I've wanted to eat here forever and we were not disappointed! The food was outstanding, especially the oysters.
Our service wasn't the best though, it was a busy Saturday night, we did have reservations. But we were stuck in the corner, kind of like an after thought. We did not have a server, we had the hostess be our server and it didn't feel like we mattered like we saw others being treated. Not complaining, just not the same service. We kind of felt rushed...on our anniversary.
But, after dinner, we went to the bar downstairs and it was also great there. The service was good and so was the atmosphere.
Bad experience! A lot of noise from the other tables. The waiter was: inpatient, even rude at times, unprofessional, rushing us in the beginning for us to order, when we were ready, no where to be found, gave us less than 9oz of wine, but charged us for 9oz, can scare you delivering water...The food: we were hungry getting home! There should be a balance between quality/quantity/price! This restaurant does not deserve the prices charged in any way! Save your time and money!
It was disappointing. I’ve eaten here before and found it really changed.
Food was terrible and really wonder how they think they can still charge the same but offer so much less. My duck was so cold and dried out that I wonder when it was prepared.
It was great! We'll be back.
They made a special occasion even more special.
Excellent experience overall, except they could have slowed down the meal a bit and given more time between courses. Also we tried the entertainment but it was way too loud for the venue and I sampled the group on You Tube playing soft easy listening but that evening played loud rock, not in tune with Hogan's.
Table for two . The food was good but service was very poor. The server checked on us every 20-30 min. My tea water was luke warm but I couldn’t find our sever to ask her for hot water. Finished our dessert but she was nowhere to be found. She was too busy with bigger party tables. She would walk but not check in on us if we needed anything.
Will not recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.
40th anniversary of our engagement. We were engaged at Hogan’s Restaurant 40 years ago. That evening was very special and this was just as special: great surroundings, wonderful food and e cell et service.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The food was great, the ambiance and service was superb. We were not rushed and enjoyed our time with old friends. We quite agreed we would meet there again for our next visit.
Everything was very good except the pineapple shrimp was too salty.
The wait for the food is a little long, but worth it.
First time at this place. I took a customer and we sat on the patio. I'm very impressed with the ambiance, food and service. The train going by was loud from time to time however that can't be helped. The patio is beautiful and I'm sure the dining room downstairs is lovely in the evenings.
Hogans is a great place to have a wonderful meals in a great setting. The food was perfect - risotto was delicious and duck confi was excellent.
Pub area service was 3 stars maximum, half of the table received appetizers on time, but the other half was waiting for an extra half hour or even more and only after couple reminders all was served.
Once moved upstairs for deserts - the service was exceptionally good.
The band is good - really good, but extremely loud for this kind/size of the place... Musicians should understand that the pub-area is really small and closed space and does not require that intensive sound otherwise it really overwhelming and becomes not a music, but noise.
Food quality not worth the prices at all. Very kind staff upstairs, not as much downstairs. Disappointed - should have gone to Locale across the street.
The food was delicious, however when we ordered two teas with our dessert we were given one small tea pot with one tea bag and two cups, and charged $9.00. One teabag, one pot, equals one cup of tea.
Went for dinner back in October 2018 and enjoyed it enough to return for my birthday (that means we really liked it). My husband had the oysters which are a great value at $2 each and the lamb shank which he enjoyed. I had the roasted cauliflower daily soup which was delicious and the duck confit which I really enjoyed. We opted to skip dessert and just have coffee but were pleasantly surprised to be brought a birthday tiramisu... it was yum!
To pricey for the value. It was ok food. I would not go back, it's not worth it. Asked to be seated upstairs but was downstairs even with a reservation. Lots of mosquitos and flys.
Excellent ambiance! The cheesecake is to die for! Highly recommend it. Service is always excellent.
Broccoli was cold, steak sandwich was tough, and the fish was more batter than fish. Won't rush back.
Everything was perfect. The service is ideal. No hovering yet someone is always there to attend to you if needed.
The food is exquisite!
Have always driven by and wanted to try Hogans.
We came for a dual 35 year anniversary and Birthday celebration.
We wanted to treat ourselves and our friends and we were not disappointed.
I would recommend this place to anyone. Relax and enjoy the well prepared food and drink.
The Staff were always attentive and friendly. Great place and we will definitely go again.
Always consistently good food, service and atmosphere.
