Visited Hutong for a birthday treat. The whole experience was amazing! Excellent service, stunning views and the most delicious food. Pricey, but well worth every penny for an unforgettable meal. Would highly recommend.
It was our first time at the Shard . I enjoyed the experience. I will visit again very soon. Service was amazing.
Food, service, welcome have all gone totally different from previously!
You do get good portions of food. Value for money. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Could only have starter and main and could hardly finish the main. One of my friends was vegan and her meals were so delicious I didn’t even miss the meat when I tasted it. Need an upgrade on the cocktail list. Apart from that I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Service was poor, no real engagement from team. Requested a table by the window didn’t provided or mentioned it. Pushed us to leave while we have not finished desert yet. I understand every table has a time slot but chasing customer to leave while there’s still food on the table was just poor service. Takeaway in paper boxes but no bags provided, we had to carry 3 boxes of food while leaving. Hygiene wise, Saw them cleaning table next to us using only paper, not disinfection or spray. No hand sanitiser provided on the table, very rare considering prices you pay for and all other similar priced restaurants in London are offering. We’re used male and female toilets both were cramped and dirty. Lots of people taking photos in toilet and no traffic management nor timely cleaning.
Food wise, expensive for the average quality, it makes up with a view. Far away from authentic food and decent experience. Not going back soon or recommending it to others.
lovely food the best egg fried rice i’ve had anywhere!
friendly service and the view was lovely
It was my wedding anniversary. We went for the set menu, the food was delicious, but it wasn’t enough. I thought the portions should have been doubled
Good views with tasty food.
Without doubt one of the best restaurants in London that we have visited. Food was superb, service was attentive but not overbearing and …..that view. Superb night out - thank you.
We had a very pleasant experience at Hutong. It wasn’t cheap but the service was excellent, staff were very attentive and friendly, food was authentic (the duck is a must!) and the ambience was fantastic (we had a table by the window so the view was great). Lastly, obviously there was no open window but I could feel that the place was well-ventilated. Would be coming back. And thank you to the staff from Indonesia (didn’t get his name) who gave my daughter a complimentary dessert with a candle (we were there to celebrate her exam results).
We spent our anniversary with our two little ones. We where abit nervous taking them but the staff where so good with them made them feel welcome. We had the vegetarian lunch menu and ordered some seperate noodles and duck for the kids which the waiter suggested. There was so much food and it was all so tasty! They brought out an anniversary dessert which was a very kind gesture. Only negative was I wish they had an attendant keeping the toilets clean but if a let down. But overall very good experience.
Blunt staff, deteriorating decor, too fast paced and lack of atmosphere. Quite nice food
Absolutely fantastic service. Nothing more to add at all 😁😁
Really enjoyed lunch there today.
Lovely food and not really expensive
Incredible experience. Setting and window table was insane. Food as good as expected, cocktails and service even better! Wow
Lovely vibe and great food. Was looked after well when they saw that I had an injured ankle when I turned up in the taxi
Best Chinese food I have ever tasted.
We were celebrating our son’s 17th. Everyone made us very welcome.
Great food. Great table. Great view. Great service.
Nice overall, staff are really friendly and helpful too
I visited Hutong for a pre birthday celebration as Boris Johnson had announced we were going into a second lockdown which would see me celebrate my birthday alone. The ambience was very nice however our food and drinks were unsatisfactory. Our waiter wasn’t the friendliest either. Thankful for great company that made this experience because it definitely was not the food and the service.
Dining at Hutong’s is always a wonderful experience for the senses. As well as delicious food to feast upon, you are accompanied by great service and magnificent views of London.
We always leave Hutong’s with a feeling of ‘what a wonderful treat’
Looking forward to returning again when able.
Delicious food and the location and views are terrific. One of the best in London!
I have enjoyed coming back to Hutong repeatedly over the last 3 years... I look forward to visit again soon...
Nice ambience, great views and friendly staff. Food was good - not exceptional, but good.
Very expensive (£250 for dinner for 2 - cheapest bottle of wine over £60).
Priced at Michelin level but not really that standard.
Our table for 2 had one chair with its back to the view which wasn't ideal when you are paying for the view!
There is no doubt Hutong is a stunning restaurant and we were lucky enough to be given a window seat. We started with dim sum platter which were delicious, then Duck, then soft shell crabs -my husband had 1 type of veggie dim sum , a tofu dish and chefs rice without egg. We were advised by waitress we could order more but felt so rushed we were only in restaurant for probably 11/2 hours. Our pancakes for duck were stone cold which was not great and duck not really hot. Soft shell crabs were really good but only 2 of us were eating them and so we had 6 and no rice/noodles or anything else suggested even though I asked. We had nice desserts and a little free birthday desert.basically for what we paid it was very average apart from setting which was fabulous-I feel it is all about the turnover of customers and we wouldn’t go back or recommend it. It wasn’t bad, our waitress was pleasant, food was tasty but......is it special-no! Is it expensive for what it is-yes!
Attended Hutong for a friends birthday and the service was poor from our server. The food/starters are not freshly cooked. The ratio of dried chilli to protein is crazy! So much dried chilli and barely any protein.
The customer service was appalling I find the staff rude unfriendly. I will never go back
Really fantastic setting and great food. Good for a romantic evening.
Could not ask for more , moved to a window seat when it became available , the food was excellent had my favourite duck not being carved due to covid totally understandable
it was not so busy which made a nice change but not good times for any restaurant right now
been here many time the food and service are always consistent
will be back
the food was incredible and although I am so terrified of heights it was an amazing experience !
Have eaten here on a number of occasions and is always first class. This time didn’t disappoint was amazing. Food is outstanding and the level of service in both the bar and restaurant is brilliant. Also the cocktails are to die for.
As a customer who’s been there before i was disappointed because i spent the same but the service was under expectations. The food menu is very limited which I wasn’t told of when i called them few times prior my arrival, the birthday cake for my junior was just handed on the table, no happy birthday song, no nothing unlike on previous occasions when we’ve been there for birthday occasions. Also, you have no paper menu...you have to scan a bar code on the table and then you have to remember or write down what you want because there’s no way of selecting anything on that menu, is just read only. The good thing is the atmosphere which is still very nice, the food is nice even tho the menu is very limited. Drinks very limited aswell, only 1 type of beer for example. And the main issue was that although they knew i will bring my 8 years old with me it was no food for him. All the chicken is marinated and spicy and they didn’t have any plain chicken for him for example, very very limited menu for him. Overall, avoid Hutong during Covid as if you’ve been there before you will be disappointed.
Our welcome was friendly and current covid 19 procedures evident and explained to us. The menu was varied and absolutely delicious and I would recommend the cocktails, including non alcoholic ones. A special mention should be made to Tiziana who noticed the sun was in my eyes and lowered the window blind and then checked I was comfortable. The views as always were outstanding and all in all, a very memorable occasion.
Great food, amazing view, fantastic cocktails afterwards . A real treat
We was seated in a nice cabana and had a wonderful experience, on this clear bright day. The beef Tenderloin tossed in green chilly was particularly tasty.
Service was excellent.
Incredible views, great food, good service but terrible setting.
Excellent tasting menu. Used Sep Eat Out.
Great food and service
