My experience at hotel Chantelle was great. They spaced out things perfectly per NY State reopening rules and the service was amazing. The food was great and they just made my experience very enjoyable. Wait staff was amazing, manager was great.
Definitely will return before summer ends.
Thank you for making my birthday enjoyable in the midst of a pandemic!!
Tables were perfectly spaced for social distancing and cute dividers were put up between tables instead of generic plexiglass
The staff were very friendly, patient and accommodation. Music, food and ambiance were great. Highly recommended.
Loved it! Food was great as well as the drinks.
Great time, loved the special sign and dessert for my birthday too!
Food and service was awesome. But the drinks need a major revamp, we tried a few different options for the bottomless and they were honestly awful. We switched over to the Stella option.
The food was amazing. They took all the Per-cautions to make sure we were safe due to COVID 19. It was enough space and such a great ambience.
Wonderful Birthday dinner!!! Fun, energetic vibe!!! Food and service were both amazing!!!
Food was great, they have figure out how to slowly reopen safely and provide great service at the same time. Love this place ! Not my first time
First time ever coming to this place and it was awesome! The food and cocktails were delicious. The service was great as well! Definitely will come back and recommend to friends!
Great service, ambience and food. We’ll definitely be back.
Had an amazing time rooftop dining on the 4th of July. Even in the middle of a pandemic they were more than accommodating. I went with my girlfriend and used a pulsd voucher for two! Although the menu was somewhat small the meals were excellent and we both loved truffle flatbread appetizer. They also have a very interesting cocktail selection and we both really liked our drinks. Definitely a favorite for us!
First outdoor dining experience since it has been open in the city and I was so thoroughly impressed. Everywhere you looked employees were wearing masks, sanitizing, and ensuring everyone felt safe and had impeccable service. The ambiance is always great, it’s a gorgeous rooftop and the music is excellent. The food was also delicious - the stuffed French toast is amazing!
We had our anniversary dinner here. The service and food were wonderful, and the place was sanitized and spotless. Highly recommended.
We’ve been to HC for weekend brunch many times, and love the vibe but we didn’t remember it being so loud we couldn’t have a conversation with each other. The DJ was just way too loud, or maybe the speakers, but we couldn’t have a conversation without having to repeat things or without needing to practically yell.
2 out of 3 of us asked for unlimited drinks option for brunch, as per our norm. However the drink service was so slow that within the first 45 mins of being there, we only had one round of drinks served. When the 2 of us asked for our 2nd round multiple times, and after the 3rd time of asking about where our drink was whenever we could catch the attention of any waitress walking by (ours was MIA at many times), the waitress brought out a drink to a person at our table on the house who didn’t even have the unlimited option nor ordered another round; this effectively meant that the people who did order a drink was still left waiting for their drinks. I think the “on the house” drink was meant to placate the disgruntled customers but it was giving to the wrong person who wasn’t really drinking and didn’t even finish her first drink, so it seemed like the waitress wasn’t even aware of the actual circumstances (for instance: she wanted to clear off tables and ask if we needed more food even though we had asked for our drinks a couple of times and all we wanted were our drinks) or was too busy to properly manage the table. I understand, as I’ve been a waitress before, but it was a bit ridiculous.
I don’t know what was up with the service that day but it really sucked. Not sure if we want to come back. I feel like if the staff would pay attention to the customers, and not creating this party atmosphere (which I’m sure helps patrons stay longer = drink longer), this would not have happened.
We were an hour early for our reservation but the hostess was gracious enough to accommodate us. Cocktails were good and cheap as well as the food. Love the dj’s choice of music. The only bummer was we waited for almost 10 minutes before somebody took our orders. Good thing our server was so nice and apologetic. Overall, we would love to come back again.
Very nice atmosphere, great jazz band
Super cute restaurant and dope vibe for Sunday brunch! Staff was friendly throughout.
Very nice brunch venue. Food and service a 10 plus!
Sunday is very loud with a DJ and Saturday very classy with a lovely 1920’s jazz band and singer. Love this spot
We were celebrating our anniversary with a weekend in New York and decided to try Hotel Chantelle for their brunch (after a blogger recommendation). We were somewhat disappointed that the advertised live jazz music was not on that Sunday. However the ambiance and the decor was bright and cheery for a brisk chilly Sunday morning. We opted for the stuffed French toast and and Avocado toast with poached eggs. The eggs were poached to perfection and the mashed avocado and fresh toasted baguette was delicious. The stuffed French toast did not disappoint and I truly appreciated the fact the it was not too sweet and had a crispy texture outside but not gooey on the inside. The Bloody Mary was a bit spicy. My Peach Bellini hit the spot. Overall a lovely experience and since we were the first ones in the restaurant we enjoyed a quiet brunch. Obviously a younger crowd as the restaurant was not full but was getting filled quickly as the morning turned into noon!! Highly recommended.
