It was an awfully wet night and our table was just inside the door. There was a constant stream of people coming into the restauarnt , it was cold and draughty and why the owners did not put a notice up to say fully booked and not cause disturbance to people eating is beyond me. The restaurant was busy, but service was very slow and waiter not very attentive. The food portions were rather mean and overall the meal was avearge and pricey for what we had. although the food that we had was nicely cooked.
Been once before and it was much better on first vist.
Not a good start. Reserved a table for 3. Found ourselves in the corner at the back corner of the restaurant. Seemed to be filling up tables on first come, first served, basis. Aperitif.. for 3...G&T.. tonic was flat and already poured.. no slim-line available.. sent back.. reaction was"Look sir.. you should have told us before if you didn't want the tonic poured in first. Now I'm going to have to pour them away ! Food was good.. but honestly, I've been in more "authentic" Italian restaurants, especially in Soho.
A good if not outstandingly special Italian restaurant in a great central Soho location.
We enjoyed a delicious meal in-between the two halves of the Harry Potter play - we chose from the set menu - the food was freshly cooked, served quickly and delicious.
The restaurant was busy, full of chatter and laughter, The staff were friendly and cheerful and everyone enjoyed themselves
Really enjoyed the food, nice find and will definitely go back and recommend to friends. Lovely to find an authentic restauarnt not part of chain
Lovely resturant. Small and away from the bustle! Quick service between play.
Excellent evening nothing you can say bad about it. Friendly family atmosphere great food and value for money. I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent food and family-run business make this special little Italian restaurant worthy of a visit, if not many. Extremely accommodating to off-the-menu requests and the place gets packed. Every table was taken, which speaks volumes for a restaurant without a website.
Lovely and friendly atmosphere. Food served quickly and very reasonable price! Second time there for me and I will definitely be going back again soon!!
Pre-booked for in between a two part show, early evening. We ordered a half bottle of Valpollicella Classico Superiore, we received a classico, with no explanation and got charged the same for it.
I ordered a Margaritta Pizza, this was served with no basil, just dried oregano so was very disappointed. The dough was thick and chewy but overall tasted ok as it had a little crunch on the base and the sauce and mozarella were nice. My wife ordered the steak rossini, medium rare - it came blue. I had to get up and ask for my wife's steak to be recooked, she did not want to complain as she is to polite so ate the crouton and some of the veg (she has eaten a little of the steak but not much). We waited 10 minutes for it to be recooked, so I waited as best I could, what was left of my pizza was pretty cold at this point.
At no point during the meal were we approached and asked if everything was ok, or if we wanted any other drinks. At no point in the evening did we see any other table get asked if the food was ok or if they wanted any water or another drink.
We left and again received no thanks or comments. We would never go back, the whole service experience was absolutely awful.
Avoid if you can... for a small family run business we would have expected far more and this was totally awful.
Amazing food and a great venue! Went between shows at the theatre and it was amazing! Def worth the money :)
Great atmosphere and excellent service and food.Decent wine list and good selection of beer
We had a fantastic meal between shows, service was excellent and the food was amazing. We will definitely return on our next visit to the theater.
Booked for dinner prior to going to the theatre. Authentic Italian restaurant with an excellent, extensive , well priced menu. Service was attentive without being pushy, all in all I would highly recommend.
A delightful small family neighborhood Italian restaurant
We picked this one because of its proximity to the Palace Theatre and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! It ain’t fancy but it’s definitely good. Everyone who works there speaks Italian. Yay chicken crema.
Extremely average, bland overcooked food, premium prices and very poor, slow service
Great location for before or between theatre. Food very good and great service
This was a great find for us. Family run restaurant. Delicious food. Best Bruschetta I have ever had. Main course of Filetto Rossini tasted superb. My husband had the veal which was also very tasty. Highly recommended.
The food was perfect and it was a great anniversary meal there was no rush for us to finish our meal which I love, will definitely be back
Visited this lovely restaurant before going to the theatre
Staff were polite, very attentive and efficient.
Food was of highest quality and served hot as it should be.
Nothing was too much trouble
Very good value for money in our opinion.
Will be going back for sure.
Delightful and fun small Italian that represents good value for money.
A pleasant restaurant, convenient for the theatres in Charing Cross Road particularly. The food was very good, delicious tiramisu! My only complaint would be that the tables for two are too close together ..almost forcing you to converse with those nearby and making private conversation impossible!
Unfortunately I was very ill the weekend we were in London so this review is based solely on my daughter. She had a margarita pizza which she said was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Ideal theatre location.
Fantastic meal - family of four all enjoyed immensley
good quality food with friendly service. Great central location so would happily go again.
We had eaten here before and enjoyed it. I booked for our wedding anniversary as we thought it would be as nice as last time. We were wrong. The starters were ok, I had sardines my wife had bruschetta. The mains, particularly mine, were almost inedible. The pasta was dry and rubbery, it tasted like it had been sitting around all day. It was also really salty. I left a large part of it. My wife’s mushroom pasta was a huge portion, again the pasta was dried out and the mushrooms very greasy. Really disappointed and we will not go back.
Meat was very hard and pasta was salty.
Great location close to theatre. Got us fed and out in less than one hour In time for theatre.
Somehow the restaurant didn't have our reservation on their handwritten list, but fortunately there was a treble available and I was able to produce the confirmation email.
My sister and I had 2 courses each off the main menu and both found our meal delicious. I would have liked a 3rd course and was rather surprised when presented with the bill as opposed the dessert menu, particularly as the table next to us had been given the menu a short while before. The prices were reasonable and the location perfect for our between plays meal. Despite the minor issues mentioned, I would certainly recommend the restaurant and go back there.
Booked this restaurant for our meal whilst attending Harry Potter play at nearby theatre. Absolutely delighted with it. Lovely white linen on all the tables, large range of options on the menu and a 3 course set meal for £15.99 ( 2 courses for £12.99) if that's your preference. We chose the a la Carte but still really great value for money. The Restaurant is family owned and run and this is reflected bin the service which was first class. Can't recommend this highly enough. Ignore the mass produced, ovepriced chains, go for this and you'll get excellent food at a better price.
We had a lovely Pre-theatre lunch here. The staff were accommodating as we were late due to train delays. The staff were friendly and the food was great! Many thanks!
We came from California to see a play. Il Cucciolo was centrally located. They pour a generous glass of wine and the food was nicely done. We had Chicken with pesto ( chicken was a bit dry) the homemade ravioli - wonderful and the seafood linguini - nice flavor. They were kind, quick with service. Very enjoyable
Very friendly staff, made you feel welcome, we arrived early but we were able to sit down as we were there for a pre-dinner theatre meal.
I am usually dubious about restaurants in hip areas but this one was straightforward good food and service with no nonsense. Decent house wine at a reasonable price and a comprehensive menu. No problem.
Great service. Perfect for our between shows meal. Accommodated our early arrival.
We booked as a family meal between Harry Potter and The Cursed Child performances. The menu is great and we ordered sea bass, pasta and steak. All were excellent as were the starters. Decent wine and quick, friendly efficient service. It was very busy but couldn’t fault the restaurant.
Friendly welcoming Italian family restaurant with very good food and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Came here before walking to theatre. My wife and I both had different veal dishes. Both of us felt our meals were good, but nothing special. Service was boring.
We dined at Il Cucciolo between parts 1 and 2 of Harry Potter at The Palace theatre. Delicious food and friendly staff :-)
