Fine dining experience at a reasonable price! The service was excellent. Menu choices were great and lots of GF options
We had amazing lunch, although, didn't have any expectations, as place was closed and we passed the old building many times, but this time, we booked the table...
Service was spot on, precise and informative, great.
We had beetroot and feta for starters, I had white fish and my partner- salmon , we also ordered salads, cooked vegetables, everything was really fresh, full of flavours...
We also got suggestions about wine selection, and it was really nice, thank you, particularly Italian white, which we never tried before...
Overall, we are coming soon to try other menues, as we have been there on Sunday.
Thank you so much.
We had a great evening, food is amazing, serving team really friendly & provided good service. Wine is sold with thoughtful insight.
The menu provide good options. I had the salmon starter and lamb shoulder cottage pie, both dishes were divine. My wife had the sea bream and loved it. The service all round was excellent and our waiter was very knowledgeable on the produce and wine. The decor outside was lovely. The downside for me was that their wines were really expensive. I will visit again.
Excellent service, delicious food and fine wine made our meal extremely enjoyable, only down side was the slightly loud electric piano which accompanied the singer, who was very good.
It would have been better to have provided toast rather than having to ask for it and then to have given butter and preserve
The food we had was fantastic! We were, however, disappointed that my partner had to remind the staff that his main came with a jus which he only remembered after he'd started the course. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine each which was a nice gesture.
We were also quite horrified on arrival to see, what looked like a Manager, decanting one bottle of opened Champagne into another over his finger, quite viably on the bar counter. That is a red flag no matter the establishment!
The pianist playing was a lovely touch and the staff were all very pleasant.
Our first visit, loved the place shame mine and my friends mains were not hot but the manager quickly felt with the problem. Will be back soon
We have been to the Hurley House a few times and spent a few special occasions there. We really enjoy the time and the food there.
Another excellent meal at Hurley House Hotel. We were lucky enough to be outside as the weather was so wonderful but the service was just as good as when seated inside. This place ticks a lot of boxes- great food and service, very pleasant surroundings both inside and out, great ambience. Love it.
After a break I have been twice to Hurley House recently and have enjoyed the experience. The staff try very hard to make you feel at home. Food and wine of a good standard. Tried the sushi which I do not usually like and the blackened cod was perfect. Will be back.
Exceptional service as always and a fabulous pianist to add to the wonderful atmosphere. Our friends were very impressed. Not a cheap meal by any means but justified by the beautiful surroundings, perfect staff and truly wonderful food.
Dining in the Hurley House Hotel was a nice experience. It was our first time and we liked the atmosphere in the restaurant and the friendly staff. The food was very good, we enjoyed it. Also -weather permitting - you can eat outside on the nice terrace.
Fabulous lunch for a special occasion for my friends....the pate and prawn cocktail were great, and the sea bass and steak perfectly cooked.
Very attentive service and the wine waiter was excellent, really knew his stuff.
Will go again thank you
Lovely venue and atmosphere! Enjoy going there regularly
The decor inside and out is 5 star, amazing.
However, no been a few times and this last visit wasn’t good.
Both had the Sunday roast, one beef and one pork. What spoilt it for me was the gravy. One small jug for both meals and so rich and dark, it did not go with pork.
For the prices they charge the pork should’ve had its own gravy.
The wine is also crazy expensive.
Gorgeous place with excellent food. Lovely to have a bar and casual area then more formal dining.
I’ve always enjoyed coming to Hurley house but usually only to the bar, this time we went to the restaurant . The meal was delicious and everything else perfect. This place really is my favourite.
Excellent afternoon out for Father’s Day couldn’t have a table till 4.30 so it was quiet but didn’t alter the
Experience, food was excellent as was the staff couldn’t do enough.
Love the decor, brilliant.
I also like the fact it states smart dress code.
Great food, attentive service, perfect for a date night! We will be back for sure
We had a lovely stay and the food in the restaurant was excellent
Love Hurley House. Service is excellent and food delicious; friendly and attentive staff. We have eaten dinner here a few times; lunch and had a spa treatment on another visit. We will also try the Afternoon tea and breakfast.
