Had a table prepared outside as per my note on my booking. Nice food and good wine all you need is good company!
I have eaten many times at the Marylebone restaurant and have never been disappointed, but the service at the Canary Wharf branch was lacking on this occasion. We tried a couple of times to place a drinks order with no luck. There was a large table seated next to us and I feel the service we received suffered because all the staff were busy tending to this large party. I asked if my rare pork burger was supposed to cooked through and was told it was beef? The member of staff said he would double check with a colleague but never returned. When I managed to flag down another staff member she confirmed it was pork and slightly more pink than it should be. She apologised and kindly replaced the dish but by this time the damage was done. I will be back for the great food, but not the Canary Wharf branch.
Sadly the paella was a disappointment. You are required to order two shares. 32 pounds. So I thought this is going to be good! Sadly when they brought the seafood paella the taste was fishy and burnt. The flavor of the rice was bland and as I said almost burned flavor. We sent it back as it was not even edible and costly. We felt terrible as it was huge! I was hoping a place where they had a man who learned his home cooking from his mother would be better. Also after we sent back they did not come to our table for a very long time. They never refilled our water and we o my got a small amount to begin with. We had some other appeitizers that were good though. Asparagus toast was interesting. I’d avoid in the future. Paella is difficult to make but if that is your specialty change your recipe!!
Booked the table through portal site of Open space.
But, the space was sofa with small table.
It was business luncheon for us.
The place was very nice however the service was lacking in my opinion. Food was brought to the table before wine and my glass of water was not topped up regularly enough. Also a touch too expensive for a weekday dinner.
We waited for drinks, bread basket and then the butter.. everything had to be asked for.. after extensive waiting. Tapas took way too long to arrive then they forgot the remaining order after 3 tapas plates arrives for a table of 6. Food itself was not worth the wait.. bland!
Great selection of high quality and very tasty tapas. The lamb dishes are divine!
Excellent service; attentive, warm and welcoming (as befits the Spanish culture). Good food although we asked for Spanish omelette well done and it was still slightly runny. Toast with tomato particularly good. We also ordered Pulpo (very good) and Patatas bravas (good) and house wine very palatable.
Restaurant was very hot, made for an unpleasant experience. Shame the food wasn’t hot !
It took over an hour for our food to come for a business lunch. They promised it would be reflected in the bill, but it wasn't. Not great service but nice food and atmosphere
Excellent food. We went specifically for the Valencian paella. It was a great cooked and really tasty paella, but I was disappointed that no rabbit ( all chicken ) no green beans ( sugar snaps I think they were ) and no lima beans. But was really tasty with an excellent crusty caramelised base. Would go again.
Good service and food, however it's difficult for people that can't walk up stairs.
Iberica was amazing, we did learn that you don’t need to order so much food however we still pushed theough. The food was great the waitress’s were even better, everything I had asked for had been done amazingly and correctly. Me and my boyfriend would definitely be going back sooner than later.
Nice meal and good service although an eye on the tables would help as catching the eye of the waiting staff was slowish but it didn't affect the overall experience. Nice food, prompt delivery to the table.
Came for mine and my partners anniversary! We were greeted with a glass of cava and even wanted to buy a bottle as it tasted delish. Our waiter was enthusiastic, funny and polite, he made our experience even more special. The poached egg salad and twice cooked lamb was to die for, can’t wait to come back!!!
Decent tapas place but definitely City style given location, and definitely not for a quiet, quality time; more for a social, festive occasion. Food was as good, but again at City prices and value could be better.
Food was ok, service was appalling. We had to remind the waiter/waitress on several occasions to get us our water. We accidentally knocked our glass of wine which shattered on the table and floor, they wiped the table but not the floor. When we told them there were still pieces of glass on the wet floor, the waitress said, I’m new I’m really busy I can’t clean it right now!!! This is unacceptable - there were kids in the restaurant they could have ran over it, we ended up picking it up ourselves.
When I ask for the bill, what looked like the Manager she said, you have to ask that guy over there and pointed to our waiter, so we had to wait to get his attention!
We were constantly reminding them of our orders, no attentiveness - Service appalling!!!
Reliable high end tapas, attentive service, always lovely. A pleasure!
Food and service very good. Everything enjoyable across a varied selection of Tapas. Would highly recommend.
Amazing dinner, waitress was very nice, don’t know her name, she was from Colombia though...