Amazing! Jazz brunch is awesome
So ... I read it was a restaurant
When we got there the bouncer wanted ID from my gray haired friend because it turns into a dance party - so we hear and my friend had no ID on her... finally the manager let us in
Very cool space - lovely wibes
White truffle pizza amazing. Service great
Music fun even for us old folks!!
They used to have an amazing menu and now they cut the menu with very limited offers.
I would recommend going for Brunch, Waiter gave excellent service and the food was delicious.
Customer service was great. Rooftop temperature was hotter than expected.
They didn't let us know we weren't on rooftop which is why we were there in the first place.
There was a strange blood smell in the dining area which made it really uncomfortable. The foods and service were good.
We came specifically for the pre-fixe dinner , but once we got there we were told we could not because the kitchen was backed up? Mind you, there were multiple empty tables so I’m not sure what they were backed up with.... we had a party of 4.
The bbq cauliflower was amazing but need more vegan options
Extremely poor communication from the managers. The health inspection was occurring during this and not once did a manger come to our table to update us on what was happening. The server, who was incredible, handled every detail which was extremely unprofessional. The food took 3hrs to arrive and the orders were mixed up. In conclusion, the managers should have handled this situation upfront because this was such a negative experience I will never return.
A HUGE disappointment this time around. What could have been used as time to shine, the staff during Saturday’s (2/15) brunch failed miserably with zero damage control. At the peak of Saturday’s brunch, a health inspector showed up which impacted service a great deal. It was an hour already from the time we placed our order when I decided to inquire on the status of the food. ONLY THEN were we informed that the HI was on site hence, food prep & everything else had to halt until they were complete. Sure - this was out of their control but had the manager on duty that day came out immediately to inform the already seated patrons of the current unfortunate situation, things could have been salvaged. The proper customer service move shld have been to go table to table to make apologies & explanations or even an open announcement would be welcome! And a proper compensation after the fact should have been a given. It was a huge inconvenience after all, in the end we waited 2 whole hours for the food to come out! Again, an opportunity to shine by HC was greatly missed. You need to train your staff on damage control. Lastly, when our food came out, it was cold. Steak & eggs, waffle & chkn - all cold! At that point we didn’t bother making another complaint. A compensation of 2 free coffess & 2 mimosas was an insult to say the least.
The food was great. Wagyu Steak Frites
was made medium well as asked and was perfect in texture and flavor. The Signature Truffle Tator Tots were amazing big recommend!
The Fritto Misto lightly battered lobster, jumbo shrimp scallop, calamari, was buttery bread, perfectly crunchy and crisp.
This is a loud environment very lively
The drink that I had was amazing called Pineapple Express sweet and strong
Although this was a great part of the experience. My service was completely dissatisfactory. My server Selina M took 25 minutes to get our drinks. My table was rarely checked on. It then took twenties minutes to bring my bill to the table. when I received my bill it had given me the option to decide what Gratuity.
Then I had wanted to add a coupon and needed a new bill. when I received my second bill 20 minutes later. My server didn’t inform me of the gratuity would be included, Also it being at 18%. which is not what I would have given for very slow, inattentive service, and neglecting to inform me.
We had a wonderful date night with some friends the food was delicious but the drinks weren’t worth the 16$, our waiter looked to be training a new waitress as well and we even had a hard time getting someone’s attention to get some extra napkins. But I did enjoy the food, music and atmosphere and would probably come here again. The prefix menu they offer may be a better deal.
Valentine’s Day. It was decorated very nicely.
Had reservations nobody at hostess stand. Then got seated and was told us the wait staff was on break and it will take awhile. 30 mins later they came back from break. The food presentation was horrible just thrown on the plate. Very disappointed
Great service of birthday celebration bottles!
the food was ambitious but really not at a higher level that New Yorkers expect. Heavy, relied on frying in a few cases. The fried burrata specifically was a big miss, had a heap of superfluous tomato sauce.
It got incredibly loud mid way through dinner and I could hardly hear my companion across the table.
Nice brunch, good food, friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. It was advertised as being a jazz brunch with a live band on Sat and Sun. However, we went on Sun and it was piped music, not a jazz band and not jazz music. This part was disappointing, but overall it was enjoyable.
