Hudson Yards Grill
Worst service I’ve experienced in years, maybe ever. 20 minutes waiting for a waiter. Had to beg for service at bar. Took another 20 mins to get waitress to pay bill. Awful. At one point, I stood at the bar to waive down help and there was literally no one working the bar. Everyone was gone. Saturday night at 8pm. Required waiving and begging for any type of service. Never again.
Food service was extremely slow. If it weren’t for our server, the whole experience would have been terrible. Food is decent.
The bar was slow getting us our drinks, but they were great once got them. The food is outstanding!
A bit pricey, but this is New York City. The ambiance was very nice, lighting made it cozy, but not so dark that you could not read the menu. We each had the 2 course prix lunch, i had the chicken which was fresh, juicy and expertly seasoned. The gnocchi was good, bit a little salty for my taste the spinach chips were beautiful to look at, and delicious. My guest had the house salad which look like meal in itself, and the quinoa rissotto, which she throughly enjoyed. With a bottle of wine our tab was 130 for two.
The wait staff was attentive, polite and knowledgeable.
Food was good, but service was spotty. Place settings at our table were not complete at the start, and utensils taken after appetizers were not replaced. We had to ask for forks and knives after everyone had their food. The serving staff was nice, but the details haven't been worked out just yet.
I was at Hudson Yards Grill for the first time on Friday 11/08 and my experience was very disappointing. My fiancé ordered a cocktail and after drinking it for a few minutes, he realized they was a FLY in his drink. I called the waitress right away to show her the fly and she grabbed the glass out of my hand and ran to the bartender asking him to make another drink for my fiancé. We did not accept the second drink because we were disgusted enough. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager told me in his own words that they are having some problems with bugs right now and it’s the reason why the fly was on our drink. He also told us he would come back at the table to check on us and never did.
We went to this restaurant thinking it was the best place of all Hudson Yards, we picked the most expensive steaks from the menu, unfortunately things ended bad for us.
The food is tremendous and Our waiter was fantastic. Can't wait to come back in.
The fried chicken might have been the best fried chicken I've ever had... Like hands down.
Rib eye was great a well. Perfect temperature and seasoned well. The bone marrow was an excellent touch for sure.
Friends from out of town.
Great food great service great people
Nice atmosphere, but the service and food do not live up to the environment. I assume it’s still just growing pains, but they really need to take it up a notch.
My first dining experience with Hudson Yards Grill and it will not be my last . . . Spencer was a wonderful server and we look forward to dining again at Hudson Yards Grill!
Took coworkers out to a special thank you meal. Everything was really fantastic. Dining room is beautiful and the service was excellent. Food was delicious and the prices are in line with the quality. We went a little crazy and got drinks and apps and entrees and sides and dessert (and coffee). It worked out to be about $125 a person. You could definitely have a great meal for less. I would recommend this restaurant and I hope to come back.
Service was perfection! Food was very well prepared. Would have liked to see a little more variety on menu or a special being offered. A little pricey but overall very good experience.
Great service and the food was outstanding! Will recommend to anyone.
It wasn’t great. Appetizers were good. Dinners were not good. Burger was dry. Fried chicken was all breading. Swordfish was over-cooked. Would not go back.
Great after performance at Shed, quiet.
Excellent fried chicken plate with pickled veggies. Reasonably priced wine list.
I had the lunch chicken entree with crisp spinach and gnocchis. It was delicious. My dining partner had a salad. She loved it. We also had the sweet rolls ($7). They were delicious and well worth it. The chicken entree was $33
Our server, Tanery was fabulous. She made the dining experience even better.
The restaurant had a lively upscale look and the diners were also upscale and fun.
I would return again and recommend. If you are looking for outside views though, there were none.
Everything was wonderful... the food, ambiance and waitress. My clients were super impressed!
Had a quick lunch here yesterday. The dining room is huge, with the back wall glassed in to show an exhibition kitchen. The Manhattan clam chowder was flavor and full of clams, served with oyster crackers, very nice. For s main course, I had yet fried oyster appetizer. 8 plump oysters, lightly breaded, fried and served with a house made remoullade sauce. The oysters & sauce were a great combination. Food & service outstanding.
First outing here was very positive. Nothing out of the box, just really good food served efficiently with a smile. Decent spacing between seating areas, and a modern, inviting but not challenging decor. A nice place to enjoy friends or family or simply have a meal whilst shopping. Will be back
Good option at Hudson yards. Pricey.
