Brilliant experience. We were there to celebrate our anniversary along with one other couple. Food was fantastic. So were the cocktails. Service was good too. They took care of allergies and vegan requirements.
Roast duck was the best.
The food was average. There were a lot of staff standing around, but it took us 10mins to catch their attention for the bill and another 15mins for them to bring it. The view is spectacular, of course, if you are lucky to catch it on a sunny day
Lovely meal with good service - overall a great experience!
Wonderful view and great food. We enjoyed our dinner there.
nice food and excellent view. We felt welcomed! The food is modern Chinese cuisine - creative and delicious!
Perfect views and good very Good lunch deal. Very nice stmodphere
Celebrating my best friend’s doctorate award. Superb ambience, great company and amazing food. The staff was extremely friendly too and made our experience even more special.
Thank you ! We will definitely be back.
Fabulous location and a very good standard of food. If you like Yauatcha the food is of a similar standard. We were lucky to have a clear sunny day which afforded us great views. You pay a hefty premium for the privilege of eating and drinking at high altitude but as an special occasion place you are less likely to be concerned. I found the service a bit rushed and pushy but otherwise it was a very nice experience.
Food was delicious, and the view from the Shard was most entertaining...
Fantastic. We’ll be back.
The waitress was quite rude in explaining why a restaurant in London doesn’t sell British bitter beer.
MERAVIGLIOSA VISTA, atmosfera suggestiva, menu ristretto e cibo non all’altezza delle aspettative. Servizio non troppo cordiale
Fantastic food and great view with top service
Awful service. Staff seem either not happy to work or had no customer service training whatsoever. Felt uncomfortable from the beginning until the end being served by the lady who waited our table.
Wonderful views of course. Lunch set menu is lovely but could be more varied
The service is terrible, the hostesses are not very helpful. The food is not tasty and not all is available. I with my family arrived at the appointed hour and waited 40 minutes for our table. Came to try the vaunted duck and it was not available. I can’t recommend this restaurant.
nice views, nice deco, nice food, good for date night
My favourite Chinese restaurant
Incredible food and service! Some of the best food I’ve eaten. Can’t wait to go back - the beef tenderloin and pork dumplings were very special.
Good, but not great. While the staff was more or less polite, it seemed as though they were all in a rush to get you in and out as quickly as possible - which can take away from a nice evening. View was beautiful and the food was very good. We were right up against the window, which provided an excellent view, but it can get a tad cold. You're going for the view more than anything else.
Great food served by a great team
The attitude of the waiter was very impatient and rude when ordering. Such a pity for the good view and food.
Great food, excellent service.
Things to improve: We were sitting close to the bar and most people would go past the bar and walk between restaurant tables (which is not pleasant when it happens a number of times during your meal) to sneak a look at the view on Tower Bridge. An extra screen should be considered to avoid disturbing restaurant guests.
Despite this, overall it was a great experience.
Poor service good food
Everything was delicious and service was great. Would definitely go again.
Food quality and dish sizing were above expectations. Most of the menu has a spicy element in it, but delicious nevertheless. Service could be somewhat improved for this price point, especially around menu knowledge. Price was on par with our expectations for such a location.
Would likely return for another special occasion.
Great dining place with a view, but food is kind of disappointed. The duck slice are cold and wraps are dry. Not the quality that we expected. Overall, high-end and decent Chinese food place to go to.
It was the best dinner with the best view we could ever have!
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. However, we were not too impressed with the service. As soon as we arrived we were told that we would have to order within minutes before the kitchen closes for a break. We did not even get to order our drinks and the waitress was standing by our table hurrying us up. We also had to order our starters and our mains together, before the kitchen closed. Having not visited Hutong before, we were completely unsure as to how much we wanted to order for mains as we did not know whether starters would be filling. We ended up over ordering! By the time we had finished eating, the restaurant was completely empty and staff were preparing for dinner service. However, we still had half a bottle of wine left. Our previous waitress had left but the new waiter was extremely helpful and managed to reserve us a table in the bar area for us to finish our wine. Overall, - delicious food, great views, bit overpriced, and SOME good staff!
I have been to Hutong at The Shard before and it was excellent.
This time I went with my 13 year old son and to be fair we did eat early, at 12.00 noon but it was dead.
We were perched on a small round table (great views though) and the service was not great, with simple "no's" to requests of whether they did X or Y to eat. Fussy teenager.
In summary not a good place to take a teenager IMO, especially if you are expecting a lively, vibrant restaurant - at least not that early.
Obviously only I was drinking and with service the bill was £260!
The food was excellent, the views magnificent, and the service quite good. The truffle edamame dumpling and Peking duck in particular were sublime. Will be back for sure.
Awful experience. I asked for a particular menu to be left on the table. That wasn't done.
Tried to upsell everything.
Horrendous experience. Never again
Food was lovely, but service-wise it constantly felt like we were being rushed out of our seats to make room for new diners. My friend and I were having a catch up lunch so we’re talking and eating and every 10-15 minutes, a waiter would pop by and peer over our shoulders to see if they could take away our food and bring over the next course or not, which felt a bit much.
Overpriced substandard food
Excellent views, great food and lovely atmosphere. Perfect for a special occasion
Beautiful ambience with some of the most impressive views of London, great food and service. Dark and perfect for date nights...
Nice food and view but still left hungry.
Food is of decent quality, service is reasonable and view is good especially if you are sitting by the windows.
The price is not he best value for money as one may expect but still came out of lunch after a meal feeling hungry despite the fact we have ordered for more than 3 people for table of 2.
Good experience but probably just a tick box exercise.
Simply marvellous as we were looked after so well and the food and service were both excellent and the restaurant Manager was especially kind and helpful as it was our anniversary - thank you all so much once again and we shall be back
