About
Great thanks for everything. Service was perfect! I'll come again.
Staying at the Arch, so picked Hunter 486 for convenience and the menu looked good. Ambience low key, as only one couple dining when we arrived, but there were six of us so we made our own atmosphere. It did get a bit busier later on, but not as buzzy as one would normally like. Service was good though and the menu was varied and well executed.
No atmosphere, restaurant empty.
Staff unenthusiastic and uninterested.
Food quality very poor.
Will not be returning.
Excellent food and service. Preparations were all excellent. Highly recommend.
Have eaten here twice. Both times food was exceptional as was the service. Very nice place in a great neighborhood.
Nice food and atmosphere for a relaxed brunch with family and friends.
The flavour of the food was incredible. How they do it I will never know. Very good
The service was perfect. We could not wish for more. You made my partner a perfect birthday breakfast. Thank you for that!
The food was amazing. We will definitely be back again.
Sophisticated, modern restaurant tied to boutique hotel nestled in Marylebone provided a lovely Mother's Day tea and outstanding service. Espresso brulee not to be missed and scones were excellent.
This is a difficult experience to review. The food at Hunter 486 was extraordinary - the seafood soup, seared tuna appetizer, fish, spinach & mushroom tart, and salted caramel tart were really amazing - not a single disappointing dish.
Unfortunately, the whole experience was severely marred by truly unfortunate service. There were three waitstaff working on a Friday night and one bartender, who also sometimes came out to help with the tables. There were never more than 25 people in the restaurant at any given time. I witnessed two parties need to get up, walk over, and ask for either service or the bill. We were seated and presented menus quickly, but I had to ask three times for our water. After getting the first small glass, no one refilled it until about 10 minutes after we'd finished our main and I had to ask, at which point the server brought the bottle over. We were never asked if we wanted a second glass of wine, which we both otherwise would have ordered. The food did come out while still warm, though. Twice we were given a vague apology - once when our mains were brought and once when we were brought the bill and our server could tell I wasn't especially pleased with our experience. Although I appreciate their acknowledging there were issues, it doesn't eradicate how the experience wasn't up to expectations. Two management-looking gentleman showed up after we'd finished our meal and were bustling with plates, but they should have been around an hour earlier.
One last note - I saw a server take the wineglasses off of a table of 8 who had been sitting for at least 20 minutes but weren't going to order wine and put those glasses directly in the glassware cabinet above the register, then grab them to re-set a table. I know U.S. health codes forbid this. Maybe it's okay in the U.K., but it didn't give a good impression.
Overall, I can say that for the food, this is a five-star recommendation. I saw some other reviews on another site mentioning service issues.
This was by far the BEST meal we had in London. The courses were individually and meticulously prepared, presented cleanly, and perfectly paired. In addition, Martina and Charles provided amazing service! The experience was 5 star at an affordable price. You’re missing out if you haven’t been here yet or if you haven’t been here in a while.
The restaurant was fine but the food and service were uninspiring. I had the quail and sea bream which were OK but the the competition being so strong in the London restaurant market, I would have expected much more for the money we paid.
The French fries on the other hand were excellent. There are so many better places to eat at that price point.
We enjoyed a special anniversary meal and at the end we given a complimentary board of petits fours on a slate with Happy Anniversary written in white chocolate which was a memorable touch. The food was delicious with reasonably generous portions and the service was attentive but not overbearing. For us it was perfect.
We came for Christmas Day with our 12yr old so not a usual dining menu to review. However we were greeted with friendly faces and allowed a seat at the bar as we were early! Nice non-alcoholic cocktail for our daughter which got the day off to a good start. We found everyone friendly, helpful and accommodating and we had a great booth seat. The food was good, not massively exciting but as I say, it was a Christmas Day menu so I can’t judge on normal service. Wine was very nice for the price and we had a lovely day. I would prefer to go again to really judge the chef’s capabilities but we could not complain at all. The ambiance was a little subdued but then people were coming and going all day; there was no set time to eat. Would try again
Has Christmas Lunch here and it was excellent. Service was super friendly and efficient.
Recommend it.
Absolutely fantastic food. Very much enjoyed the meal and would absolutely go back. Tasted as good as it loved, and it was beautifully presented.
Perfect choice for our work Christmas meal 2018, thank you!
This is the second time we have dined at Hunter 486 and we are still pleased with the friendly service and great food. We enjoyed the 3 course Christmas set meal.
This was my second visit and the service from every member of staff was geninely courteous, warm and smiling.Nothing was too much trouble. It is a comfortable restaurant with cosy smaller tables for pre or after dinner drinks.Delicious food.
Very attractive entrance lounge and ladies cloakroom.
We enjoyed our lunch very much at this lovely hotel. Good food, lovely decor and very good staff. The reception staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The cloakrooms are very impressive. Next time we are in London we are thinking of staying at the Hotel itself.
Food was really nice, but everything was rushed.
We were only halfway our aperitif and the starter was served. 3 min after finishing starters, main was served.
The restaurant was not even half full so don't have a clue why they rushed .
A lovely evening in a stylish restaurant however food portions were very small and hence not value for money. Wine list extensive but expensive. Rather hefty service charge applied. Would eat here again but for special occasion rather than everyday dining.
Great food! Lovely wines. Friendly service. Meals came too fast after eachother.
We had the 3 course dinner menu. The service was very pleasant and attentive, the table very comfortable.
The food was OK the flavours tended to be very good, the fish was on the overcooked side. Overall I feel that the food was a bit lackluster for a restaurant of this standard and price bracket.
We had a lovely meal here for my partner's birthday. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding, very attentive and polite. I'm very happy that I booked this restaurant, it lived up to the expectations I had after reading all the online reviews. Thank you!
The staff were exceptional in their welcome and care. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and well presented. The decor is tasteful and furniture very comfortable. It was quiet and thankfully no irritating background music. I would strongly recommend.
Excellent food, great service. Would definitely recommend.
We ordered afternoon tea, everything was good. But the scone is quite hard, not soft, a bit dispoinnted. The service was great, very welcoming, nice amosphere
Very friendly and warm service, food was very good quality and plentiful.
Very good meal - pre-theatre menu so keenly priced. Well-appointed dining room, with open kitchen area. Good, if pricey, wine list.
Very good meal with excellent service.
It was an outstanding dinner - rating one of best I have ever experienced.
This was our first visit here and a pleasant evening with good food and service.
Wonderful location to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in a personal atmosphere. The royal wedding afternoon tea was fantastic and delicious.
The restaurant had a good selection of meals. It was my friend's birthday, at the end of the meal my friend was presented with petit fours and a candle which was a nice gesture from the retaurant
Set menu wasn’t great so opted for a la carte.
Asked for rare steak and got medium - well .
Food was tasty and average.
The restaurant never disappoints. The food is excellent and it’s a lovely quiet place to have a pleasant meal.
Good staff and food. Quick service.
Booked here in advance of a trip to London with my wife and two youngish children on the strength of ratings and reviews. Very pleasantly surprised. Really welcoming and very good food indeed. Not what I really expect from a hotel restaurant but as good as many places we have eaten with Michelin stars. The kids loved it too and were looked after as well as us. Highly recommended.
