Went with my family for my 27th birthday and it was beautiful. The atmosphere was amazing. The food was good. I had the drunken chicken and it looked like a personal pizza which tasted amazing. I absolutely loved my experience there.
I came here for Lobster Bake night, and my only complaint would be - next time, I'd love to have a tutorial on how the hell to crack open a lobster! I struggled, but I made it through, mostly. The food was great, cocktails great, weather was good for a rooftop dinner with a friend. The value for the meal ($36 or so for a cocktail, lobster with potatoes, corn and clam, plus a pudding dessert) is pretty unreal, considering a cocktail on its own is around $16. Anyway, I'd totally do lobster bake again. Our server was a cute French guy who was lovely.
The live music was a great touch and ambiance was great. The host/hostess were slow to seat us, but it was a bit busy. The food was great, but portions were a bit smaller than expected--I thought there would be sides with dishes that usually have sides (like the Eggs Benedict).
Waiter was great and most of the food was great but they were kicking us out and didn’t even let us finish our Champagne bottle telling us to move to the bar.
Food was so-so... Cute place, better for drinks
Service and food were good but I couldn’t get over the noise level. It was torture and one of the most anxiety filled meals I’ve had. If you want to enjoy a brunch with friends and converse don’t go here.
I made a reservation for 4 at 9.30PM. We arrived as they were turning the place into a bar/dancing place, removing tables and chairs. We were asked to wait until it was finished to be able to sit. When we got our table 10min after, we were told that the kitchen would only be open for another 20min so we should hurry to order. And after that, they were in such a hurry to see us go that they took our half finished drinks out of the table and threw the check at us, our plates not even empty. Staff did not care, food was okay-ish, the music was so loud we could not talk. They should have told us while making the reservation that the kitchen closes at 10pm. I would have book another place.
The crowd is young, so-called important people, wannabe socialites, very New York.
If you like that kindof party place, go for it. If you just want to have a nice dinner with your friends, avoid it.
Paid a lot of money to be told if your not having desert we need your table as our restaurant turns into a disco . That’s ok but you should tell someone that when making the reservation
Nice place but a bit too loud for a date night.
The service was great! The dj for Saturday brunch was amazing!!! I will be back mainly for the music. The food and drinks were good too.
I have been to Hotel Chantelle on several occasions. Unfortunately this time the hostesses seemed less than competent. We waited over 15 minutes past our reservation time for our table when there were several tables available that we could have been seated at. We were not seated until after I went back up to the hostess stand to ask when we would get seated, when they quickly sat us because we had been waiting for so long. Otherwise the food was great as always, and I always enjoy the live music that they have for brunch. I would like to come back, but if we have another issue getting seated when there were at least 6 table that could fit us open, I may not go back again. The issue seating us was that there were large parties coming in. We were originally a party of 7, and it ended up being a party of 4 so we should have been easier to accommodate since we only needed one small table.
Good drinks and settings. Poor service
Bouncer extremely rude/ Hostess very rude to my friends who had arrived earlier and were having a drink at the bar/ Drinks really bad, had to have the bartender make a moscow mule 3x and finally gave up/ espressos we ordered took over 15 min to come and had to return them bc it was offensive to be served that. Never returning there again.
Terrible service okay food great atmosphere
Went out with friends and had a great time. The salmon 👌🏾and the chicken and waffles 🙌🏾. Highly recommend both.
Great bar atmosphere, great rooftop views and outdoor seating. We had amazing food ,they had a creative and fun menu. We drank delicious cocktails. The service was excellent, our waiter was very friendly and helpful.
Food was tasty but atmosphere was way too loud (had to shout to converse with your guests). Server was nice but didn’t stop by often and forgot our dessert. Also as they don’t separate bar and dining area, people kept bumping into the back of my chair as they were walking or dancing. Not what I was expecting as it was more of a party area than a restaurant.