Have been to Hogan's many times, mostly for special occasions. This was a Mother's day treat for my 91 year old mother. When we got there, they wanted to put us upstairs, and my Mom could not walk up the long stairs, so they offered us another table that seated 6. We were only 3. They then found us a table in the front room, and it was much more suitable. The waiter came dropped off the set menu, brought us water. We ordered a bottle of wine, and it was delivered. I know it was busy, however, other than taking our order, was not friendly, nor did he ask how our meal was when it came. He did not appear once during our meal to check on things, nor could we find anyone to ask a question.
The food was delivered quite quickly. My husband ordered prime rib, and it was a lovely portion, and a good plate of food. My Mom however ordered the 8oz tenderloin, and requested it to be medium well. It was served rare. THis is not good for older/seniors. They do not like rare food. We had no one we could call over to have the meat cooked to our order. My plate of crab/scallop ravioli, was a lunch size portion, not a dinner portion. There were only two salads to choose from, so I wasn't really full from the dinner. The cheesecake desert was really good, however was told it was a raspberry sauce, and I got barely a drizzle. Overall, the service was poor, and the food mediocre on this visit. I know it was mother's day, but when you are taking your Mom our, you want it to be special, and it was not. Sorry Hogan's not good this time.
Very disappointed with the food on mother’s day, it’s usually quite good here.
We booked this restaurant for Mother’s Day and my mother found an elastic band in her appetizer. It was dismissed by the server but acknowledged by management with complimentary drinks. Our server was unfriendly and inattentive. Another you g make server had terrible body odour. When we paid the bill, there was no one to see out the front door. Terrible service. Mediocre food. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointing.
Very elegant, French atmosphere
Highly recommend for date or dinner party
Did both and was very happy
Definitely a nice restaurant to have a great dinner withh friends and family
Twice a year four of us old friends meet for lunch and to catch up on each others' lives. We need a place which respects our wish to remain several hours. We want a restaurant with wonderful food and a gracious ambience, relatively quiet because of our members is hearing impaired in one ear. Hogan's fits this to a tee. Our server was cordial and efficient but not intrusive. The food was excellent (the sauce in the mussels the best I've ever had!)_. This was our second visit and will not be our last. Highly recommend.
We do not recommend restaurants. That is just a personal preference.
The serving of mashed potatoes was extremely small.
Otherwise, we had a good lunch and overall it was a good experience.
We will visit in the future for special occasions. Thank you for the
opportunity to comment.
A perfectly wonderful evening with excellent food. Highly recommended fine dining experience.
Food was ok but for the price should hav even better
Need to improve some things...
Food, drinks, service...
Excellent overall. Anna and her team were fantastic.
Thank you very much!
Our first time visiting this restaurant, not was nice. Food was good
Very nice place. Fairly quiet and relaxing ambience. Flawlessly clean. Professional waiters. Food was very good (we had shrimps and fish of different kinds). The only cons would be high pricing for the food you could get elsewhere much cheaper and an absolute lack of parking (not the restaurant's fault though). The overall experience was very positive, so we will definitely come back, most probably, in summer.
Great atmosphere and high quality food. Historical building.
We booked our Valentine’s celebration here. Once we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by very attentive Valet parking attendants - that’s where our great experience ended. The next stage of our journey was to bypass extremely confused and lost hostess, it took her about 10-15 minutes just to acknowledge our presence, then she offered us free drink so we wait downstairs for our table, that free drink offer was immediately revoked by another restaurant employee. We didn’t have to wait long for our table. Once at the table, it took close to 20 minutes for a waiter to show up and greet us. On that day Hogan’s was offering fixed price menu, 3 courses for $85 per person. We asked if we can combine 1 fixed course with other regular menu items, but the waiter refused it, later on we did see other patrons ordering from regular menu. We ordered fish for one course and medium steak for another. Both meals were extremely dry and overcooked. It took them more than an hour to get us food. We reserved for 8:30pm, and started eating around 10pm. It was impossible to catch a waiter and get them to pour our sparkling wine that we had sitting on ice at the bar, other patrons had the same problem, at any given moment we saw at least to tables with their hands up being ignored. Overall it was awful and extremely overpriced experience. Hope that during regular days they can keep up the quality of service and food.
Over all It was really nice, we got complementary drinks , and violin guy was really amazing
I just wish that my stake would be coked medium as I asked , but unfortunately it was really well done I couldn’t eat
We went for Valentine’s Day. Booked in advance. The restaurant is excellent. Food excellent, ambiance also.
