No vegan cakes. Very limited vegan options for food. Very disappointing as always used to have a great selection of vegan cakes!

Was recommended this restaurant but when we arrived we were disappointed to see it was a different menu for the evenings. This isn't made very clear on the website.

Also, the restaurant was empty but we had about 5 different waiters/waitresses serving us. It's always nice to have one or two at the most, but maybe that's just me.

They only gave us one menu, even though there were two of us.

At one point there was a drilling noise coming from the kitchen which wasn't ideal for about 15 minutes or so.

Also I was disappointed not to see more vegetarian/vegan options on the menu, especially in Brighton.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience but after so many people had recommended it to me, I guess I expected more.

Nice restaurant/cafe but service wasn’t great from start to finish.
No sugar with hot drinks so had to get up and ask.
Had to wait for cutlery
No salt and pepper etc
Wrong food was brought out.
Drinks - 2 Pineapple juices came out instead of 1 orange juice and the waitress wouldn’t have it that they were both pineapple!
The waitress who served our food was very apologetic re the wrong food.

Unfortunately we found the service very disappointing on this visit. Our booking was 10am and we're were in and out by 10:50 - completely rushed. The waiter even brought the bill over before we'd even asked for it. The food was terrible, microwaved and rushed - it was out within 5-6 minutes of us ordering.
Really gone downhill since we last visited before COVID.

I booked a table for 2 for a brunch with no problem.
Pre pandemic we would often eat and meet people there.
I was shown to our table very promptly, my husband joined about 5 minutes later as he was looking for a parking space. Meanwhile I ordered 2 coffees after finally catching the eye of a waitress.
We then both ordered 2 orange juices as the coffees had still not arrived, prior to ordering our food.
The food arrived served by a 3rd person, to which we were most dismayed not to have a drink. A 4th person then asked what was wrong; we expected our coffee first or at least the orange juice before or with the food.
No water was offered as would have normally been.
Orange juice was brought, then finally the coffees, one in a chipped cup.
The young waitress was very charming and sorry about the confusion, but management were still indifferent. For the cost of the coffees, I would expect better service.
We were most disheartened and are unlikely to return nor recommend anyone.

Service was slow and a little rude, we also got drinks way after we finished our breakfast and had to ask on them three times. Breakfast was nice but not really worth £12.50 for a fry up

Attended a Business Meeting at Hixon on Wednesday 19th May and was looking forward to their normal menu. I hadn't realised that Zama had taken over the Kitchen. I wasn't in the mood for curry per se as I had expected the normal fayre at Hixon. However, I ordered the Butter Chicken and the Basmati rice and it was once of the nicest currys I have had in a long time. There wasn't an enormous choice on the menu but it was varied and something to cater for all tastes. I have told all my friends what a lovely meal we had and recommended they try it. Now I just need home delivery of the Butter Chicken and Rice :)

We had a booking, and then we weren’t seated as their undercover seating was taken up be people drinking their takeaway coffees. Why they would let them sit on a booked table and turn away people looking to pay for food and drinks I don’t know.

Thing is, they didn't have a table for me, and nobody bothered to phone me and tell me that my booking was effectively cancelled. I'm not sure but it looks like they gave it away to a walk in.

Due to lockdown restrictions we ate outside. This was an evening meal, so it was Zama the punjabi kitchen. Initially the service was pretty poor, took a while to attract someones attention to take our order, and then had to remind them about drinks we ordered. But improved when our food came.
The food was nice. Perhaps atmosphere and experience might have been nicer if eating inside.

I’ve been to Hixon Green for dinner and drinks and I’ve always loved it!
This weekend was my first breakfast experience and it didn’t disappoint!
The service was friendly and efficient and the food was absolutely delicious! My friend and I both had eggs Benedict which I’d recommend! The portions were a good size and everything was perfect!

We had booked a table as my parents were visiting, we arrived 5 minutes before our booking and there was no table available. We were then seated on an outside table which was by an the electric box and bins, this really wasn't where we expected to be sat when booking a table.
I asked if we could move tables and after the waiter not returning to the table, we ended up leaving.
This was very disappointing and not what you expect when booking a table.

Table for 5 on Christmas eve morning, 4 of us attending, Food took over 45 mins which wasn't too bad as we enjoyed each others company so much.
3 plates arrived 2 hot one quite cold then the last one was served around 5 mins later. Manners being present we all eat together the food got cold by then so we started without the 4th plate being served.
So the food was very nice apart from one being served cold however they did not have any ketchup!! Its very common to like ketchup to accompany a cooked full English.
VERY DISAPPOINTING
when charging £11.95 for eggs and bacon etc a sauce should be available. The waiter said they had run out and he was sorry. The fact that there is a shop opposite and they could have stocked up on some or one bottle being a special day this a is ridiculous excuse. This is suppose to be an up market place and has been a huge disappointment. They had a large bottle of heinze mayonnaise on the kitchen area so what excuse is do they have for not serving ketchup?
ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE LAZY AND UNORGANISED the largest tescos in Hove is 100 meters away. I didnt mention it again after we finished as to not upset my guests but I am really disappointed that my guests were not satisfied especially on Christmas eve!

Fabulous food and lovely atmosphere but waited at the front desk for five minutes before we waved someone over to be seated. Then waited a while before we waved someone over to order some drinks. Service polite but very slow. Waiters walked by several times without coming over..... Food however was wonderful - delicious and good portions.

While the food was delicious and the coffee warm and comforting! The service was not good. Although making a booking, they had not reserved a table for us. We instead had to wander around with the waiter and find a space. Luckily there was a decent sized table free. Then the meals were very slow!! We waited 40 mins for our brunch. 3 of us had ordered the same meal, nothing complicated. No reason for it to be slow. Especially as the restaurant had empty tables, they were not at capacity. A waiter did apologise.
Lastly, although all workers were wearing masks, the three that we engaged with all had their masks under their nose. One only had it on his chin!
