Great ambiance - we were seated on the roof very friendly service. We loved the food - burata was amazing, steak and octopus delicious. The bar area was very crowded, but they have great happy hour.
The drinks were amazing and the food was very good. Loved the rooftop vibe!
Three of us enjoyed brunch at Hotel Chantelle. They had a live band there on Saturday and we enjoyed the music as well. We appreciated the retractable dome because it had been raining earlier and then when the sun finally came out - it was rather warm all of a sudden. We would go back again...cute rooftop dining is a nice incentive.
The live music for Saturday brunch was excellent, the cocktails were well made, and the food was delicious! I always enjoy dining on the rooftop even when it rains. When the rain let up halfway through our meal they opened the roof to let the fresh air in and it was lovely.
The ambiance was very nice. There was a live singer with a lovely voice. The only issue we had was the wait time for 2 (but we did arrive 15 mins late) but they made it up to us with complimentary drinks!!
Everything was great until our waitress left (I guess for a break) although no one told us, so we were waiting around for a long time not knowing where she disappeared to. Ended up settling the bill with another waiter.
Such a fun brunch spot for our girls’ weekend! The rooftop is so cute, food is delicious and the staff are so friendly and vibrant. Great atmosphere and everything is instagramable. ;)
I was reuniting with a couple of friends I haven’t seen in four years and was hoping for a delightful and stress free night. The service ruined my entire experience. Our waiter only came to our table a total of three times, and after asking where he he has been he said, “he was busy”. Thankfully, another waiter helped us and apologized. That’s not what I expect when coming to this restaurant. I plan to never come back and I would recommend that something be changed.
Staff was unorganized when trying to seat us at our table when my girlfriend forgot her ID (no indication that this would be a problem for a dinner reservation at 7 PM), lots of walkie talkie action, trip downstairs to see bouncer, then upstairs again, then more walkie talkie action treated like we were not paying customers.
Pulled up an old scan of her ID used for an apartment application and was able to order a Tom Collins, though was served was definitively not a Tom Collins.
Food was overpriced. More of a club than a restaurant I am supposing. Would not recommend.
The DJ Thursday night was on point! It was not overcrowded or too noisy and the food was delicious. This was my 4th time coming and normally the food is a little too salty for my palettebur tonight, they got it right!.
I had the best time at Hotel Chantelle. This was my first brunch I’ve ever had and I was so happy with it. The ambiance was good, service was great, the food was delicious. There were 5 Girls total and we each were very happy with everything. Hotel Chantelle even held two of my friend’s luggage downstairs while we dined in the roof. It was amazing. The food and drink prices were good. Our waiter took our pictures and they turned out amazing. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant again and when I’m back in NYC, I’ll visit again. Thanks for having me and my friends. We had a great experience, no complaints at all. Keep up the good work!
It’s my 3rd time and the service just gets worse and worse. They overplay being cool instead of understanding that cool goes with good client service if not you lose the right ambiance.
My friend and I arrived 30 minutes (12:45) before our 1:15 pm reservation, and surprisingly, the restaurant was pretty empty. Tons of open tables for once. We were only two people. The hostess told us she would grab us when our table was ready, so we sat at the bar. 1:25 pm rolls around, 10 minutes after our reservation time, so I go to the hostess station and ask about our table. They forgot about us, and sat us at a table that was available the entire time we were sitting at the bar. Absolutely ridiculous to wait 40 minutes for a 2 person table for a restaurant that had open tables the entire time... very disappointed. Get it together.
Our server, food, and the musician and guitarist were great, but the hostess situation was extremely unprofessional and a waste of time and brought down the entire experience down a few notches.
Celebrated my bday with some friends. Had an amazing time! The pomme frittes were fantastic! From the doorman to the hostess, the minute you arrive there, it's a happy place. The staff was very friendly and accomodating- I don't drink and my server recommended my new fave drink (strawberry virgin mojito 😀). Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! My only criticism Is that we were seated at 430 for our reservation and AS SOON as we were seated and given menus, we were told we had to order immediately because the kitchen was closing. We were a little taken aback because we LITERALLY just got seated. Without much time to review the menu we placed our orders. While I understand that they needed to prepare for dinner, I feel that if they cannot provide an accommodating setting for persons with 430 reservations, they shouldn’t have the last reservation for 430. They even reached over us to remove centerpieces as we were dining. They rushed us to finish our drinks and close the tab. While the food, drinks, decor, and DJ were awesome. We definitely felt rushed.
The food is delicious but the service is TERRIBLE. Been here twice with horrible service (try waiting 40 minutes just to get your drink, & 30 minutes just for someone to take your drink order). There was hair in my food and because I didn’t keep the hair, they didn’t believe me and the waitress thought I was lying. They made me pay for the food too, even though I only had 4 bites of it. The manager never even apologized about the hair. Sad, but true.
