Hole In The Wall Restaurant
The Hole in the Wall wine list is carefully curated with the same local-focus philosophy that we apply to food. Finger Lakes vintners produce almost half of the wine selections offered on a daily basis. We feature 8 craft beers on tap and have a full bar with a selection of single malt scotches and craft bourbons.
We have a comfortable bar to eat in and three other dining rooms separate from the bar.
We are 100% handicapped accessible and are family friendly (changing tables in both male and female bathrooms and have activities to keep kids entertained).
Food was soooo good however, the service was a little slow. It took more time than it should to get drinks from the bar and at one point we just went and got them ourselves. The waitress was very friendly and it wasn’t busy so maybe this is just their normal flow. If you’re not in a time constraint and want delicious food, this is a good choice.
Delicious as always.
Ribs, Fish, Salad, Beer... It’s always delish! All staff is beyond friendly.
The experience was ok at best, mediocre food, sterile decor, and slow service. What was particularly galling was the management allowing a child to run unsupervised around the restaurant, dodging between tables and colliding with waitresses. At one point, he even grabbed barehanded cherries from behind the bar. I watched as the bartender then reached into the same jar to garnish a drink...
Everything was outstanding. We had a two year old with us, so eating out is always a challenge, but the food was incredible (even the next day)
We arrived for a late dinner and although they somehow never received our open table reservation they were easily able to accommodate us. We had the hot wings which were cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed the fish and chips and I had the broiled haddock, both very generous portions and delicious. Our waitress was excellent and so was the creme brûlée! I highly recommend this restaurant and prices were very reasonable!
Great food and service.
Very clean and nice looking rooms.
Service ,food drinks, desert all were very good.Noise level was a little loud.reserved a table by a window but was not seated by one.
Outstanding in all categories
Absolutely awful. Unfortunately, we forgot we had visited this restaurant a year prior when we were in the area for the balloon launch at Letchworth. It was terrible the first time, too. There aren’t many dining options in the area, so this one came up in our search again. I wished I remembered the first visit, but since we arrived we decided to give it another chance.
Regrettably, we ordered the same dinner as the first visit (prime rib) and it was worse this time. During our first visit, another couple returned their prime rib and chose not to have it replaced. I wish I had made the same choice both times, but didn’t want to make a fuss and have my dining partner wait.
The meat was tough and unbelievably gristly. My date actually had to excuse himself to get rid of a large, unchewable piece and had to use tooth picks afterwards. The meat edge was smeared with extremely salty beef stock that was goopy and like it came out of jar, slathered on as an afterthought rather than to actually season during slow cooking. The au jus was extremely salty as well and, combined with the salty meat, completely inedible.
The waitress tried three times to remove from the table the stale bread and flavorless tapenade which, by the end we were only eating to clear the salt from our mouths. The waitress was clearly annoyed by my asking her to leave the bread the third time and scowled at me when she subsequently walked past. By then her pleasant but unpolished demeanor soured, and she left us sitting for an extended period after it was clear we were finished. She then just dropped off the check without a word, no thank you, and walked away.
By the end, if anyone was around to ask how it was, we were very ready to let them know. Typically we do not complain and are pretty flexible, but this was comment worthy. The hostess who was barely pleasant when we arrived, was nowhere to be found when we left. No one at the bar. Nothing. It was like an empty building. Like no one cared.
Food was incredible! I ordered the Grilled Salmon on Baguette and it was a flavor explosion in my mouth. A mix of sweet and sour, spicy, creamy and crispy all in one bite! The restaurant was pretty empty at the time we were there, but I imagine it to be a place of joyful chatter normally. Tastefully modern decorated dining room with west views over the lake for viewing beautiful sunsets. We went because of the reviews and were still pleasantly surprised!
Always pleased to return to a warm & friendly place, with great service, & an interesting and varied menu. Our fish was done simply with fresh vegetables. A lovely evening out.
Margarita pizza was pretty dry and lacked taste/cheese. That brownie dessert was AMAZING. Italian wedding soup AMAZING. Alfredo with broccoli was so yummy. Chicken a tad dry. Place was cute and quiet.
Have come to eat here twice now and love the food. Came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. It was a nice cozy environment perfect for the occasion.
We have dined here multiple times and will return in the fall. Food and service is amazing as is the staff, chef and owner.
An unexpected find. There’s not a whole lot around Letchworth State Park. This was s cut above the usual local places. Creative menu, decent wine list, some vegetarian options. Glad we found it.
Very nice place very good food waitress was a little flighty, but overall very nice.
Excellent food and service. Worth a try if you are visiting Letchworth
Amazing food and presentation. Staff is always helpful and courteous.
Excellent, imaginative food. A real find and unexpected
The food was great. I had New York Strip followed by Creme Brulée, both of which tasted good. The "Greek Village" salad wasn't an authentic "Greek Salad" but to be fair, it didn't claim to be and it was nice anyway. They were accommodating when my adult daughter asked for pasta from the kids' menu with a different sauce as an adult main. They were friendly and helpful and courteous. A short walk from Perry lake.