My friend and I visited Hotel Chantelle for a shared birthday brunch and immediately fell in love with the rooftop ambience. From the soft live music to the fresh flowers on each table, there were great vibes all around. We started with rose then ordered the truffle tater tots (minus cheese), a chicken Caesar salad, and the quinoa bowl (with an added Impossible Burger on top). Aside from there being a little too much salt in the grain bowl, the food was great. Unfortunately, service was pretty slow - so definitely don’t go expecting a quick meal. Great for a brunch/lunch with girl friends!
Tonight was my 40th birthday bash and I was very disappointed with Hotel Chantelle. I booked my table for for 9pm by leaving a deposit and did not sit until 9:30p/9:45p. I arranged for the WOW dessert which never came out to the table due to a miscommunication in the kitchen. It was a very sad situation in which I left in tears of embarrassment.
Although I usually love Hotel Chantelle, it was way too loud today and the food took ages. I‘ve had better timing before
Very trendy place just wasn't for us. Very very noisy. Had to yell to speak to the person next to you. The tables are way too small for the large plates that the food is on. We were a table of 5 and they squeezed us into a small table. They should've pushed a two seat table onto the small 4 seat table but didn't do that. The bananas foster waffle was ice cold including the bacon. When told to the waiter he didn't seem fazed (probably couldn't even hear what we said). The burger was no where near med well - it was very pink inside and the side salad was drenched in dressing. The French toast was great and the avocado toast delicious. Very expensive bill for what we got especially since French toast was not edible.
I went her for my 30th birthday brunch. The ambience and food were great!!
Service was amazing , food was great, drinks on point. Happy hour prices were a great deal
Special thank you to my server, he was kind and attentive
Cool vibe, rooftop with live music, tasty food and delicious drinks.
Love this place! We went for a Kentucky Derby pre-day party brunch, and had a blast. Beautiful rooftop, love the live music, and the food is great. Highly recommend.
Amazing service and food
Great servers, sassy hostess, chilled atmosphere would come again!
Great space, excellent service, but food is ok. I got the salmon eggs Benedict...wasn't the best but LOVED the avocado toast
It was my first visit to Hotel Chantelle which i was very excited about after recommendations from friends. I had friends visiting from out of town so booked and unfortunately all out food arrived cold! The waitress was really friendly however the food was a huge disappointment. Would try out again for brunch but not dinner.
The bouncer and host staff were incredibly friendly!!!
Really great rooftop for brunch. The food was delicious and drinks were SUPER cheap (a brunch special). One of the cheaper brunches I have had in Manhattan without a compromise in quality. There is a live jazz band. The only downside is it is very noisy so definitely not the spot for quiet conversation. Overall a great find.
This place is amazing for Sunday brunches. Greet service and food.
Everyone from the greeter to the server were so rude. I spent my birthday there and it was the worst experience, never going back!
Very crowded and noisy! Loved there avocado toast. Not family friendly but definitely a go to place with friends!
We came for Saturday brunch to enjoy Dandy Wellington and his Band and celebrate our wedding anniversary. We brought our one-year old daughter and the staff was so accommodating. Our original table was in the sun, and when the awning turned out to be broken, they were more than happy to move us to a table where our little one would be in the shade. The food and cocktails were very good and the live music was fantastic. I wasn't sure if the atmosphere would be right for a toddler (like I said, we were trying to find a way to see Dandy), but it turned out to be perfect. Many thanks to the staff!! I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun, semi-outdoor brunch experience with fabulous live music - and with or without family.
We arrived late which I know is a no no with reservations but they took the time to accommodate us. Took a while to get us our drinks but they comped the first round which we appreciated. Overall I'm happy they honored our reservation and did what they could to seat us.
I booked for a rooftop bar, but the place was closed! Only working the hotel restaurant.
Took over an hour to get our food and had to leave. Wait staff did not care.
The food was amazing. The waiter was great. Waiting an over an hour for over priced food? Not great. The restaurant wasn’t even at maximum capacity. I’d still go back though. Avacado toast was perfect.
