We have been going to home since it opened and it was fantastic. Great menu choices and service. Over the past couple years the seasoning of the food has become less appealing. The decor and service are still great
We ordered 2 starters one of which was okay (fried polenta) I had ordered the curry soup which featured a hard boiled egg. And that was it. A few noodles dug up from the bottom of the bowl, the flavor was okay but the soup was brought cold. For mains we got the pumpkin ravioli which was pasty and tasted of chalk. The less said about the dish the better. I got the turkey and ham which sat on the pass for 10 minutes which was obviously so dry that the jus had begun to evaporate. Overall very poor. Standards have dropped and I’m doubtful of any bib gourmand award as this is very misleading.
Food was ok but expected more. I had the burger and it was nothing special .
Very enjoyable and lovely staff. This has been my second time to eat here and I felt relaxed. The staff, even though very busy made everything relaxed with no delays.
The staff were really welcoming and helpful, I ordered the vegan curry which was beautiful, slightly smaller portion as I'd hoped for , saved myself all day for this meal so ended up having to order another side to fill me up.. my husband ordered the Xmas dinner which was terrible and cold ,he never sends anything back he just gets on with it but this wasn't warm enough to enjoy, the staff were lovely about this and took it away and ordered him a new dinner, when this Xmas dinner came out it looked complex different from the first one with roasties stuffing and mash which the first Xmas dinner was missing , it was the same meal but the 2 plates were completely different. . This on was hot and he was just ok .. so desert he enjoyed no problem i ordered the coconor Rice pudding which was barley warm.. we hadn't been out in a long time so we were really looking forward to this but we're pretty disappointed? Have to say we wouldn't go back ... staff 100% food very disappointing
The service was a bit couldn't care less.
The food varied between really good (salt and chilli tofu) to mediocre (soggy chips dressed with tasteless sauce vierge). Good atmosphere. Worth another visit.
Good food with a menu that can accommodate dairy free and gluten free and vegan!
We have been a few times before and enjoyed. We were disappointed this time. Food wasn't great and we were left underwhelmed.
My girlfriend and I were looking forward to our visit to Home.
When we arrived, we were asked to wait a short while at the bar which was fine. We were seated and our drinks were brought over to our table.
I mentioned to the manager/supervisor that it was my girlfriend's birthday and would he be able to arrange a small cake or bun, to mark this. I wouldn't have minded paying for the gesture. He said that would be ok and he would sort it, but it was forgotten and nothing else happened. I was a bit disappointed at this.
At our table, the temperature felt a bit cold which was surprising but it wasn't too bad.
Our starters including bread were great but the mains were disappointing. My girlfriend's ravioli dish had a lovely filling but the edges were far too firm which spoilt the dish.
Overall, we were not impressed and unfortunately left the restaurant feeling underwhelmed due to experiencing more bad than good.
Food was great, service with a smile, overall an excellent restaurant
Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere. Definitely be back!!
A lovely restaurant with good atmosphere and service but several of the dishes were just too salty!
Food fantastic, staff could have been more engaging, not much rapport with customers
Really enjoyed experience. Starters came out very quickly although quite a gap between starters and mains.
We knew in advance that we only had the table so long but after visiting another city which does not impose a time limit for restaurant sittings - I do think this is a modern practice that takes away from the whole dining experience. We were asked to move/give up our table & sit in a bar area - which we did. The service level should have facilitated this & at least carried the tables drinks over. As coats & bags etc had to be brought too. It is the small things that count.
I ordered a monkfish, arriveded a plate not good, water under the fish probably for the ice yet in the food, i told to the Owner and ask for an hamburgher. After all i Found the monkfish on the bill. No good, no service, not good at all
Went to Home with my husband on Sunday night. Sitting at 7pm. Drinks served very quick but waited a long time on waitress to take food order. Also 3 items on menu not available i.e. prawns & chicken parfait from starters and chicken from main
Booked for anniversary, wanted casual with good food and this certainly fulfilled the brief. Good choices, great selection of reasonably priced wines. Service was enthusiastic and attentive but not overdone- perfect for us. Comfortable decor and warm ambience - thoroughly recommend. (One niggle - leave water on table rather than refilling glasses. Granted we probably could have requested this). We will certainly be back.
It was fine. Service disappointing. Felt like we were being actively ignored. Had to go up to get the dessert menu myself due to the fact that we were waiting so long for anyone to come around. Not sure if I’d be in a rush back.
Super salad full of carbs...!
Dessert was delish though!
Second time eating at Home, excellent food, service and value for money both times. Nice bustling, vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommended- we will be back.
I have been to home three or four times and was the one who suggested it for this visit. The food was very good, my prawn starter really good and the five of us enjoyed our meal very much - even the coffee was excellent. Why not 5 stars? I suppose it comes to price and Home is not the only restaurant that concerns me. Prices just seem to be creeping up and up and with the service not mentioned but automatically added on was £17.50, the bill for 5 is approaching £200. That was with a bottle of basic wine, so great food but you need to pay the price.
Delighted to find this restaurant that could cater for me (vegan) and my partner (omni)!
Great ambience and attentive staff!
This was the first time in years, that my partner had a steak that he thoroughly enjoyed....full of flavour and cooked perfectly (his words, not mine lol)
Monkfish main course was lovely but cumin fritters starter was small and not cooked the way I would have liked. Initial service was perfunctory and insincere. We asked for water twice and only received after the third request. Bill for 4 was £230-it didn’t feel like an experience worthy of the cost. Have been before and had a far better experience.
Great food ,friendly staff ,will be back
Your service really needs to improve your staff are not responsive enough and they did not demonstrate a high level of customer care
We were also a bit cold
Good pumpkin ravioli
Beautiful place. Been a few times. Wine and drinks selection superb. Service is first class. Do book to avoid disappointment though the online booking feature is irritating to use on an iPhone 7 as it takes multiple attempts to press the buttons. Only drawback on last visit was steak was very tough, thiugh it was cooked perfectly it must have been a very tough cut. Disappointing steak, but previously I had a chicken dish that was faultless; moist throughout and deliciously flavoured. I’ll be back but not for a steak.
