   We had been to Holm for dinner a couple of weeks ago so we thought we’d try a lunch this time. It didn’t disappoint! Everything was great. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed every course. We’ll go there again, for sure!!

   We opted for counter service and the chef’s tasting menu. Each dish was lovingly created in front of us and we were able to converse with the chef while he did this. The food was exquisite and left us feeling satiated without being over full. Truly a culinary experience

   Get the tasting menu with wine pairing!! Really unusual wines that go beautifully with the food…..my husband was gutted he was designated driver!! Counter service was lovely…..informal & friendly yet not intrusive. Will definitely be back!!

    Outstanding evening. We had the tasting menu with wine flight. Ingredients weren’t all local, they were all British. Attentive waiting staff, but not intrusive. Finally a proper dining experience in the local area. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

    This has the ability to be a top restaurant but on my visit the food was a little disappointing. We, like most in the restaurant had the tasting menu and was looking forward to it butthere was a lack of consistency around the table. Firstly each person's plate had inconsistent portion sizes for a number of dishes and secondly, when one of the dishes that come out contained mint for one, the remaining three of us didn't. When questioned we were told that is how the salad comes and some get it and some don't. Mint is an extremely strong flavour so you either have it because its part of the dish or you don't. There was an overuse of strong flavours such as Alexander which is again a strong flavour that needed restraint. Unfortunately on one of our additional (chargable) fish dishes the fish was like leather. To their credit they replaced it straight away and did not charge us for the supplement for both people which would have been £20 (£10 each) pluses 12.5% service charge. The Hogget dish was the standout along with the nettle soup and sheep's curd dish but the rest was a little pedestrian considering the £55 per head plus 12.5% service. I appreciate they're supporting local produce and it was nice to see Honeypot Farm cider available however at £7 for a pint which is more than I pay them for 2ltr is a stretch. It is nice to have restaurant of this calibre locally but on my experience they need to up their game. I'm not convinced I'd return which is a shame as we'd waited almost 6 months due to 3 cancelled bookings due to COVID. I'm sure others have had a great experience and I would never pit someone off going to try it for themselves and this is my own experience and I'm only speaking for myself.

    We stumbled across this gem of a restaurant and loved every second of it, we opted for the vegetarian taster menu and it was out of this world. Each dish looked like a work of art and tasted even better! The staff's knowledge was brilliant about all the dishes, ingredients, processes and wines! We would 100% recommend this place and will most defiantly be back next time were in the area.

    Great evening, attentive service and yummy food. Definitely more of a treat than a regular local, however would love to try the lunch menu. Exciting new place and would certainly recommend.

    First visit to Holm but it will not be the last. Love the creativity And simplicity of the dishes.It’s all about flavour which was fantastic. A relatively quiet mid week lunch service which deserves to be busier. Loved chatting to the knowledgeable staff about Food,Wine and the l9cality which is idyllic. A new gem for us and we will take the risk of tell8ng readers it is a must visit place. Looking forward to hearing about the launch of rooms so we can make a trip of it and do justice to the tasting menu and also future outdoor events.     Exceptionally small portions. You need to supply magnifying glasses! Very noisy due to all hard surfaces reflecting sound. It may be 'modern' but I don't like to see bare plastered walls in a restaurant. Not an experience to be repeated.

    Phenomenal food - definitely sit at the counter if you can and get the chef's interaction, and 100% don't overlook the chips on the menu, they were amazing. Lovely staff, lovely service, worth the trip from London!

    we were a party of 4 and my shellfish allergy was acknowledged on entry which was good practice. We arrived early and were greeted by a smiling face which was great and taken to the lounge area to wait for the other 2 guests. Drinks menus were brought out straight away and guidance offered on the beers and wines. Drinks arrived almost immediately and the attentive waiter also noticed a button on the floor which had come off my wifes blouse. This attention to detail is great. When our friends arrived, they were given the same welcome and attentive service. Without hurrying us, we were shown to our table and offered still or sparkling water as well as advice and guidance on wine to go with the taster menu. One of our party did not like lamb so was offered cod in its place without any problem. Each of the courses was explained at the table by the staff and each one demolished by we four diners! I have been to tasting menu evenings before and have to say this was the best. Ample portions, each with distinct and sometimes unusual combinations. Each delivered great flavours so much so that at the end of the meal, we could not choose choose a best dish. The attentive service continued throughout with waiters ready to replenish water and wine. The only negative ,and not a reflection on HOLM at all as the ensuing events could not have been predicted. The table behind us became embroiled in a domestic dispute which was quite heated and midway through our meal, a table of 14 celebrating a 50th birthday arrived and from then on, any conversation on our table ceased as we could not be heard above the cacophony. A senior member of staff came over to our table and I suggested that , if large bookings are taken, it would be couteous to other diners booked in if this was mentioned. He acknowledged this and apologised. At the end of the evening the GM Josh came over, apologised profusely and more than compensated for the slight inconvenience. Great staff handled this well. Thumbs up!

    Loved our visit to Holm. Restaurant was light and airy, with laid back decor that made it feel very relaxed. Good buzz and ambience. Staff were very friendly and attentive, great service. We had the tasting menu which was fabulous, especially the ham broth (tasted so fresh!) and the hoggett. All ingredients were locally sourced (or foraged!) and fantastic quality. Great wine list, I had a delicious white rioja which was very reasonably priced by the glass. Hubby had lager from Otter brewery (East Devon) which he was impressed with. After we’d eaten we had a final drink and our petit fours sat in comfy chairs by the fireplace which was very relaxing. All in all a fab meal and experience, and we will definitely be visiting again.

    Very disappointing. Two Starters of cod roe and salmon excellent. Home made bread delicious. Three of our party of four had tagliatelle and clams. One was delicious. Other two fill of sand and very gritty. Other diners could hear the grind against their teeth. We complained and were offered an alternative. Chose chicken which was satisfactory.

    We came here as a belated celebration for my husband’s 40th. We’d heard good things but it more than exceeded expectations. Excellent food, vibe and service. Can’t wait to come back sometime in summer and enjoy the terrace! Highly recommend.
