Pre-theatre menu was interesting and delicious. Service started well but was over-familiar, seeing our clean plates: “I don’t need to ask if you enjoyed it, you obviously hated it, haha!” We still had half an hour before the theatre so we ordered dessert but then, despite few occupied tables, the service paused. After half an hour we had to chase the dessert and it was found immediately. That server said, “sorry it wasn’t ordered by me”. The food was excellent and the first two courses delivered quickly, so the very slow dessert was a disappointment. I would go back again.
Overall a good evening that was ruined by an extremely rude employee called Elina.
Instead of ordering mains which were quite pricey for each dish we recommend ordering a bunch of mezzes to get a taste of the menu. Visually the restaurant is stunning, but the prices on the menu do make you think ouch. We enjoyed our dishes, and the service was quite pleasant. Overall this is a place to go when you want to splash the cash and a bit of a treat.
We booked for 5, had a table for 4 (with 2meter hight men) and they would tell us it’s normal and we can leave if we don’t want to stay.
No one would clean our plates after eating, cocktails would take 20-25 minutes to come, we would ask three times for salt and olive oil with the grilled fish (it never came) etc.
250 pounds per person you would expect much higher quality.
Really nice place with good food! We have been only for bottomless brunch but we were really happy by the service
We went for the pre-theatre menu and whilst most of the food was lovely (the spaghetti pasta was not up to scratch but they did remove it off the bill after tasting it themselves) it was dead inside at 6:30pm. It did start to get busier around 9:30pm so I don’t know whether it’s more of a late evening eating place. Good if you want a quick quiet meal before the theatre or a date night.
Very nice staff & ambience during New Years Eve dinner.
I have had enjoy and had an Excellent and Great time
Very good service and food. Will definitely come there again!
Awesome dinner at a favorite
Amazing food, great menu, incredible choices and flavors. Service is outstanding, from reception to final closure. Thank you for a memorable dinner.
Amazing atmosphere and great music
Food was 10/10
Hovarda was lovely ambience and nice food, but nothing extraordinary for the price, which was a shame. Otherwise we enjoyed it very much, group of 4 friends for dinner and drinks.
Fantastic pre-theatre menu and food is delicious. Only negative is it's way too loud to have an easy conversation because there's a nightclub upstairs and the music is blaring. We also didn't like being approached at the door outside asking why we're entering. I understand this is how nightclub checkins work, but for dinner out before theatre its quite off-putting to be approached in this manor.
The service in the restaurant was good and the food was really nice.
Once having finished dinner and continued our drinks upstairs, the service from one of the waiters was absolutely appalling. That experience would really put me off recommending anyone to go for drinks at the bar upstairs.
Wonderful portion sizes ( pre theatre menu).
Okay so the pre theatre menu was great, tasty food and brilliant value. However, being told by the head waitress to get your foot off the seat in public by her shooing you in front of your guests sets a bad experience all round. I have arthritis and as such find it really difficult to get comfortable. I was sitting on my own foot so not causing offence until my medication kicks in meaning I’m not in pain only for the staff to make a beeline for me to publicly tell me to remove my foot by waving at it loudly and stating your foot, your foot!
Other than that; £18 for four tiny pieces of halloumi as a meze and the cheapest wine is £33. Not going back and not sad about it.
Friend’s pre birthday dinner.
We ordered from the pre theatre menu - food was EXCELLENT
Service was warm and great.
Restaurant even prepared a great surprise for my friend, marking a great night before her birthday weekend.
Very friendly staff, great food and an amazing ambience.
Great new restaurant in the West end.. Loved it
Loved the food, fantastic wine & Champagne. Our server Amandine was fab!
Terrible food combined with terrible service. They are so indifferent they didn’t even bother asking why we were leaving without eating the food they brought. I don’t think they will last long in this city with this attitude and bad food.
Had brunch and LOVED their hummus. And the Turkish egg was good too.
Wanted to try the smoothie, but they were out.
Fantastic food experience and great value for money would go again.
The restaurant is quite pricey and the service was almost a bit too fast. We were asked to order several times even though we were clearly still deciding. However, the food and drinks were very good and the ambience excellent.
There was an emphasis on the quality of the food presented rather than quality, which I very much appreciated. Quite expensive at £95 per head for a table of 3 with just the one bottle of wine.
This will be my one and only time at Hovarda. I was a regular client of Yosma and was happy to come back to Hovarda when they moved to Soho. Everything besides the atmosphere was terrible. The food, cols, waited long time, not a proper dish, breads not fresh, they do bottomless tea in their menu and everytime when you ask for a new one waitresses were upset to serve. The food doesn't taste at allm I don't know how to explain. I was with foreign friends and invite them to a nice restaurant hoping to have a nice Turkish meal, brucnh but no way. I would even ask for a refund. Please feel free to offer a brunch of 4 on the house to us sometime reallym this lovely atmosphere is wasted with cold, not tasting food and bad service. It doesnt worth the money.
It's a shame the staff are so indifferent in this restaurant as the food is very good. The decor is really good and a lot of effort has gone in to the final look of it.
However, the service was awful, and our waitress kept telling us to hurry up as they needed our table, then would disappear for ages so we couldn't order. The staff make a huge difference to the enjoyment of an evening. We won't rush back .......
Delicious food, great service and super friends personnel. Have been several times, never disappointed!
Food and service were excellent.
We looked it up and it seemed to be a nice looking place before our theatre. I have never had worse waitress in my life! She was so strange, never asked for drinks, would take one persons order and leave and did not ask for starters! Then when we ordered G and T she did not bother to ask which gin( other waitress did). Food was so bland and average! For the 300 pounds we spent I think we felt cheated ! Would not recommend this place at all!
Excellent service and a great location.
The ambiance is great but unfortunately the waitress was extremely impatient, because we were not ready to order.
This time the octuple was over cooked and impossible to eat.
The food was excellent--a combination of Greek and Turkish, each with modern twists that unveiled different flavours and textures. The service was outstanding--Lorena had great recommendations, spent time explaining the subtleties of each dish and each wine. And the ambiance is very upbeat and festive, elegant but casual at the same time, with tables far apart enough from one another to have private conversations but close enough to feel festive. All and all, a great find!
Hovarda was an unexpected surprise. A great place, very nice service indeed and good food. An overall pleasant evening. There was just one comment to make. The waiter removed our plates and glasses as we emptied them, it would have been nice to wait for all of us to have finished and maybe there would have been some more wine enjoyed.........
The service was extremely rude and disappointing, ruining our entire evening - we have been rushed through the entire meal; the food was taken away from us even though we said we were still working on it; after having ordered another bottle of wine we have been asked to leave the table and were not allowed to finish it, with no apologies of any kind.
Accueil désagréable et suffisant Malgré la réservation
Pas de tri entre les personnes qui ont réservé tout ceux qui essayent d’entrer
Une fois le sas passé et 30 min d’attente...repas correct et bonne ambiance musicale à l’étage
Our server Maxim was great! He gave us good recommendations on food and wine. We had to go upstairs to finish our drinks in the end, then the whole music scene came on, it was deafening! Tried to get out of there quickly but had to wait for the coats, even though there weren’t any customers waiting...
Great ambiance, the food selection and quality are excellent, the bar upstairs is great but the service is not the highlight.
Lovely tranquil setting in the chaos of Central London. The food was unusual but very tasty, and the service impeccable. It's not cheap but the brunch menu is good value.
We were sat on a beautiful round table but cold drops of water fell from the ceiling on us all night. Also the air con could’ve come down a bit we was all very chilly! But 10 out of 10 food :)