Super meal with great service. Pork main was fantastic as was our pudding! Great wine advice too.
We arrived a little early in order to have a drink before eating. We ordered two drinks that were Not on the cocktail list but that did not phase the barman.
We were shown to our table and given extensive menus ,also told of the "daily specials "
We duly ordered a prawn cocktail .and prawns wrapped in parma ham. Delicious !!
Special was Hereford filet steak which we both ordered. I am fussy as to the cooking of my steak , but this was ace.
Desert was a mousse in a sugar bubble , phenomenal. And a cheesecake with chocolate mousse.
The wine waiter listened to what we had to say and then suggested a medium priced wine to go with our main course. Would definitely go back again.
Always amazing service and the food was gorgeous
Great décor and design in the building and gardens. Nice restaurant with excellent food and wine choices. Service unobtrusive but good. Slightly strange to have two specials of two beef cuts.
Mentioned on phone when booking was confirmed that it was for my sisters 50th birthday and they said 'don't worry we will make sure it is special for her' - they did absolutely nothing at all - very disappointing.
We have eaten at Hurley House several times and have never been disappointed. The service and food is really excellent. For example we popped in one Sunday a while back on the off chance. We just wanted a bar snack but as they were serving Sunday lunch they were not doing any food at the bar, which is quite understandable. We were having a drink when the waitress came over and said that they manager had said we could have a starter from the main menu as a bar snack. I had the duck parfait and it was delicious! We have been back recently for an evening meal and the choice was excellent, and I could have gone for several of the main courses. I had the lamb shoulder shepherd's pie which had beautiful pieces of meat, and was unusual and delicious.
We had a 2.30 sitting for a Sunday lunch, 4 of us had a very good, salmon blini and Burrata and tomato and the duck liver parfait starter, really excellent . The mains were 2 Sea bass dishes which were also very good and 2 roast pork which were not good, the potatoes and yorkshire puds had been reheated several times and were rock hard and inedible. We told the waitress a couple of times but she seemed disinterested, my husband asked her to mention it to the chef. It was disappointing as it was a birthday treat.
They were kind enough to do a 'Happy Birthday ' message on a plate of petit fours though.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the restaurant was so dark and onto the rd, fine for winter or evenings. I think they need to open up the back dining room onto the garden which is much lighter and better for spring/summer dining when not quite warm enough to be outside.
Keep evolving Hurley House you're getting there !!!
Always love coming for breakfast here. Fabulous food, lovely staff and good value.
We had a really lovely evening from the moment we stepped through the front door.
The service was great, very friendly and charming.
Our table felt like the best in the house, and the food and wine absolutely delicious.
We will be back!
Lovely food, the woodpigeon was amazing. very attentive and super polite staff!
We were staying at the Hotel for a couple of nights. On the second night we ate at the hotel and it was one of the best meals I can remember. The Pea Soup was superb. Good old fish and chips might sound basic fare, but I can say without doubt it was the best I have ever had. And as for the bread and butter pudding! The choices were limited, but frankly I have no problem with that. In my view you always get better, fresher food with a small menu. Superb. Pity I don't live locally.
This is my second time for the visit. A very enjoyable lunch. Just keep up the quality, that is all I have to say.
Staff are much improved.
Forgot a single desert
Amazing place staff and food
Great experience apart from white wine not chilled.
The staff at Hurley House are always very friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent. Can’t recommend enough!
Amazing setting with great service. The beef was the best we’ve ever had
We took some friends and had a very good meal, the prawn cocktail and burrata/tomato starters were delicious we then all had the Chateaubriand which was excellant, though the rare one was 'blue' and a little cold, I guess thats inevitable.
Keep it up HHH, I'm hoping for a change of menu soon....it's been a while?
Also think the blinds on the back windows in the restaurant would look good on the roadside windows, better than seeing black cold glass at night.
Great to have on our doorstep, looking forward to brunch outside in the summertime.
