    The restaurant has a nice decoration, food we only tried what was on the overnight stay menu, it was acceptable. The service was very slow and disorganised, always walking around asking who ordered the dishes.

    Food was ok. Service was in different....but what really got me irked was coming down for breakfast the next morning to a big PAYMENT? next to my name and being asked if I had paid last night. Yes, yes I did. I had to come to the till at entrance to pay because me and my daughter had trouble getting anyone's attention from our table so after 10 mins decided to go up and pay. I've got the transaction on my phone which I showed the young lady this morning who then asked me to show it to her manager. I was more than a little offended that my honesty was questioned because people can't do their jobs to a sufficient standard and even more offended that I had to "prove it" to not one but two different people.

    Very easy to book through Open Table and quick to receive confirmation. Warmly received upon arrival and the service was quick and very friendly. The down side was the below average quality of the food. Two very simple dishes - chicken ceaser salad and fish/chips ordered - which took 25 mins to arrive. This could be forgiven is the food had been good but it was very much below par. Salad was very poor with watery dressing and just three croutons! Chicken was ok - but overall just not the quality I had expected in a premium hotel. The fish definitely gave the impression is was straight out of long term freezer storage. Hats off to the restaurant manager - after we gave feedback she was very decisive in her response and action - very impressed. The saviour of this visit was definitely the service and management team in the restaurant. They were on the ball and provided great customer service. The food needs special focus.

    Pleasant meal in the hotel restaurant - good ambience - staff were attentive although there was some delay between courses for which they apologised. Food well cooked and presented. would eat there agian when staying at this hotel

    We had breakfast here. Choice good and everything we had was good.,plates could have been warmer as food soon went cold but overall a good breakfast with unlimited tea and coffee

    Had breakfast here, selection of the continental was good the only disappointment was they did not have any almond or oak milk as an alternative the diary only soya which I can't drink. The cooked breakfast was excellent.

    Have stayed here a few times now, which means it cannot be that bad to keep coming back, BUT the breakfast could definitely benefit from improvements, especially for the price you pay. No bread, no jams, no pastries, no smoothies. It’s very limited on choice and quantity but the staff are very friendly and helpful and will try and get you the items you ask for, but 8/10 they don’t have them even though they are on the menu. We always eat around 8.30/9.00am too, so, it’s not like we’re turning up right before closing time where you would expect items to be potentially less in number.

    Table not cleaned. Offered cutlery from previous guest. Ordered a club sandwich with brown bread, arrived with white. Took quite a long time. Overpriced for the quality

    Bar staff very efficient and friendly - reception hit and miss - nice and clean bar again was the top of the list - food ok nothing to complain about -room a bit worn but clean -bar staff made the stay for me well done to the staff who were working 19th and 20th June shift afternoon to night a credit to the hotel thankyou

    We travel frequently as sporting officials and have a cap to our expenses for evening meals. Sadly, every item on the menu exceeded this cap although we were happy to pay the extra amount ourselves for the convenience of eating in-house rather than going out again after a long day. Most of our colleagues did choose to eat elsewhere, however. Service was fair, although I waited some time for a second drink due to a barrel being changed...it would have been better service to have told me of the expected delay rather than me having to come out to the bar to enquire. Food was good.

    The family room or 2 kids 2 adults room is just way too small. But we had great half board deal so was still good value for money. Not 4 star rooms though

    We had dinner included as part of our stay. Food was better than expected and we had a lovely waitress called Tasha. We were also given a celebratory drink as it was our anniversary.

    The food was good when we eventually had it my wife had soup which was cold had to take it back mo fuss . I had drink which I never ordered . And paid for the drink I never had. Did not complain .

    Fish and chips was ok, short on staff everyone on shift was working very hard to manage everything. We did not like the hotel very much. Were passing thru staying 1 night and probably will not return again.

    The reception service was helpful on arrival and departure. The service at the bar was off-hand and extremely slow for me and fellow guests. The waitress in the restaurant was very personable but the kitchen service was extremely slow- 1 hour! Others endured a similar delay. The chicken in my Caesar salad was tough and barely cooked sufficiently to avoid a more serious complaint. I have used many Holiday Inns in a professional capacity previously: this was the poorest bar and restaurant service to date.

    We love staying at this hotel! Food is lovely and amazingly good value 3 course £50 dine for 2 with a bottle of house is great and the staff are polite attentive and happy. Breakfast is also great with so much choice Just a lovely relaxing couple of days Looking forward to coming back again soon
