Wonderful to be able to have dinner out again and at one of our favorite long term restaurants I Ricchi! Comfortable well spaced outdoor tables with a very nice menu of wonderful dishes and as always signature professional and courteous service. We shared the perfect calimari- crisp and flavorful very lightly fried, fresh and flavorful caprese salad and for an entree - a delicious dish of fresh baked cod with dill, canneliini beans, and pinenuts.
Can’t go wrong at I Ricchi. Dine out delightfully and safely!
A spectacular dinner on the patio. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Great wine list.
Great food and service! The chef came out and talked to every table and was very welcoming. Would recommend
The food was FANTASTIC! We enjoyed a long, leisurely dinner and everything was perfect. Chris puts a lot of love into her cuisine. Perfect evening! Thank you! ♥️
The restaurant had only recently reopened. Dining was outdoors in widely spaced tables. The service was great and the owner spent a few minutes at each table talking with diners and thanking them for coming. We began with two appetizers, tortelloni and prosciutto with melon. Both were luscious. Ditto for our mains (secondi) of beef tenderloin and chicken parmigiana. We were already very happy when our desserts came, and that doiubled the pleasure: an amazing semifreddo and and a delicious tiramisu. Amazing evening and a great way to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary.
It was lovely. Went there for our anniversary after not being able to go out for months because of the coronavirus pandemic. We had a table outside. The food was wonderful. I ordered Atlantic Cod and loved it. It might not be for people who done like beans, which is what the fish was confined with, along with a lot of dill. It was pricey, but after everything was wonderful and after so long without being able to go out, it didn’t sting.
We had a wonderful dinner there with with friends that we adore and the attention to detail the quality of the food and service were impeccable
Large, very pleasant Italian. Warm ambiance. Gracious welcome. Excellent pasta, fish. Good service. Decent wine list. very good pricing
Always a delight to visit i Ricchi, from the ambiance to the warmth of the staff to the exquisite food. I don’t get into DC as much as I used to, but my lunch reminded me of how great an experience a meal is at i Ricchi. I will most certainly be back very soon.
Great food and exceptional service from our server. My only deduction comes from not being immediately attended to by the hostess who had us waiting at the door when there were empty tables everywhere and no one waiting before us, and we had a reservation. I had the floor manager initially walk past me and say nothing until she came back and asked if I had been attended to. I said no because I was still standing there and I asked if I could please be seated. They finally obliged and sat me and my companion. Other than that experience, the restaurant was superb.
A bit disappointed. Octopus was mostly bread and salad.... fish was ok..... the food is made without inspiration of 20 years ago in its Beat years
Everything was great and it was well worth it.
Eveythg about this restaurant is excellent.
Great restaurant. Enjoyable in every respect. I'll be back!
I Ricchi is one of the most enjoyable and dependable dining experiences in the DC area. Outstanding, fresh and flavorful Tuscan dishes, a wonderful wine list, attentive and welcoming service in a very comfortable space. Most highly recommend I-Ricchi for lunch or dinner. It is genuinely pleasant dining experience you should not miss!
Tables are small and we felt it’s ark ward to have a good business lunch.
Return visit. Veal chop and octopus panzanella very good, as was the filet mignon. Sautéed mushrooms inconsistently spiced and cooked.
Wine was not good- a ‘97 Barbaresco that was past its prime. The lace should know it’s inventory’s condition.
Awesome food, great service!
My dear friend was in town this weekend and I heard a lot of good things about I Ricchi so I decided to book a dinner there. We got calamari for starter. It tasted good until I found hair in the calamari. We called the waitress over and said that we think there is hair in here. Immediately she kinda laughed and said oh really it can’t be, which is pretty annoying. She brought the calamari back and said they will check in the back. NO APOLOGIES whatsoever. She came out and asked: “what do you want to do now?” I was put in such an awkward situation and so I said I don’t know. She said well we can bring you a new calamari plate? And I said sure. So she brought the new ones out and we were cool with it and said to ourselves this is going to be great. She came back later and asked:”Is everything good now?” which annoyed me even more because it sounded like it’s our fault and we’re making this up or something. Either way, the waitress really needs to be trained better than this. THE MANAGER OR WHOEVER THE IMPORTANT PERSON IS CLEARLY KNOWS THE PROBLEM BUT NEVER ONCE STOPPED BY OUR TABLE TO CHECK AND/OR APOLOGIZED TO US. Anyway, Food was fine but the whole experience just brought it down. We were charged full priced for everything, NO COMPENSATION at all. There’s more, Things turned WORSE when my friend got a really bad stomachache 20 minutes after leaving the restaurant. We went to the Kennedy center for a concert but my friend spent half of the concert in the restroom. IT WAS AWFUL. I’m really VERY disappointing.
