Came with friends to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Waiting for starters for ages then the main courses were delivered before the starters.
My friend’s starter of pigeon was inedible - couldn’t cut it.
When fish course arrived - seemed overlooked.
Incredible slow service. 20%deducted off bill which helped to mollify us a little but it made a celebration not such a great occasion .
Champagne and wine very good.
A very enjoyable lunch in a very relaxing environment with the right level of attentiveness. Excellent food and very well looked after during our visit.
An absolutely wonderful evening eating outdoors with special friends. We were greeted with a warm welcome; the ambience was relaxed; the service was excellent and friendly; and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious - a special thanks to the chefs for this superb meal. I look forward to eating here again soon!
We ate outside as the evening was warm in a very nice courtyard area. The service was very attentive without being overly so and the food superb . Very impressed.
Excellent staff very friendly. Lovely place to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the Friday guitarist. Thank you
Outstanding anniversary dinner, food and service were excellent, will be definitely coming back
Beautiful decor inside and out, finished to a high standard. Great seating outside surrounded by beautiful plants.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Brunch was simple and delicious.
Lovely surroundings, great Gin & Cocktail list. Friendly and attentive staff. Food outstanding, especially the Sirlon and Fillet steaks. Our first visit and we will be back for afternoon tea and spa treatments.
The food was fab and the service was great but £43 for two simple breakfasts pus one coffee and two teas is ludicrous even by Henley standards
It's a great place but the value just isn't there
In the summer the outdoor space is perfect for a lazy Pimms o'clock. When we visited there was a live guitarist playing. The restaurant inside is warm, dark and cosy. It would be perfect in the winter. The atmosphere was romantic. The service was very good - the staff knew their stuff - but a little slow (but then this isn't somewhere to eat if you're in a hurry). The food was excellent. Very tasty and good portions. High-end but not too pretentious. I'd go again.
Good service and lovely venue. Let down by poor food. To many issues to name. I have left a detailed review on TA.
Had an excellent lunch in the outdoor area on Monday. Food , service and ambiance was very good.
Such a lovely dinner! Aspiring Michelin star perhaps?!
The service was very poor. Miserable waiter who took ages to take our order. Took other tables that arrived after us.
But spoilt with piped club music which really didn’t match the surroundings.
We were very impressed with the food. Felt the staff / service could be a little bit more relaxed.
We have been to Hurley House on a number of occasions and it has never disappointed us. The food was superb and the service impeccable. I would highly recommend Hurley House.
Service was a little haphazard and slow - not a problem for us on this occasion. On the upside staff were very honest about what they were learning and there was no urge to push you out the door once you had eaten. Certainly we were not treated as a 'number'. Starter and Dessert on the Set Menu were excellent. On the Main course, the pasta dish had a little too much lemon. Wine was reasonably priced. Overall a place with a nice ambience and a very good value for money lunch menu.
Delicious food and lovely outdoor setting for a sunny bank holiday weekend
Very disappointed. We had booked breakfast for 11am. On arrival - 5 minutes late - we were told by an unfriendly manager, that we had missed breakfast and should take a seat, have a drink, and wait till lunch at noon. I said no, we didn’t want that. He disappeared to speak to the chef then returned and took us to our table. Food was ok. Service slow, but one charming waiter with dreadlocks - he was the best thing about the place! When we got home I checked their website and it says clearly that breakfast is served until 11.30!
I sent an email stating all this, and surprise surprise I haven’t heard back from them. I very much doubt we will go again.
Excellent in every way - great service and awesome food
A really special place to eat where you are assured of beautifully presented food and top class service.
We are on a very quiet night. Service was well informed and pleasant. Food was very good with one small element disappointing. Wine list was good and we enjoyed a great Greek red.
My twin sister and I came here for our birthday meal. We were treated like VIPs it was a lovely meal, delicious food and amazing service. Thank you!
My wife and I were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Finn and Michael Chapman were very attentive, and I would like to make a special mention of Tony Thompson. We had many joint interests, and he was very helpful and friendly.
Another excellent meal with outstanding service. We will keep on returning.
Excellent service and truly beautifully cooked, imaginative and sophisticated food. Very surprising and wonderful experience. We were staying at Cliveden and were quite disappointed by the food there. Hurley House Hotel wipes the floor with them.
New venue and we were not disappointed, great venue, good staff, great food etc and will be returning soon.
A lovely setting, the staff were friendly and for all courses the food was extremely good. Would highly recommend Hurley House and will definitely go back.
The Hurley House Hotel is quite stunning. Beautifully finished, wonderful food and attentive service. We have previously only eaten in the bar which is dog friendly so this was our fist visit to the restaurant. The restaurant was too warm for all of us. My only other niggle was that the white wine was served in a "cooler". A beautiful copper cooler but a cooler non the less. I found this very disappointing and presumed they didn't have ice buckets until I saw another table with an ice bucket. I asked for ours to be changed as by this time, with the excessive heat in the restaurant, our wine was no longer cool. They took it away and put ice in the cooler underneath the bottle but I am still stunned that a place of this quality does not provide ice buckets by default. A cooler is not actually a cooler in my eyes but simply something that slows down the warming of the wine.
Very nice place, good food and service but very expensive for what you get
Very expensive, not excellent in any respect, food very average, ambience okay, service okay. They run out of wine we were drinking and didn’t have any bottles available of the same variety or something close. Overall very expensive when you consider that we paid over £80 per head across five of us for what really was nothing more than an average village pub
Service was ok but prickly and had an arrogant air. Food was lovely.
The food was delicious, we shared the chateaubriand, and the service was exceptional. Lovely cocktails and tasty desserts. Would definitely recommend
Had a very enjoyable lunch here at Hurley House Hotel. Although it was only a Tuesday lunchtime, the restaurant was busy and everything was perfect. Have already booked to have my Birthday lunch here.
Another fabulous experience at the Hurley House Hotel. Fantastic service and ambience, and a first class meal. An enjoyable way to spend Mothers Day!
This was our first visit and we will definitely be going back!
Beautifully styled; Very welcoming team of staff; Fantastic food; Great cocktails - a really great find!
Great evening throughout, can't fault it!
The service, food, wine and general attentiveness was exceptional.
We will be back!!
My only criticism is that the restaurant area is way too hot i'm always cold and we had to move to have our desert.
Excellent food and service in lovely surroundings. Would highly recommend for quality food
Had a lovely lunch excellent service. Would recommend
