The space naturally holds multiple activities and settings – busy café/restaurant and then more relaxed areas.
It’s an all-day destination, a place to see and be seen in.

We thought the staff were charming and attentive.
We loved the venue which had a pleasant 'buzz'.
My wife's scrambled egg and smoked salmon was lovely, however, there were items of my full English were sereved cold. I appreciate we were a large table and the chiefs were trying to get the table served as one. It would have helped if it had been servered on a hot plate.
Lovely brunch menu which didn't disappoint when it arrived. Just a shame it took so long - an hour from sitting down to the whole table being served. Still we'd go back again and recommend to others.
I would highly recommend Hixon Green for informal dining. Good food and plenty of choice, including vegan. But book, even for lunch.
Food was very greasy - scrambled egg resembled an oily omelette & it came with 2 hairs - very disappointing. Coffee was good & the waitress was friendly. There are so many other places to eat in Brighton & Hove unfortunately I won’t be back.
The staff were lovely & made us feel very welcome. It was my friend's birthday & they made a nice gesture in offering her free cake. She felt very special!
We really enjoyed our evening, the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was good. I had the fish which was very good and my husband had a chicken dish, also very good. We would go back.
Always great to visit. Staff were very efficient, friendly and polite. Good overall experience
Always great food and great service! This is my local go to place ....and will be for some time yet!
Staff were very accommodating as usual and food excellent.
Only 2 minor complaints, I ordered the breakfast tea again and on both occasions my cup ended up full of tea leaves , maybe tea bags would work better . Also plates were served but no cutlery and had to ask .
Will still be back for more 😊
Lovely food. Great service. Highly recommended. Love the locally sourced food and presentation was nice
I'm so pleased that my Open Table Dining Voucher made me look at different options to eat because it brought us to Hixon Green for dinner.
We've had breakfast here many times, which was good but the Dinner experience and particularly the service we received from Harry has added this to our list of favourite places to eat in Brighton and Hove.
Really impressed. Food was great, wide range of drinks and as before, excellent service - very fun, friendly and knowledgeable.
We'll be back soon I hope :-)
Neither smoked haddock or steak available midday Sunday
Settled on an alternative but was charged for the smoked haddock as well
Love this place. The food is excellent and the vibe is just perfect.
My all time favourite !!!!
Absolutely love the cakes , food and atmosphere
Can’t wait to go back yet again ...!!!
First time we had eaten here, although have been previously for cocktails! Brunch was lovely and the service great too. We sat upstairs which was nice and quiet - would recommend for drinks or brunch! Our two boys really enjoyed their full english!
Despite booking a table almost a week in advance, we were given a table right at the back of the restaurant wedged under the staircase between the toilets and the kitchen. When we asked if we could have the empty table in the window, we were told it was reserved. Saying that we too had reserved a table seemed of little interest to the staff seating us. Maybe it's better to reserve by phone than use this on-line booking service.
Waiting staff were relatively attentive but looked miserable.
Food was OK, but nothing special. Will not be back for a while, as there are plenty of alternative places to choose from in Hove.
Food good but eggs slightly over cooked. Good noise levels and ambience for business meetings - the staff being so unattentive is a plus and a minus, I always find it annoying when the staff keep pestering you and interrupting your flow in business meetings, at the same time, it's annoying if you can't get someone's attention when you want them. Less attentive is the lesser of two evils, I guess.
When I booked I was asked if it was a special occasion or any requests. I wrote that it was my daughters birthday that day but it was not acknowledged in anyway. Food was great though.
Thank you for a wonderful evening, food, service and surroundings were impeccable.
We booked a table for lunch (1.30) on Sunday for Father’s Day but was disappointed to find the restaurant only serves breakfast until 3pm. The breakfast was ok but in my view over priced. The ambiance and staff were lovely.
Great brunch as always and so accommodating. In our opinion the best breakfast in Brighton and Hove!
Nice quality food good professional service
Visited on Sun afternoon with friends, prior to going to see with Elton John in concert close by. Great atmosphere, not rushed off the table at all.
Really good brunch, avocado on toast was particularly good, as was the peanut butter. Amazing selection of cakes which we also felt compelled to try, favourite was the blueberry cake, carrot cake also good but missed the cream cheese icing. Great wine and champagne selection and really reasonable prices.
Had been recommended this place by a friend from Brighton, if am in Hove again would definitely pay another visit.
Nice atmosphere unfortunately asked for a rare steak, it was nearer to well done.
I didn’t send it back as was on a date and my date for the evening had her food and it would have meant having to wait and would have been a bit awkward.
The service was a little on the slow side we were taken to the table but no one came to ask for a drinks order etc. The waiter did say they were under staffed this particular day, the staff were very pleasant I did like the fact we were not hurried for time.
Always good food and service within a pleasant setting, there were six of us and everyone happy
Hixon Green has reliably good food, attentive service, and clean, friendly atmosphere. It is one of our regular go-to places.
First time here and won't be the last. Went with friends and we were all very impressed with the outlay. The food was amazing and continuing supply of water.
Can't fault it and a wonderful experience. May have to give the evening menu a whirl.
Tables are very close
Omg the burgers was like pulled pork our rolls was swimming as soon as we cut them the wife did not even try hers after cutting it open, I braved half that was enough for me!
Always guaranteed a great meal at Hixon Green! Highly recommended.
Great brunch and service. Quite expensive but worth as a treat.
Excellent Brunch and good coffee. I'm a fan of Eggs Benedict and hate it when it's 'smothered' in Hollandaise sauce - this is the perfect ratio of sauce to ingredients with runny pocahed egg yolks and good quality bacon.
It was our first time at Hixon Green and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Excellent food, great prices and a lovely atmosphere. We had to wait quite a while for our meals, but it was Easter Sunday and quite busy so this would be expected! We will absolutely come back again.
Excellent service and fresh , tasty and beautifully presented food served by attentive staff . Will definitely be back . Than you Hixon Green .
Delicious, fresh food, great coffee and fab atmosphere. It was busy but service was still friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Avocado smash was fab!
Overpriced for below average food. Service was great but wouldn't come in again.
Waited 45 mins for our order to be taken. Was very busy but the food was amazing and s good price
Slow slow slow!!! Food took nearly an hour to come out, and was very average, nothing special. Very friendly staff, up against it with disgruntled customers due to slow kitchen staff. This is the 2nd time this has happened here, so will not be giving it another go.
