Hunter 486 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
A blind choice from the internet but what a find. The welcome from having our coats taken at the door to the smile from our waitress as we left was warm and friendly. We sat in a booth that gave a feel of intimacy as though we were the only people there. We were only reminded that we weren't by the laughter of other guests. The knowledge of our waitress about the drinks and the food was really impressive and exceptionally professional. Will be revisiting when the chance arises.
Wow, what a hidden gem! Enjoyed a fantastic thanksgiving dinner here last night. The service was excellent- we were absolutely blown away we could get such great service in London! The food was amazing- the bread is made in-house and everyone at our table was going crazy for it. We had to get a second round! The suggested red Zinfandel wine we had with dinner was wonderful.
The staff in the lobby and even the doorman was so kind. I had a baby and they made every effort to make my visit comfortable and enjoyable. They had a lovely tea service in another room I noticed so I’ll definitely be coming back to try that out!
Big thanks to everyone at the hotel and restaurant! Kudos to whoever trained them! 👍🏼
First time diner here, made a last minute booking with my mum to eat here before going to the theatre. I wasn't expecting such good food and service, was really very impressed. I will be going back in future, as will my mum who has already organised a return trip with friends.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Quail and the Stone Bass. The service was excellent, with everyone being polite, friendly and helpful. The venue was the perfect place for a reunion with a friend from abroad. A good wine selection. The pricing was in keeping with the overall ambience of the location.
This restaurant is found inside The Arch Hotel in Cumberland Place. A boutique five star hotel. The food served was amazing! We picked the pre-theatre menu and had Duck with apple and coleslaw, Guinea Fowl, with tiny potatoes and cavolo nero. For desert I had cheesecake with sorbet. A nice wine list. The food was really lovely and the service outstanding. I would recommend coming here.
Used Open Table to search for restaurant period or attending Marble Arch theatre and Hunter 486 was listed with strong feedback record. Al a Carté menu plus a pre/post theatre set menu that looked great and was priced very competitively. So glad we decided to follow the feedback and done here. Lovely setting near the Arch, great service and the food was outstanding. Best meal we have had for some time. We will definitely be returning to Hunter And would commend it to all. Thanks to all staff.
Came here for my husband's birthday. What a find! Food, service and ambience all wonderful. The staff were amazing, we had a lovely table. Attention to detail was second to none, with a chocolate and fruit Happy Birthday platter for my husband! Thank you for making our evening really special.
Excellent food and excellent service from all the staff - one of the waitresses remembered me from a previous visit several months ago! I was especially looking forward to having the soda bread again, which is delicious. The menus offer plenty of choice and new dishes are introduced in the set menu, which changes on a regular basis. We sat in a comfortable booth. I am looking forward to visiting this restaurant again.
Extremely fond of this restaurant, it's tucked away slightly off main street, but not too far of a walk from station. Services is professional, friendly yet discreet, food was amazing, cleanliness, noisy level, comfortable seats....etc just perfect. Hunter 486 defo deserved 5stars.
The set menu was good valued, we had salt beef and salmon salad as starter, plaice fillet and duck confit as main. raspberry white choc mousse, marinated strawberries with lemon curd ice cream as dessert Plus ordered an extra choc fondant with salted caramel ice-cream. All well presented and taste delicious.
What truly amazed me is their soda bread, we asked for more. Oh and the cheerful attentive girl who got us the recipe of the bread, top notch service!
I'm fairly torn, I selfishly wanting to keep the amazing place a secret but it's too delightful to not share
We would not usually consider a dinner within a hotel but Hunter's is different. The hotel is a boutique hotel and the restaurant is definitely a special place. The staff are welcoming and efficient and provided us with excellent recommendations for our food and wine (with a taste for each of us prior to us deciding!) There is wide choice on the menu, including a tasty vegetarian option.
My husband and I were very impressed with this restaurant. Selected from the luxury restaurant guide being near to where we were shopping for a lazy lunch, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff struck us first of all. Then looking at the various menu options available and the very good wine list, it became obvious very quickly that we would be back to sample more. On this occasion we both ate from the Express menu which we would highly recommend both for food quality, quantity and price. 5 star!
Formal, but cosy and friendly, and we felt very relaxed. This was in part due to the warm welcome from the staff, who were extremely attentive and convivial throughout. The food was very good, but the main courses were a little overpriced and there could have been slightly more inventive vegetarian choices. The desserts, especially the sticky toffee pudding, were wonderful. With the wines being a little too overpriced also, we left feeling happy with our experience, but a little reluctant to go again soon.
Hunters 486 is a little gem of a restaurant which is a great find in Marble Arch. The outside décor is deceiving as the inside is very modern and plush. The service was excellent with the waiters being attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent tasting and fabulous quality.
really great find. This restaurant serves great food. We were a group of frineds with kids ages 6 to 17 and evverybody was happy with their dining experience. I'm told the pizzas are amazing but I can only comment on the fantastic fish stew to start and lamb main course.
WE highly recommend for pre./post theatre or simply a get together.
Fantastic setting, menu and wine/cocktail menu. Service could not have been more attentive and friendly, we were never rushed or crowded and stayed in our booth for most of the afternoon! Although I felt the bill was quite pricey in comparison to other restaurants of the same caliber, I would still recommend highly for a special occasion.
I booked this restaurant having found it during one my intensive searches of new places to eat while in London. I found it on Open Table with 5 star reviews and I booked it.
I was not disappointed, nor were the rest of my party. The service was very charming and the food was very well presented and tasted great. My niece had a chocolate fondant to die for and I admit that we all looked upon lustfully as she devoured it.
The menu its self covers a good range, I had steak, my husband had Dover Sole, two had lamb, one had the gourmet burger and one was vegetarian and had the choice of several dishes.
We all left very happy and very pleased with the entire evening.
P.S. The cocktails were also superb and different from the usual selection.
We had a lovely time here and the staff must be commended for their child friendly attitude. We shared the chicken for four, it was nicely cooked and the potatoes were good but it was a very small chicken I thought! Veg is extra. The puddings looked very nice but as I was on Lent I had the cheese board which I thought was overpriced for the quality and amount of cheese and crackers. However the overall experience was very pleasant and the childs fish fingers and chips looked scrummy
After Thursday late night shopping. Everything was faultless, from the food to the service. The round booth we chose was cosy and private. The food was incredibly delicious: my lamb shank in a big bowl, meat falling off the bone, with veg and a side of fries. My dad's steak was a bit on the thin side but still tasty. I would have liked to have tried the desserts but was much too full. Have already recommended this restaurant to my boss who will be making a visit soon!
We were glad we followed Tripadvisor recommendations and chose this restaurant for an evening meal on a Boxing Day. It is very conveniently located off Oxford Street shopping area, offered a very peaceful and quite dining atmosphere. The starters were very good, I must praise their very tasty artichoke soup with hazelnuts and truffle oil. The fish and chips was very light and well done, I had an excellent ribeye steak. A part of the dining hall is separated into niches so you can have your private meal there without distraction. I would recommend this place for anyone who are looking for a similar experience.
