As always- great food/ great service. Best restaurant in Manchester.
Brought a VIP from the US and they couldn’t get over how excellent it was.
The quality of the food is excellent and the dishes are very imaginative mixing ingredients which I would never have thought of. The lunch menu is particularly good value and we left feeling pleasantly sated! The wine list is interesting, we chose the Picpoul which was lovely.
Not the best experience we were upstairs and it was cramped and too hot for us and the food was ok but nothing fantastic it is almost as if they are trying too hard too make the menu exotic when they could keep things a little simpler.
£35 per head for 2 courses al a carte and drinks (3 beers and 2 glasses of wine)
I would consider coming again but only for the lunch time or early evening set menu and would insist on a downstairs table
Four of us for dinner
Great welcome on arrival. The service was excellent and I really liked being told that the additional vegetable options were to tempt rather than really needed to support the meal.
The wine list was comprehensive, for the white wine we enjoyed the Picpoul de Pinet and the red was the Les Coteaux Cotes de Rhône - both enjoyable and both £27 a bottle.
One of us had the pigs head Croquette, another Lambs Breast with anchovy, a soup and ceviche of sea bream. All were tasty and well presented.
Two of us had the feather blade of steak, and two had the Ducks Breast for main courses, all well cooked and tasty.
No desserts - no room!
Coffee was fine
This is a nice local restaurant which delivers a pleasant dining experience in nice surroundings at a good price. Photos of duck main course uploaded.
Amazing NYE menu. Hispi is top!
We were really looking forward to enjoying a fine dining experience on New Years Eve, in particular the scallops, but found the menu not really to our taste. Everything was tasty but cold, including the scallops which we did not like. The food was excellently presented and tasty but during the winter I would have preferred piping hot, not cold dishes. On that basis we thought it was not good value although we appreciate you pay a premium at this time of year.
The service, location and wine list is excellent although the specialist beers were not to our taste either. We would have preferred a more traditional lager.
I will return to HISPI when the traditional menu returns as I love your food but not on this occasion.
Thank you for a great New Years Eve. Loved the tasting menu, especially the ceviche and the artic roll. We all loved the snacks too.
Modern menu, fresh ingredients, imaginative well cooked food. Very nice polite service.
Amazing food, loved it.
Lovely atmosphere, great service.
Can’t recommend enough.
Fantastic food: modern, inspired and full of flavors. Particularly the meats: their Jus were perfect. Would definitelt come again try some more!
First class food and very good service and nice ambience about the place. Visited a few times always consistent
Popped in for Christmas Eve lunch. Always great service and all of the food was delicious.
We really enjoyed our first visit to Hispi. Slightly disappointed that our only option was to eat off the a la carte menu.....and my fish starter was really tiny - a little more on the plate would have been appreciated. But the food was delicious , the wines too were carefully chosen ...and though I rarely eat dessert, I did have to taste one ordered at our table- It was excellent!
Not cheap, but a quality meal for those seeking some good , creative cooking.
Amazing food and simply brilliant waitress (Shannon). We will be back!
This was the fourth time I have been to Hispi and never disappoints, always delights. This was for Christmas lunch and the turkey was excellent. Something I never really enjoy was made to be delicious.
We visited Hispi for a pre Xmas lunch date, 3 courses for£24. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine was lovely and the staff really friendly and attentive. We will be back.
Hispi is a great neighbourhood restaurant. We have visited a number of times and continue to do so, if you want an excellent and interesting restaurant in Didsbury it is certainly recommended!
My third visit to Hispi and it was as good as ever. Relaxed but very attentive service. Excellent food, with a great choice and the recommended wine was lovely. Possibly the best Sunday lunch I have had in recent years, including some town centre favourites.
Amazing as always. Been many times since it’s opening and it never fails to deliver. Service is always great but this time it was extra special. Thanks guys.
Our visit was most enjoyable, excellent food and service with a good ambience
Great food, wine and service.
Staff are very attentive, and all options on the menu looked very interesting.
We had a delicious lunch at Hispi on a cold wintry day. The food and service were great. I’d definitely recommend
Lovely food, creative cooking and well presented dishes. Main course portion was quite small(SeaBream).
Always enjoy eating at Hispi.
Great little find. Great food. Great wine. Great service. Great night
Consistently amazing food and service, will be back again!
Lovely evening. Great waiter - trainee doctor at university - polite pleasant and personable. Outstanding food. Now our no 1 choice in Didsbury. Thank you.
For context we love trying new places and usually try to go somewhere a little bit special for a Christmas lunch - Hispi was recommended to us by a restaurant that we really rate. We would consider ourselves foodies and are quite adventurous normally. We tried the festive menu which was good value with three courses for £24. Unfortunately, we found our starters (roast mackerel and white onion soup) to be underwhelming. There wasn't a huge amount of choice to start; there were several very meat based options (pigs head terrine, chicken liver pate etc). We both had the main course of turkey which was excellent (and there was much more choice for mains) and we really enjoyed but then found that dessert options were quite limited again. We opted to share a ring doughnut with dark chocolate sauce and honeycomb with ice cream - it sounded better than it tasted. The atmosphere was fine, but it didn't feel like a special place for a Christmas lunch. We were also very much bothered by small flies which were all around us when we were eating. We had to keep batting them away which rather spoiled the experience and the wait staff didn't appear to notice. We would return but only for a simple lunch and would choose carefully.
Don't let the outside deceive you, once you get inside the place is adorable. The food was great and atmosphere excellent. Would definitely go again.
Relaxed, pleasantly quiet allowing conversation with good food and friendly service. What is not to love?
Unfortunately on this occasion (Sunday lunch) although my starter was excellent the sea bass was not good. My husband’s food was good but he asked for a little more gravy to be told that it would cost £1.50 as stated on the menu ( which it wasn’t)!
So mixed review and we won’t be rushing back.
I didn't feel that my husband, as a vegetarian, got value for money. On Sunday lunchtime, it is £25 for 2 courses and whilst I, as a meat eater had a lovely fish ceviche followed by roasted belly pork with all the trimmings, he had soup and linguine, both delicious but price seemed a bit steep for that, compared to what I had.
Excellent as usual, there is no better restaurant in Manchester for the same money.
I took my family and we all loved- it yummy food cant wait to return x
Lovely lunch as always. Great service and really good with kids - great kids menu
Wonderful set menu meal with Hispi. We only put a 4 star on food due to us both having slightly salty main courses. Whole experience is a bargain and delicious. Best desert I’ve ever had in a restaurant - poached pears.
Had a very pleasant lunch there. Service was quick. Staff welcoming and friendly. Nice experience.
Very good food at a reasonable price. Helpful staff + interesting beers & wine list
Outstanding food and Service
A little pricey but will be back soon
Never disappointed with a visit to Hispi. Excellent food and the staff are always friendly
I took my partner here for his birthday, the staff were very welcoming and so attentive. There was always someone around to ask for something. I had pre paid for a cake too, to be bought out at the end which was amazing. My partner loved it! The food was delicious and will definitely be returning.