Was looking for a casual, middle of road restaurant that was family-friendly offering children’s options at Hudson Yards. I had my 10 year old child with me. This was recommended by the concierge who are available on the floors offering help. When we walked in the hostess immediately questioned me about my daughter’s age when I asked If we Could have a Children’s menu. My daughter was Clearly a Kid, perhaps tall for her age. The hostess seemed very accusatory in her questioning her attitude was as if I were Lying Not a
Great first impression to walk into. Truthfully I wanted to leave At
That point but we had limited time
To research and find
Another place To eat. The choices at HY
Are Limited if you want a nice family fr. Meal, not “Shake Shack”. My daughter ordered the flatbread which she loved. It came with a salad which was great however it was a mixed greens (delicious to me) but most kids will prefer Romain or iceburg. So the waitress graciously exchanged
It for that for my daughter. I had wanted the halibut and needed butter free and gluten free options. This restaurant can not accommodate that for most meals which was limiting. Also the halibut I was informed was made With bacon in the recipe. Was hoping not to mix pork With seafood so I opted For the chopped
Salad which also was
Heavily laden with Bacon. Have to be honest expected more
From The menu options. The booth seating was a little awkward sitting right next
To the kitchen you can hear everything the kitchen and staff are saying especially if they are Returning something you ordered etc. This restaurant was off the mark to me as I hoped More from the name. More
Options that could be“grilled” w/o butter etc. Food quality was good. The salad was fresh my daughter’s meal was terrific to her. Our waitress was awesome. She was super Friendly and accommodating. The menu should have more variety with a little more flexibility w/ health consciousness & sensitivities
The restaurant was unimaginably quiet on a Sunday night. We got charged $14 for the so-called in-house made fresh bread ! The bread was ok but nothing special and definitely not worth $14. I have never been changed for bread at any other restaurant, including the Michelin Rated Restaurants ! Will never go again !! Very disappointed !! Even business is bad, the restaurant shouldn't charge customers for bread when appetizers and entrees were ordered.
Food was overpriced and salty. Waiter was ok, but did not expedite even when I told him we had an event to go to. They tried to seat us in an undesirable area, I spoke up and they moved us. Probably would not return. Dessert was delicious cakes.
Food terrific service even better
The ambiance was wonderful and the staff were accommodating as we had a baby stroller. The service was impeccable. Our server, Gabi was knowledgeable as she suggested wonderful dishes for our party. She was also very accommodating as my wife is gluten intolerant. Gabi definitely went above and beyond in her service. We will surely return as this has been hands down a lovely experience. We hope soon. Cheers! And thank you to the 5 star staff at Hudson Yards Grill.
We had a wonderful time at HYG. Our meal was excellent, the presentation and service was impeccable.
Chef need to put less salt on Steak and not burn onions and mushrooms Cake was old.
Food was delicious--e.g. halibut, gazpacho, fried oysters--all excellent. Friendly service and big banquets that somehow muffled the noise. A bit of a bridge and tunnel atmosphere assisted by interesting sculptural art. Relaxing.
We were visiting Hudson Yards for the first time & it was lovely to have a wonderful restaurant to enjoy & relax in between walking. Our waitress was excellent & informed. She suggested sharing the burger & fried chicken & we were not unhappy with those choices. We also shared the roasted cauliflower with delicious salsa verde. As most diners mention, the only thing missing is a great view!
Nice option for better dining at Hudson Yards mall. Though the temperature was frigid when we arrived, they either adjusted it to a more human level or the addition of more diners' warm bodies did the trick. Server was very accommodating, offering tastes of wine before committing to our selection. Service was good and the food was very nice, although the Parker House rolls were drenched in butter. Perhaps the server could ask if we would have preferred them without. A guilty pleasure for sure.
The service was great from the minute we walked in. The host was friendly. The service was nice. They were very attentive. The food was excellent.
Beautiful place, but just OK food. My client was not impressed. I would recommend it for a burger but not much else.
We were served wine in a dirty glass...they changed it out when we complained but nothing else...
Party of 7 family dinner. What a great ambiance of contemporary dining. We received a warm welcome, professional and experienced service and elevated menu options. Hudson Yards offers luxury shopping and Hudson Yards Grill a casual to classy dining to match. We were comfortable enjoy to wear jeans, but felt classy enough to afford a special dining occasion.
Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection our server’s recommendations were spot on. Swordfish is a must try. As is
Yellow gazpacho soup.
Our sever was fantastic , & the food was amazing
Great location in the heart of the new Hudson Yards shopping mall. Beautiful dark wood panelled interior and soft lighting. Get the burger for lunch -- the chef is nationally famous for it. It's the best one I've ever had!
Great service and food!!
Great place...have been several times and look forward to more...
