Take home, due to the situation, food was excellent missed the service from the staff when dinning in.
Il Cappriccio is one of the best restaurants in greater Boston: it continues to serve its guests in wonderful style, and its food has been fabulous for many years, and continues to renew itself and excel-
The wine selection is extensive and reasonable in price, and the ambience belies its location.
I urge everyone to go out and support this restaurant as soon as circumstances permit!!!!
We took a colleague who is leaving our organization to Il Capricio for dinner to thank her for her service and wish her well. It was a perfect place for the dinner: we were seated in a quiet alcove that was quiet and allowed us a nice space to enjoy our evening. The food, as always, was delicious--varied foods (duck, swordfish, pastas) were all terrific as were the incredible desserts. Service was excellent---informative, attentive and friendly. Il Capricio has a high end vibe but not snooty. Wonderful and memorable evening.
Amazing food - love that you can order smaller portions. I had the Carbonara and it was the perfect balance of creamy and savory. Each person in our party had a different meal and each one was excellent.
Very good as usual. Was a little disappointed that the salmon appetizer did not have the anchovies that have been included in previous versions.
Great dining experience and excellent food. We'll be back.
Fabulous food, great service, serious wine list, good value -- gets better and better over its 35 year history.
Never fails to deliver...an lovely place, with ambience that lends itself to an adult night out.
Exceptional service from Henrick
Will definitely return
this time, been there many times, tried a pasta dish for my appetizer. Can't match the pasta anywhere in Boston, made fresh. Swordfish, and the Lemon Mousse dessert!
What can I say, on of the best restaurants in the Boston area!
Few restaurants are worthy of a full-on five star rating. Il Capriccio has reliably been delivering top quality food with an attentive staff for many years. The number of regulars (including myself) that keep coming back is a testament to how Ritchie and team keep to very high standards.
We have loved everything about Il Capriccio for years.
The food and service are wonderful. We always have a good dining experience here.
It was really nice and the food was amazing.
As usual the best restaurant in the greater Boston area
Il Capriccio has been a go to special occasion, great meal/experience occasion for many years. Richie, Jan, Nahatai and the whole crew bring wonderful creative Italian food in a great atmosphere to any occasion. The wine list is off the charts with many reasonable bottles for $100 and under. Menu classics never go out of fashion including one of the best bolognese's in all of Boston, a mushroom souffle to die for and wonderful and creative menu items in all categories.....I had my first date cake for dessert, and it was wonderful....way to go Vinny..... HR
Lovely meal to celebrate a special occasion - dinner was delicious and the server was quite informative and professional.
ll Capriccio creates a cozy atmosphere with glass and wood paneled walls dividing the dining area into several smaller rooms. The staff is warm and welcoming and the service is excellent. Everything was delicious! The Gnocchi with mushrooms was especially tasty. I enjoyed it with the Arugula and Radichio salad. The Ginger lime Creme Brûlée with berries and sorbet was delightful to look at and I savored every bite. My husband liked his Pasta Bolonaise and we both liked the option of ordering half sized portions which were just the right size! We will definitely return!
Our standard for birthday and anniversary celebrations, never disappoints. Divided into a number of small rooms, it's very quiet and intimate.
lovely dining experience! Great for a special occasion.
Authentic and creative dishes. 2nd time there. Will go back again, for sure.
The menu, while not large, was nicely varied with many excellent-looking dishes. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We had the mussels (appetizer), salmon and veal - all were delicious.
My only complaint was the noise level in the room we were in. I understand that this is a function of the people in the room (one loud guest starts an "avalanche") but the room doesn't seem to be designed to muffle the sound.
The staff was amazing! The food was very good. Wish they would update the space a bit though.
We love it there. Thank you!!
A wonderful restaurant for any occasion. The food is scrumptious and the service is outstanding without being fussy or omnipresent. The various seating areas make conversation 100% possible, which feels like a rarity, and everything is done in an unhurried and comfortable way. Our server was particularly skilled at recommending wine, which should come as no surprise since she had been with the restaurant for 25 years!
We enjoyed our cocktails, appetizers, and entrees- all were well prepared and presented. The service was timely, friendly, and professional. The ambience was warm and inviting, great for the cold and rainy day we were there. We also think the menu is extensive and interesting, with very reasonable prices.
great service, great food - make sure to put your order in early as the good stuff goes fast (they only order enough for the anticipated demand of the day - which is good for freshness :) )
The food was phenomenal. The service is very good. It would have made our visit a lot more enjoyable if the tables weren’t crammed into each other. It almost felt like we were not alone on our table.
Had a wonderful time. Meal was excellent. Service was wonderful. Only problem was that we waited 1/2 hour for our table even with a reservation. The restaurant offered us all a glass of Prosecco and when we were seated we were served an appetizer (tuna tartare) as a thank you for our patience. Very classy.
I would definitely recommend Il Capriccio. The overall experience was excellent as always, equal to almost any restaurants in Boston or elsewhere. My only suggestion, and it doesn't really diminish the experience, would be to leave a bit more space between tables.
Everything perfect except the bread was cold and crust very hard and thick. Hard to eat.
Still the best. Great food. Great space. Great waitstaff. Perfect.
Seated by window. VERY cold due to drafts.
Food was fantastic as always. Waiter was inattentive and uninformative.
The steak (a special of the night) was hands down the best steak I have enjoyed in my life. It came with a sweet potato lasagna that was a new dish for me. Thank you and kudos to the chef! Hats off to the bartender as well because I loved the rum, pineapple, fernat branca cocktail. My husband’s PEI mussel appetizer had a delicious broth and he was surprised how many mussels were in the bowl. His lobster and scallop cannelloni was delicious. We had eaten here on New Year’s Eve and our dinner was delicious then as well.
Everything was wonderful
Love the food and service here!
Very nice experience. The food is always elegant and delicious. The decor is a little bland and everyone sits quite close together.
Wonderful dinner for an early Valentine’s Celebration. We both had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection at medium rare as requested. Tuna tartare appetizer was delicious. For dessert we had the date cake - wonderful.
Outstanding food and service. We have dietary restrictions and their menu is somewhat small, but we had plenty to eat. everything was perfect. Dessert was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We had a wonderful time , from the greeting to the food to the extensive and excellent wine list...thank you