This is our favorite DC Italian restaurant. Always excellent in so many ways. Food service drinks and atmosphere. Outstanding. We’ve been coming for years. I highly recommend. The veal Milanese was incredible. As was the Corvina bass. Server and staff are always excellent. Great evening as always.
Fabulous, authentic Italian dining
I love the food at IRicchi, and I love that the restaurant is local and woman owned. Always an outstanding experience!
Had a wonderful time! The staff was simply amazing and the food was to die for! We had a great time!
Fabulous flavors and attentive staff. The special with truffles shaved at the table was wonderful. The gnocchi melts in your mouth. Everyone loved their entree, the shared appetizers, and the assortment (all of them!) of deserts we ordered to share! The best meal of our visit to DC!
A lovely lunch with terrific food and service. All four of us left happy!
Excellent service. Tables a bit cramped. Food is solid but nothing special - feels a bit stale.
We had great service and the food was excellent! We will be back.
We were promptly seated in a quiet area, where we could talk. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. The fried calamari we’re delicious. I especially liked the house salad, which included kale, other greens, and tasty roasted grapes. The house- made fresh pasta was excellent— my spinach and ricotta ravioli with sage butter and my husband’s squid ink gemelli with sausage and tomato sauce. It was a great meal, but a bit pricy. Not sure if we will return.
We made an early reservation for three and were escorted the the last table in the back room of the restaurant but there were many tables free out front.
We were done before eight.
We choose the valentine's 4 coarse meal for $89 a piece and it was not good . For starters the bread that was brought out was not fresh and the main coarse flounder was very dry as if it was cook earlier in the day then reheated. It was me and my wife's 1st Valentine's day married and I felt cheated. It was late so we left before desert.
I Ricchi is our favorite high-end restaurant. Our only issue during our last meal was our waiter wasn’t the nicest guy. He tried to strong arm us into buying a $150 bottle of wine. I’m never a fan when waitstaff do so. Some say it’s good salesmanship, I find it obnoxious. Especially when the waiter cops an attitude when we don’t bite. But, it won’t stop us from going back.
I took my GF out for Valentines Day dinner. Neither one of us had ever been there before, so we weren’t sure what to expect. It was great food, great service. A bit pricey to be honest, so plan ahead. But well worth it for sure. Service was spot on, which for me is essential. Great time!
We went for Valentine’s Dinner, and ordered the $89 four-course Special menu. We waited one hour between the appetizer and second course, which arrived as we were informing the Maitre D’ of our decision to leave, as our evening had been ruined. They still had the audacity to charge us $35/ person, for the privilege of having an appetizer and glass of wine.
The food was amazing, truly amazing! We went on Valentines night so the customer service was a bit slow, but understandable. Looking forward to returning during a time that isn't quite as busy!
We dined at i Ricchi for Valentine's Day. But, it was a very busy night, quite noisy, and cold air blew through the restaurant area. As a result, most of the food was barely warm or looked like it had been sitting for awhile. I ordered from the Valentine's menu but the dishes themselves were just "okay." High notes? The breadbasket, with oil and vinegar, contained a wide variety of delicious choices. Lamb Chops were well prepared and delicious. As was dessert (Tiramisu.) Polenta with mushrooms appetizer? A bit plain with very little sauce. My husband ordered from the regular menu, but the pasta (pasta with sausage) was cold and simply uninspired. As was his mushroom / vegetable soup. We really appreciated our waiter's efforts to be attentive.Other staff were likewise friendly and helpful. The dining room was breathtaking, candle lit, and beautiful! Indeed, there's no doubt that this is a Washington DC gem of a restaurant. While i Ricchi fell short of expectations this time, we hope to return when it's not so crazy.
Really enjoyed Valentine Dinnw fixed price choices were all greatest
Loved the entire experience especially including being able to talk at a normal conversational volume. Food was delicious, service was friendly and times well, and warm ambiance all made our dinner just what we'd hoped it would be. Thank you.
First let me say this place should be treasured. The staff and cooks went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We were greeted at the door our coats were taken by the amazingly nice staff. The FOOD was amazing; the lobster risotto was so good I wanted to take the dish home with me! Great job, such a classy and lovely Valentines day dinner. I would highly recommend this place and I will be back- Maggie