Was not impressed with the food at all. Mac and cheese was too salty. Nothing tasted fresh.
The food is mediocre - the servers liked to gather and chat in one corner instead of paying attention to the crowds. But the venue on the rooftop is nice and relaxing, and the drinks are great. Also the employee working the check-in desk downstairs was awesome.
Entirely too crowded, and no room in between tables. You can hear other tables conversations better than the people you're with.
THE WORST SERVICE IMAGINABLE!!! Got seated where the sun was directly shining during 95°, no fans, no shade. we asked to be moved and they sat us at the patio where there was no one else around! Waited 15min for someone to take our order, but no one showed !!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!
Average food, poor service as they are very pretentious and bougy without offering anything cool in return. Overall, below average.
THE CUTEST PLACE EVER! Peak brunch status here. There was a jazz band and even though it was a hot New York day it felt cool because of the fans and how they blocked the sun. Would HIGHLY recommend!!
I really enjoyed the food. The charged us with 18% tip, compulsory.
Dinner on the rooftop was amazing! We arrived 45 min early for our reservation and sat at the bar for happy hour. $8 cocktails and apps. Chorizo Mac n cheese was delicious. Wonderful and attentive service with everyone from the bartender to the hostesses to the bussers. We were moved to our table when at our reservation time came. And we had the Groupon, which no one made us feel bad/cheap for using (for once)!! Such a great deal. Food is phenomenal. Everyone should eat here! Can’t wait to go back.
Drinks and atmosphere make the place worth it. The frose is to die for!!! Food is acceptable but not good. Pretty loud for brunch but it's has a party feel so it was enjoyable. Go for drinks with friends, enjoy the vibe, skip the food.
The place was cute and the music was good, but the hostess was eh and the food wasn't that great.
Great atmosphere and we loved Dandy Wellington!! Great girls brunch spot.
Loved This Place , the food and drinks were amazing
Great rooftop dining. Excellent menu and food!
1:30 just for foods ... terrible m. I think is not a good idea when you are 7 !!!
We were here for brunch this past sunday. The hostess was very nasty, well at least one of them. The other looked like she was training and was very sweet, but the one that looked more experienced had no idea what customer service was. She didnt open her mouth once. Didnt acknowledge me ever, I said thank you as I left, and nothing. I cant believe she still has a job, she was terrible. But the rooftop is so adorable. We were immediately brought water but it did take over 20 mins for our server to get to our table just to start us with drinks. We had bellinis and mimosas. Both drinks were good, didnt taste watered down like most brunch places you go. We had Avocado toast to start, and then my sister had the stuffed French toast (which I could not stop "tasting" off her plate) and I had the egg white frittata. Everything was exceptional. I will say it took forever to get the server to come over, but the food came out in good time. So overall, I give this place 4 stars only because the hostess was horrible, and you are the first part of the customers experience, you pretty much set the tone. And she made me want to leave as soon as I got there. And also because it took a while to start us with drinks. Glad I stayed though!
Fun cute restaurant. Outdoor patio is beautiful but could use of few more sun umbrellas. Food and drinks were delicious.
We went for brunch, the food was great and the drinks were tasty. We sat on the roof and they do a good job covering it so that if the sun is out you aren't in the direct sunlight. Live music is a little loud but pleasant. Overall it had an awesome ambiance and is a great brunch spot for friends.
Awful. Sat us upstairs and we DEFINITELY should have been downstairs! Served 1 meal 20 min. At least before other 4.
Went with my family for my 27th birthday and it was beautiful. The atmosphere was amazing. The food was good. I had the drunken chicken and it looked like a personal pizza which tasted amazing. I absolutely loved my experience there.
I came here for Lobster Bake night, and my only complaint would be - next time, I'd love to have a tutorial on how the hell to crack open a lobster! I struggled, but I made it through, mostly. The food was great, cocktails great, weather was good for a rooftop dinner with a friend. The value for the meal ($36 or so for a cocktail, lobster with potatoes, corn and clam, plus a pudding dessert) is pretty unreal, considering a cocktail on its own is around $16. Anyway, I'd totally do lobster bake again. Our server was a cute French guy who was lovely.
The live music was a great touch and ambiance was great. The host/hostess were slow to seat us, but it was a bit busy. The food was great, but portions were a bit smaller than expected--I thought there would be sides with dishes that usually have sides (like the Eggs Benedict).
Waiter was great and most of the food was great but they were kicking us out and didn’t even let us finish our Champagne bottle telling us to move to the bar.
Food was so-so... Cute place, better for drinks
