also been before and ordered from the main menu.
The food is well presented and tastes amazing. The portions are quite small (not for those wanting a plate full), but you do feel you are getting your money's worth due to the quality. It can work out quite expensive with the sides (the main dishes are small just on their own and sides are needed), but that's why we went for the early bird menu as no sides were really required.
I would definitely recommend.
The quality of food was great. Very nice service. The only thing that brought it down a little was that we went for the set menu for early dining. And felt the options for mains might have been a bit more adventurous. Fish and chips and a ceasear salad. Whilst both good weren't the most exciting options.
But other than that it was a lovely meal
Great service and even better food!
Great food, great choice of wines.
I had a fish starter and main, unusually. The starter was seared bream in a langoustine sauce. Delicious. After this I had plaice with leeks and two sorts of onions (maybe an odd choice on the chef's part). Very good though, although the leeks were a bit salty for my taste. Finished with apple and custard Millefeuille which was very good, and coffee. I had a white chateauneuf du pape (Vaudieu) 2011. Unusual to get white c-du-p, particularly one that was mature. It was excellent, and for £39 a bargain, probably about the price you'd pay for it in a shop if you could get it. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant, although we had an unusually long wait between the first and second courses. They denied that they'd forgotten us, but we suspected they had. A lot of meat dishes were going out while we were waiting, so maybe they got priority. They lost a point for service because of this, but it wasn't the waitress's fault.
This place is a gem! Streets ahead of everyone else in the Manchester area. Stylish, thoughtful, modern dishes, perfectly executed. Cool, simple decor, great service.
Visited on a quiet Wednesday lunch time. Chose from the excellent value 3 course £18 menu. Limited choice due to the special price although something for everyone on the menu. Good selection of bottled beers. Food was good on the whole...few little niggles I wouldn’t complain about due to the price...burnt toast with the pate, Pate was too heavy and very cold, croutons far too greasy and salty on the Caesar salad. Service was excellent. Would recommend.
Top notch for imaginative food, and service. Ran out of lamb on the Sunday roast menu, had the beef which was melt in the mouth perfect. Can’t wait to visit again.
My favourite restaurant in Manchester. The food and service are fantastic.
Fantastic meal. My husband and I sneaked in an early date night after work one evening. We had starters and mains and they were all completely stunning plates of food. Honestly, it was gorgeous! We’re pretty fussy about where we eat and Hispi doesn’t disappoint. A fine dining experience at reasonable prices in a relaxed but stylish environment. I would recommend Hispi to anyone. It’s fabulous.
Everything about our evening was great !! The only thing is the air- con it was on the cold side - especially when you are sat still at your table ( also saw several other guest covered up due to being cold ) this can really make or break an evening from being enjoyable or miserable 😩
We’ve been to Hispi 3 times now and every time the staff have been both attentive and knowledgeable. The food is beautifully presented and is absolutely delicious. I’d recommend the feather blade main course! We’ll definitely be back 😀
Third time I’ve visited this place , what a great little neighborhood gem! The food is fantastic and the staff are very attentive and friendly! I will definitely be back soon .
Really excellent food, lovely staff, highly recommend!
I always love eating at Hispi; great food and very friendly service in a cool place. If I have a minor complaint it is that the noise levels are always rather extreme, because it's all hard surfaces. And maybe one more waiter would ease the pressure?
All that said, it's brilliant and we will be back many times.
Second time at Hispi we love it. The food is wonderful as is the service by friendly staff who clearly care about what they do. We'll be back for sure.
Hispi never fails to impress. Always great food and service.
Just amazing. When you’re still talking about the side dishes as well as the meal you know the food is exceptional (seriously who’d have thought steamed cabbage would be so good!). Highly recommended xx
Another amazing restaurant by the main man, Gary Usher. The waiter was an absolute dream, everything he recommended we got it and believed we made the best choice. The desserts we didn't know which two to get, so we got the both. Always fantastic.
We bought a bottle of Amarone, which we fell in love with, perfect pairing with the meaty food we ate.
We will be back
Fantastic three course meal on the early bird menu as our pre wedding celebration.
The custard tart is amazing!
My boyfriend and I had not treated ourselves to a date night in a while and decided on Hispi due a recommendation from a good friend. The food was great, service polite, atmosphere friendly and great value for money. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, in particular for couples wanting to treat themselves for the night. We will definitely return at some point in the future. Thanks again!
Hispi was recommended by a work colleague and we weren't disappointed. The flavour was excellent. Loved the Spearmint mousse with the raspberries.
Excellent service and beautiful food. I’d really urge others to give the place a try
incredible food! incredible value too - i love hispi so much
Roast was bangin, bit shy on the gravy like, and maybe a bit of tenderstem if I was being arsey, but apart from that it was grade a....
This was my second time at Hispi and the food was excellent. There was varied choice for each course and all our plates looked and tasted great - the custard tart in particular was outstanding. Friendly and attentive staff - would recommend very highly
Fantastic food and really lovely staff. Gluten free catered for with no fuss at all.
It was a lovely afternoon meal we had a great time and it was really good value! Loved the pre dinner cocktail as well! Lovely, bright and airey restaurant with great staff. Also, loved the background music!
We went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was perfect. The lunch menu is worth every penny and the waitress was very attentive. She had overheard it was his birthday and arranged a nice surprise of a few delicious caramels and chocolate which was so lovely!
Good, interesting cooking. Service friendly but a little inattentive.
