House of Ho - Fitzrovia
Nice outside seeing with great view over Charlotte street. Excellent duck spring roles starter and attentive staff. Main course was almost cold and after the main course we fell into the classic attention abyss. When will restaurants learn that I might want to have coffee or desert or the bill. After 30 minutes of being totally ignored we actually called it a day. Shame. Could have been so much better with a little bit more attention.
Everything was great apart from a gentleman that appeared to be a Duty Manager and it seemed that his English wasn't great so there were 2 situations where we didn't understand what he meant and felt he was a bit rude. Luckily we were looked after a waiter after that so service, communication and food was great. However I'm not sure we would stay if Duty Manger was looking after our table. Food was outstanding, drinks great and overall a good experience. We would definitely recommend.
Menu was fantastic on paper, however they really need to work on their dumpling skills!
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better. Please feel free reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance.
Good food, but can get quite expensive as realistically you need more than just a main. Was a problem in the kitchen when we went so service was very slow, but they took the service charge off without asking so I’d say that service is good!
At first it seemed really nice. Food was so good. The service was good. The drinks were nice. But after a while the service just took a dip. After eating dinner they just left us. They didn't ask if we wanted any dessert or another drink. We literally just sat at the table with nothing on it. Even getting their attention was hard. However the food is nice enough for me to make a return visit.
A great restaurant with a nice atmosphere, good music and very friendly staff.
I really liked the menu on offer. It has a great selection of foods and drinks which would be a winning combination for anyone who likes/loves Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisines.
Definitely recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a great selection of foods and a nice atmosphere.
The place was noisy even at lunch. The soup was like water - tasteless.
The mini dishes and starters I think are much better than the main dishes. For the starters we ordered prawn dumplings, chicken with garlic and calamari which was very tasty. The main dishes were a bit of a let down as the rice was undercooked and the green chicken curry was too sweet. I think if you’re going here then definitely order more small dishes.
The House of Ho is a nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal. The Food was fantastic and service very good, staff were both attentive and friendly. Recommended.
Food was good, staff wasn’t!
Service was great even though they got an order wrong but were quick rectify which I like. Was on a first date and they made sure that we had a nice quiet area to chat. Well done House of Ho.
Loved all the starters and the Pho. We were a group of 8, so probably drowned out all the other noise around. Would definitely come back again. I only wished the beef Pho was halal.
Very nice overall, fabulous starters. Only slight criticism is that the Pho could have been a little fuller in flavour, and the herbs that were served alongside could have been more plentiful and fresher (they looked like they'd been in the heat for some time and were wilted - still tasted good though). Still absolutely worth a visit though
Everything was wonderful, food was delicious and well presented. Only downfall was the service, waited at the door, no acknowledgement from the sushi chef, not even a smile. Waited there quite a while before being sat down, took quite some time for order to be taken.
Really noisy due to hard walls and floors. Service was fine when it was around, but had to wave every time we needed anything. Possibly short staffed.
Food was also fine but did not warrant its price.
Lively lunchtime venue. Good food, some of it a little pricey. I'll go for a Pho next time, as they looked great value and very filling.
Lovely greeting on our arrival. The staff were so kind and showed us to our picturesque table by the window. I love looking out onto the historic streets of London and watching the world go by. This was perfect. Table service was on point and they could not have done enough for us. The food was amazing - try the steamed Seabass...
Thanks so much!
Food was delicious, had a slight issue with one of the dishes but staff sorted it straight away
Some good dishes, some less so. Worth a try. Prawn and mango was not our favourite, but beef rending was so tender and just the right level of spice.
Overall food was really nice however Pho was quite disappointing , boiled with sweet potato which made it very sweet and not tasting authentic at all. Not sure about courgettes and broccoli in it either. Price the same as at Pho restaurant but definitely nowhere near the quality.
Would recommend both veg spring rolls and prawn tempura
The Pho was below average, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Most dishes were similar to in a Thai restaurant rather than what I've had in Vietnamese restaurants. More vegetarian mains would be good (there was only 1) so had to just have range of starters. Really nice room, not noisy so very nice place to be.
Very nice place with great food and lovely ambiance.
What a fantastic restaurant this is. The food is absolutely delicious which was accompanied by a very helpful an attentive waiter who advised me of as to what would be good and with such fussy dietary requirements I was very impressed with his knowledge. The Yellowtail Sashimi and Prawn and Mango Salad was divine. Wine list was fab too, will definitely be coming back.
Very enjoyable meal for myself and three others. Each dish ordered was very tasty and the service was very good. I recommend this restaurant.
Spring rolls terrible. Vegetarian pho uneatable.
We have been to the House of Ho on a couple of occassions and have always enjoyed it. Good food, service and pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.
Love House of Ho- great Asian food and service. Have been a few times and it's always a pleasure to go back.
Best spot on Charlotte St. to sit outside and soak in the sun by a long shot. The duck salad is just to die for and the cocktail list is great too. Love the House of Ho.
We very much enjoyed our latest visit to the House of Ho. All of the dishes were very good/excellent but the crispy duck salad with melon was exceptional. Warmly recommended.
Amazing food, great quantities and really good quality. Service great too - very attentive
A nice place with a wide variety of asian cuisines. The prices were definitively a bit higher than your typical Vietnamese restaurant but the food was generally better too but not consistently.
The food is really tasty and great for sharing. The staff made the evening really special as it was my bday and they brought out a cake which was nice. I’d really recommend house of ho, great staff, great food, and a good location.
Really delicious food - all the best flavours of Asian fusion. The waiter was helpful in assisting us to order the right amount (its a confusing menu of big/small/sharing plates) and the drinks prices were reasonable especially ordering wine by the glass.
Great little restaurant with the best view of Charlotte St. Sat on the cosy terrace for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the Crispy Duck Salad. Very friendly waiter served me throughout, top stuff.
Lovely food and atmosphere. The watermelon and duck salad is a must. Cocktails were delicious. Terrace was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations and attentive throughout. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.
We booked the House of Ho for a quick business lunch and it was fantastic. Great food ideal for sharing. Very cosy restaurant
Food was delicious topped with a very kind waiter. Nice quiet spot at the end of Charlotte street. Thumbs up.
Great food and nice atmosphere.spot on service
The food was decent but was spoiled by the worst service I can remember having had in a restaurant for a very long time. First waiter didn’t speak a English and took down the order with limited success, had to ask a few times for the wine after food was already served, literally everything bar 4 dishes arrived at once, when I pointed out half an hour later that we were missing 4 dishes (and I specified what they were) I was rather patronisingly made to feel like I was being over anxious and should just relax. An hour later half the missing dishes arrived - and when I enquired as to the missing two, I was told that we never ordered them at all and the waiter then became extremely aggressive. When my friend pointed out that he was being aggressive, to his defence he did comp us all a glass of wine and remove the 2 late dishes from the menu (we never got the missing ones) but his attitude and the sloppy service quite spoiled the meal unfortunately.
