Il Bacino is my favourite Italian Restaurant. The staff are as amazing as the food and the view is lovely.
The restaurant was in a quiet location but food was excellent.
We had asked to go to St Katherine’s dock but this restaurant is at Tobacco dock which is further away.
Having said this the staff were very pleasant and the food excellent.
The service was quick and the staff friendly. The food was tasty and the portions generous.
Excellent food. The portions were great and the service was first class
Varied menu with good sized portions. Good value, would definitely recommend.
Great food and great service in a relaxed environment.
Tasty food, large portions, nice restaurant interior. Would recommend.
I really like it here although I get the feeling that the staff do not get the service charge on the bill because they also ask you to either add or reject a tip when you pay by card. I advise you to ask for service charge to be removed and then add tip separately.
Excellent as always!
Nice food big portions lovely and quiet area, would go again
I had a lovely birthday dinner here. The waiter was very attentive and helpful with recommending dishes and wine. The food was lovely, decent sized portions full of flavour. I will definitely be coming back.
This was our second visit to Il Bacino, and our experience was even better than the first time. All of the staff are so friendly and they give it a really authentic, Italian feel. The food was absolutely fantastic and we were particularly impressed with the pasta. The limoncello shots at the end we're a lovely touch. We look forward to coming back to our new favourite restaurant soon!
We had to send back one of the mains, as it looked/smelled funny. Dish presentation was generally well below par.
The chocolate fondante was a glorified sponge cake with no melted chocolate inside.
Second time here, but not as good as the first. I think the staff had had an argument before we arrived because our waiter was pretty rude to us actually and the other staff seemed to be discreetly apologetic about him. Portions massive!
Was nice food waiters are a bit keen and seem to interrupt a little bit to much for my liking.... overall was a pleasant evening tho
Good food, friendly staff and very handy location. Can be noisy with the place full but this is usually later in the evening. Best Italian in the area and well worth s visit.
Waiters were very welcoming, the food was nice. I recommend this restaurant.
The first time was much better. Risotto was more like rice porridge, ravioli seemed like they were store bought as the edges were quite dry, but maybe not. Service? Well they brought courses at different time.
It was our first visit and we will be back. Delicious, authentic cuisine, great wine list and good cocktails. Excellent service too. Sizable portions, so go light on the starters!
A good friendly restaurant, with staff that want to please.
The waiter tried the hard sell which we found unattractive. It was not a relaxed ambiance and whilst the food was good enough was no more than ordinary.
My partner and I were very disapointed with the food quality here and the cost is far too mauch for over cooked fish. All our courses were disappointing and would highly recommend not going here unless the chef changes
Very good indeed. Service was amazing. Food was very good, though massive portions. And I mean massive. Fresh pasta was excellent. Pizzas are a whopping 15” but for me personally, had too much cheese and not enough of my chosen toppings. I will ask them to put less cheese on and more toppings on next time, as I am fairly certain it is the sort of place that would be happy to do that. They want you to be happy. My complementary limoncello even came served in a glass I’d admired earlier, as the waiter had overheard me as someone else’s drink was ferried past. My husband’s vegetarian pasta dish was awesome and our friend’s risotto was also utterly yummy. Pity we didn’t have room for dessert! It will be nice in the summer sitting out with a view of the water.
We went on New Year's Eve so it was noisy, but also busy and fun. The place was full. Service was friendly and good. Food was good with big portions!
NYE it was £40 per head and was worth it lovely food and drinks menu.
Hats party poppers and a good vibe for NYE.
Nice staff some appear a little bit miserable maybe as it was new yr 👍🏻
Enjoyed it lots before the fireworks at midnight
Went there for a family lunch and had a great time. Service is excellent and food was great. Will for sure return.
First time visit to Il Bacino, easy to get a reservation on a Wednesday night, barely anyone in there. Most of the food was very good. Had the pizza, really good for two, half went home with me. The caprese salad was good, however tomatoes are really not in season and they were a bit mealy, the rest of the plate was very good. Wine was great as well. Very attentive waiter, maybe a bit too attentive since there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. The special menu board came out and the waiter literally read it to us, which I guess would have been good if there were items that were not typically served. I would have liked to have been asked first. The thing that I did not like most was that we were served a bowl of Italian hot sauce. At 2 times during our meal, it was taken from us to give another table so they could use it. While sitting there it was taken to two separate tables. It was not a bottled item with a lid, it was opened topped.... I found it totally gross and could not use it as it was not just for our table. My friend then could not use it at her leisure, having to wait to use it when the bowl came back to us. I am very big on items that i eat to be safeguarded against germs. This alone may be a reason not to go back, how many other items are treated like this? . Not like Wapping has no other Italian restaurants. A little leary now. …..The best part of the evening.... the homemade tiramisu. I would get it to go, it was that that good! Overall the place was good... just a little issue that may make or break my return.
Having walked past this restaurant so many times, my wife and I finally decided to have dinner there. We should have gone sooner, the place is fantastic. The head waiter was charming, and sold me on two specials they had on the board. My wife and I both agreed it was the best restaurant we have been to in a long, long time. It's on the pricey side, but worth every penny. We'll be going there for our next special occasion!
Just back from a weekend in Florence and eating at Il Bacino made us feel like we were still in Italy. Welcoming staff couldn’t do enough for us. Food was authentic, delicious and plentiful. Superb bartender made the best martini we’ve ever had while we sat at the bar and watched the chef throw pizza dough in the air. This place is a real find, a hidden neighbourhood gem.
This is an amazing restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food was incredible. This restaurant is ideal for a meal after attending conferences at the Tobacco Docks facility.
Thanks to the restaurant for a lovely evening. We loved every bite of food. Delicious!
Quite disappointing meal last Saturday. Have been 3 times before and had some really lovely meals but it was not to be this time. Took my parents as a treat but don't know if the chef has changed but food no way near as tasty. Felt like everything was lacking some love. Service was also pretty sketchy. Had to ask for things twice and time for main meal was way to long. Hopefully just a one off/an off night.
We weren't shown the specials menu unfortunately which we later realised had things on it we would want. Quite expensive for what it was.
Great service, delicious food and professional recommendation about menu.
It was my partner’s birthday, we were celebrating with our friends and their 9 year old son. Food and service was fab and they went out of their way to help us celebrate and enjoy our late lunch.
We have eaten at the restaurant a few times, and the food has always been good. On this occasion it was excellent. Good burrata to start with, and then a pizza and carbonara to share. Everything was perfect, and the service was also top notch. Well done!!
Great service, good coffee and convenient setting in an area near Tobacco Dock without much choice for business lunch, with view of the city skyline
Unfortunately the service received was inattentive and somewhat unfriendly and the starter (which was only a simple garlic bread was burnt, dry and tasteless).
Whilst the main was tasty on balance I would not return.
Food was lovely, very fresh and well prepared, very enjoyable.
This restaurant could be so good, but this is the third time we’ve been, and it’s the third time we’ve been disappointed.
Perhaps their pasta and pizzas are better than their other dishes...
It’s just a poor imitation of other local established Italian restaurants, but not cheaper.
There really is a reason why we could get a table on a Friday night at the drop of a hat.
I think they need to realise, Wapping is a community, and if you continue to disappoint, you’ll soon be empty every night.
Not one I’d recommend.
Had a lovely afternoon. The only downside was we were the only table for lunch. Staff were excellent did not over crowd us. Would recommend .