Very expensive for not so good food. The patatas bravas was poor - not authentic at all. The Iberica ham - whilst very nice - was far too expensive. My lamb - again very nice - but the portion was ridiculous for the price I paid. Best part of the meal was the bottle of red wine.
A lo of money for not very much in terms of quantity - great flavours, just very poor value
Standards here have really slipped along with service and quality of desserts is poor!
The food was very good as it was on our last visit but the service was a little slow and careless - told us they had run out of something but then it still arrived, which was fine but no communication and a little slow.
However the paella was delicious.
Great food, excruciatingly slow service when busy
Tasty food! Very knowledgable staff that explain of the interesting info of different grade of jamon. The only down side was a bit rush on our meal with the limited time on our reserved seating.
I had to book an early table at 5:30 as that was all that was available. I was told firmly on arrival that we had to vacate the table at 7:00 which hardly have time for a relaxing dinner. We asked if the music could be turned down so that we didn’t have to shout to each other buy despite receiving several assurances that it would be, it wasn’t. We were asked to leave at 7:40 as we had overstayed our welcome although there were a lot of empty tables.
We have been to the Marylebone branch many times before for fantastic meals. Decided to give the Canary Wharf branch a go this evening. The food was as good as always, but the service was awful. Ignored for nearly half an hour after being shown to our table before we were even given the menu. Staff abrupt, unfriendly and uninterested. We weren’t an exception. We were one of three tables around us who asked to remove the service charge from the bill. Love the food. Will go back to the Marylebone branch, but will not be coming back here again.
Service was great and food was good too.
They didn't have the wine we wanted but the waitress recommended us a different wine and the alternative was lovely, it went well with our meal. A very pleasant evening made extra pleasant with great service.
Amazing food but terrible service which is very disappointing! Waitresses are clumsy and kept dropping glasses and plates on the floor.
Excellent lunch with a variety of mixed tapas dishes. This restaurant always delivers and the service is always good as well
first time at this branch of this favourite tapas bar of mine; usually go to Farringdon or Great Portland St.
Portions on the small side and wines quite expensive, but nevertheless it is enjoyable ambience if you're not too hungry!
The food was not very authentic and was pricey, but the service was nice
I was really let down by what is normally an enjoyable experience. The food was okay but some dishes came out cold.. I understand it was a busy night (valentines) but considering the price, that should have had an effect on quality. The bar /hosting staff downstairs were amazing and made us feel relaxed and welcome. Our waitress on our table, on the other hand, was an absolute nightmare. She was rude, demanding, sarcastic and failed to demonstrate the basic manorisms like greeting us and saying thank you. The only reason I didn't remove the service charge was because it wouldn't have been fair to the people that did work hard.
This was our second time here and we weren't disappointed. Service was excellent and so was the food. Chorizo lollipop or octopus is must!!
Table wasn’t available when we arrived and then we were put in a small table which is meant for 2 but there were 4 of us. Tapas were nice but paella was a wait if 1.5 hours and then was way too salty.
excellent service. fast speed even is full house. Sangrila is nice
The food was ok but the service wasn't the best unfortunately. Considering it was a Sunday afternoon and not busy at all I would have expected a better service.
Octopus that is usually amazing was tough. When telling the waitress, she just said that she would pass on the feedback. They were out of three wines from their menu, three dishes from their main tapas menu, two of the desert wines and two deserts. What type of restaurant is this?
This place used to be absolutely fabulous a few years ago, and it has dipped terribly. Worst part is, they did not seem to care at all!!
Shame! Cesar the Head Chef should look into this, but when I asked for him, they only shrugged and said that he doesn’t come that often anyways.
Did they make a gesture and remove at least the octopus from the bill? No they did not. They did nothing to rescue what ended up being a very disappointing experience. Food came, got dropped off at the till by a bus boy, and then stood there until the waitress came back from serving one too many tables and placed the food on our table. Three minutes that the food should not have been waiting there and getting cold. Portions as well used to be great, now the sizes are ridiculous. The croquettes that have always been their signature dish have more bechamel sauce than actual ham in them.
Quite terrible to be frank, not sure if these reviews get passed on to the restaurant, but I certainly hope they do and they take the feedback on board.
Good food, big and various menu, great value.
Friendly but very attentive service.
I will back for sure.
