An excellent venue for both small and large groups on the Mornington Peninsula.
Delicious food, great cocktails. Quick service. Outstanding!
Lamb pizza was dry. Food was average. Staff weren't the warmest. Great hotel though and beautiful views
I’ve been coming to the Sorrento hotel for over 25 years and I’m sorry and sad to say that the food at the Sorrento hotel was inedible and I ordered safely. Chicken parmigiana. I won’t be eating there again nor will I be recommending to eat there to my peers.
Food and service was really good! Very quick for a Friday night and a nice selection of wines too!
Good value meals and very good service would recommend highly.
The staff were lovely and particularly a you g ind the bar who was very Helpful
The food was amazing. The bar service was a little slow
We love Hotel Sorrento, the food never disappoints and the service is always amazing.
Staff should be better educated. We ordered 2 short black. Waitress brought the coffees without sugar or spoons. I asked for sugar. Waitress came back with 2 packs of sugar and 1 spoon (for 2 people)…
We wanted a good restaurant with a decent service. What we got was a loud place where we had to line up at the bar to get a drink and to line up again at another kitchen bar to order the food. Service staff brought us the wrong food and we had to ask several times for stuff…
It was a pub experience - not a restaurant experience.
We ordered Parma and snitzels. Just warm. Noise from music room so loud it came through to dining room. Used to dine there 10 years ago and food was really good.
Great food and good atmosphere will definitely be returning
It was extremely noisy from the loud music, we could hardly carry on a conversation.
One of us wanted to order the wagyu beef burger but we we’re told we couldn’t as they weren’t available after 5pm. After making further requests and asking if an exception could be made due to dietary requirements we were told NO quite emphatically. I don’t understand how they could cook a veggie burger but not a beef burger! Consequently one of our party didn’t order any food! If I was vegetarian or vegan you would be jumping through hoops to assist me. I don’t see us returning any time soon due to our experience on Saturday night. Thank you.
It was incorrectly called 'Lamb Shanks' when what they meant was 'Lamb Shank.' And I know much of Australia is in drought but this lamb was clearly undernoroushed. I've been to Hotel Sorrento probs 100 time in 30 years. This was embarrassingly bad. Just very disappointing after all these years. Gone WAY down.
It is a bit disappointed. The paste was hot but everything else was cold (mussels, prawn, fish...) When we were there last time in May, the food was very good but not this time.
Would recommended to a friend for food/drinks. Would not recommend staying overnight as cost higher than quality.
Our night was spoilt when we had to wait an hour between courses. The food was good. There was a group of girls four tables away and the noise was deafening. Staff very polite. Manager apologetic over food delay
Pretty bog-standard pub food. Average parma that was luke warm temperature by the time it came out to the table, and my girlfriend had the lamb shank which was again pretty pedestrian and for some reason had a handful of undressed raw baby spinach on the side, which makes no sense with shanks & mash other than to just put some greenery on the plate.
Wonderful vegan food, nice to see restaurants actually putting vegan food on the menu not just meat or vegetarian with the possibility of alterations to make it vegan. Vegan Tacos were amazing!
Phenomenal Food. New menu is sensational.
Hi Bruno, Thank you for your wonderful review. We really appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience and it is so pleasing to hear you enjoyed your visit with us. Warm regards, Hotel Sorrento
Outstanding food and amazing atmosphere for a nice anniversary or a dinner with girlfriends.
Food was delicious. Very good value for money and such a versatile menu. We started with natural oysters which were so fresh and delicious. I then had the fish tacos and entree calamari and my dad had a chicken parmigana - could not fault a single thing.
Ideal venue to enjoy another fabulous long lunch with old friends . Great variety of classic hotel choices and modern cuisine, in a great setting .
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Meals were reasonably priced and well prepared.
Well expectation certainly wasn't met. On arrival children wresting near the door on the floor.Seaside hotel limited seafood on menu. $4.50 an Oyster no table se vice you have to order drinks at bar and food at bistro. very dark on terrace couldn't see menu without phone torch. Food was pricey but not disappointing. Range of menu limited. Not as good as we expected .
Great food. Super location and friendly staff.
Lovely food in a beautifully renovated “Bistro”
The ambience is really nice.
Food was very average. Eye fillet almost inedible due to sinew. The schnitzel was $28 but a kids size. Main fish was 90% batter. Mussels seem to have been partially cooked and reheated. Very tough and rubbery. A very disappointing meal as the location is great and we have had good meals here before.
The lighting was so poor you could hardly read the menu. One table of guests near us asked to be moved as they had to use their phones to read the menu!
The ambience was great but service was very poor and very slow. Food was average. Wouldn’t rush back
Food was really good however we had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for our food to come out, even though the food was nice I definitely wouldn’t wait that long for food again.
We eat at the Sorrento Hotel reasonably regularly. Our meal last night was somewhat disappointing. One of our party ordered steak which was tough and he was unable to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls.
One salad we ordered and paid for was never delivered. Another in our group ordered the same fish special she had ordered a week before and said it wasn't as nice as the first time.
Meals took over an hour to arrive, clearly under staffed, no apologies. Noisey and Very expensive for a basic pub meal. Cheapest bottle of wine is $47. Won’t be going back.
All the staff were super friendly and polite, food was amazing and didn’t have to wait long at all! Will recommend to everyone I know
website didn't operate to book a table , had to make a call
NO idea from website if live music was available
Food overpriced, expensive eg $30 for basically an entree size tagliatelle pasta
menu extremely limited
An excellent venue interns of location and access. Food and beverages were very good and reasonably priced. Service was both friendly and very efficient.
In comparison to our experience, before the latest renovations at the Sorrento Hotel, this was rather disappointing.
The menu was limited and the main specials were for two people.
Over all however the food we ordered was good.
The deserts were disappointing.
Good food presentation mains $30-50
Very noisy when busy, had a nice steak $45
The food here was ok but very overpriced for typical pub fare. There was a hair in my meal but, since you have to pay for your food when you order (drinks as well, there is no table service which makes the prices even more over the top), they couldn’t offer me any kind of discount. They didn’t offer a free drink/dessert or anything either which was disappointing, and since there was no table service, I couldn’t tell them about my issue until they cleared our plates. There are much nicer places
Beautiful meal, paired with a nice, affordable wine. Great atmosphere
Booked for Mother’s Day for second session and many options not available as they had run out. Dips were not dips but olive tapenade and cheese. Mushroom pasta main was small and could have done with some fresh herbs or Parmesan cheese on top. Husband said calamari was just ok. Bit disappointing for a special lunch. Food not as described.
