True Italian spirit in this local restaurant with very helpful staff.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS. Food amazing, staff amazing, atmosphere amazing I love it
Very tasty food. Went here to celebrate a work promotion with my girlfriend. Waiting staff were lovely and friendly. They provided lots of guidance on the food and service was fast but not imposing. Large portions too!
We went on Valentine’s Day which obviously was busy. The food was very tasty - especially the caponata. I’m italian and I would absolutely recommend it.
The staff is really nice and polite.
The only negative point is that we had to wait about 45 minutes between the starters and the main course (and as it was a set menu I would expect it to take way less) - but then again, Valentine’s was a busy day.
Will definitely go back again.
A pleasant dining experience. It made Valentine’s Day special. Attentive staff and good food.
Waited over an hour for our main and when cane was not nice at all
Good friendly restaurant. Will also let you take time to eat and not rush you.
Been here a few times now never disapointed. Will certainly be going again.
We went at noon the day after boxing day so the restaurant was literally empty apart from us. It is hard to comment on ambiance and service, although obviously we were served quickly and efficiently.
The food quality was really good. We had a selection of starters and the spicy chicken penne. It tasted really good, and authentic too. I guess the location is a bit out of the way but I'd recommend visiting the restaurant if you're able to get there.
Very attentive, good food and drink
Pretender to the throne.
We are regulars at Il Bordello and had read a few positive reviews on Il bacino, Wapping Lane. Some had even compared it to the established Italian trattoria less than 500m away but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
An ominous sign was entering a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon at 13.30 to find it completely empty?
The atmosphere was sterile except for the festive soundtrack in the background but even that couldn’t make up for the dour personality of the only waiter in attendance. His attitude was just plain negative bordering on miserable.
The food was no better, scallops overcooked in their shells with a herb crust like sand. Grilled prawns overdone and chewy and minestrone that lacked any depth of flavour.
My main was monkfish dressed with mussels and a shellfish sauce. It looked great but was ice cold. It was sent back but specifically requested a fresh dish not a re-heat. It arrived and yet again it was stone cold. At this point I told the waiter to forget it. 19 minutes later it was served again but sent back.
A pasta dish that was void of any season for flavour and a veal dish much the same.
Overall 5 of us ate very little yet the bill still came to almost £200 which was a complete rip-off so we won’t be going back. Long live Il Bordello
Food was amazing and the service was very attentive. Great value for money and delicious food
Great restaurant only booked it late, the pizzas are large with plenty of filling
Fantastic service, very friendly and accommodating. Specials did make a difference, they were very tasty and good value. Great location for access to Tobacco dock.
I love this place. It reminds me, in all the best ways, of the Italian neighborhood restaurants of the 80's and 90's. With better food. Portions are huge. Welcoming and just lovely
Portions were absolutely huge! one bowl of pasta is enough for two and we ordered a pizza to share too!
Fantastic - contender for the best italian in wapping
Friendly professional service, great menu and atmosphere
I was sick after eating the prawn pasta dish - must have been a bad batch of prawn?
My partner’s crab ravioli was fine though and the garlic bread and olives were nice.
Very relaxed, had our table all night, good food
The restaurant is located near the Dock which give it nice views if you are seated outside in lovely weather. The food was nice too and it had great ambience.
Great local Italian spot. Large portions and easy dining experience
The food was great. House wine is drinkable but not anything I’d specifically recommend.
The pizza / pasta dishes may seem a bit pricey but the pizzas are 15 inches and the pasta dishes are huge. My girlfriend and I shared 1 pizza and 1 seafood pasta dish and it was more than enough, maybe too much. Would recommend all around, good quality seafood and great pizza with a genuine Italian family feel. Very quiet location too
Nice restaurant. Pity about the noise levels which were VERY high.
Good food great venue fantastic prices brilliant staff would recommend this restaurant good.
despite the restaurant had very few guests the noise level was high unfortunately due to a couple of waiters constantly arguing against each other...not really a pleasent view...
I ate here twice last year and both times it was very enjoyable.
This was a meal for my 60th birthday with 8 friends and all thought the food excellent and portions generous. My grilled octopus starter found easily have been a main course. The view, decor and location all added to the experience.
Il Bacino is my favourite Italian Restaurant. The staff are as amazing as the food and the view is lovely.
The restaurant was in a quiet location but food was excellent.
We had asked to go to St Katherine’s dock but this restaurant is at Tobacco dock which is further away.
Having said this the staff were very pleasant and the food excellent.
The service was quick and the staff friendly. The food was tasty and the portions generous.
Excellent food. The portions were great and the service was first class
Varied menu with good sized portions. Good value, would definitely recommend.
Great food and great service in a relaxed environment.
Tasty food, large portions, nice restaurant interior. Would recommend.
I really like it here although I get the feeling that the staff do not get the service charge on the bill because they also ask you to either add or reject a tip when you pay by card. I advise you to ask for service charge to be removed and then add tip separately.
Excellent as always!
Nice food big portions lovely and quiet area, would go again
I had a lovely birthday dinner here. The waiter was very attentive and helpful with recommending dishes and wine. The food was lovely, decent sized portions full of flavour. I will definitely be coming back.
This was our second visit to Il Bacino, and our experience was even better than the first time. All of the staff are so friendly and they give it a really authentic, Italian feel. The food was absolutely fantastic and we were particularly impressed with the pasta. The limoncello shots at the end we're a lovely touch. We look forward to coming back to our new favourite restaurant soon!
We had to send back one of the mains, as it looked/smelled funny. Dish presentation was generally well below par.
The chocolate fondante was a glorified sponge cake with no melted chocolate inside.
Second time here, but not as good as the first. I think the staff had had an argument before we arrived because our waiter was pretty rude to us actually and the other staff seemed to be discreetly apologetic about him. Portions massive!
