Delicious food served by friendly and efficient staff. Excellent wine also. If you're looking for a traditional trattoria/pizzeria type of experience this is not for you - these are Lombardian specialists and the menu reflects that. The place also does deli counter service and deeply regret not taking home some of their exemplary charcuterie.

Very good classic Italian cooking, very hard to find a fault with it.

Terrible! It's lit like a super market. The menu is miniscule. The staff all wish they were somewhere else.

Fine and very well cocked food, characteristic from the North of Italy, which makes it particularly interesting. Great wine list, deli products and nice staff as well. Portions are small though, and unfortunately I found it a bit overpriced. Would go back there if it was 10-15% less expensive (or maybe just get rid of the 12.5% service charge and you'll be just fine).

Best italian recipes, lovely execution, special wines ... best value for a simple but also extra-ordinary evening.

Started the meal with the goat's cheese board and charcuterie - both of which were so good we bought more to take home; then had starters (wish I didn't have to share my risotto which was even better than risottos I've eaten in Italy) and mains. My guinea fowl was perfectly done, can't fault it.

The wine we wanted wasn't available and got recommended an alternative (which was £8 more a bottle) Total bill was £142 per couple (not including the takeout food), so not a budget experience, but for the quality of the food definitely worth a visit. Would probably just eat two plates of risotto next time, it's that good...

True North Italy food. Amazing wine and a very nuce place. Very quiet atmosphere, ideal for couples. Menu does not have much variety though.

Fantastic ingredients, beautifully prepared. Quirky ambience under the arches. Half airplane hangar/half deli.

Great wine and an amazing meat platter. A little bit on the pricey side but great as a treat. Service is excellent

This is one of my favourite places for some good italian food. Everytime I eat here, the pasta has always been great and I recently tried the guinea fowl secondi and it was so good. If you want a nice meal that reminds you of being in Italy this is the place. It is a nice little spot in the neighbourhood.

Il Cudega is a simple, pared back restaurant in a railway arch. Furnishings are modern and quite austere but the effect is softened by beautiful mouth blown glass pendant lights which float like bubbles. The kitchen is open making for good theatre and there is a big glass fronted counter where ham, salami and cheeses are kept.
The menu is short but inviting. Antpasti are mixed platters of cheese or charcuterie. There are saveral pasta and main dishes followed by a couple of pudding options.
We ate impeccable charcuterie - although the bread offering was poor and we had to ask for olive oil. This was delicious when it arrived.
I had an excellent version of Vitello Tonnato. This is a favourite which I eat at every opportunity. The veal was pink and tender and the sauce well balanced. The rather ordinary lettuce garnish was a bit of a letdown. My husband had saffron risotto with Italian sausage which he ate very slowly as he was enjoying it so much he didn't want it to finish.
For desert we had strawberries with Marscapone cream and a pannacotta - both delicious. With a Campari spritz and a bottle of house red the billincluding service was £90. Not cheap but the quality of the food was great and the service charming throughout.

In a restaurant world that tries too hard to impress and often fails , the food here is authentic and delicious . The silky pasta with truffles , made that day with the Organic Italian eggs that are so startlingly yellow in Italy were sublime . Every mouthful a bit of heaven . The creamy , perfectly cooked risotto took longer to cook - always a good sign . The antipasto and cheeses showcased their high quality deli products . The cod and veal and desserts superb .
I love desserts but the house wine was so good I had to have cheese . We bought some for home last time
This is an unpretentious restaurant that is confident of its food, wine and service . Restaurants in this area come and go , I hope this one stays . We're coming again this week - the pasta beckons!

To say this is the best local, seasonal, regional Italian restaurant I've been to in England would be an understatement.

The care over the produce, the knowledge poured into each glass of wine, the friendliness of the staff and the coffee will keep me coming back again and again.

100/10

I had a great diner at Il Cudega! The food was good and well cooked: I had first a delicious selection of cheese and meet (special mention for the truffle ham and the tallegio) and and a pasta dish that remind me my last hollidays in Italy. The service was also great!
I'll recommend it to anyone (except maybe to my Vegan & Coeliac friend) and will definitely go there again, soon.

Had a lovely dinner for 2 at Il Cudega. The quality of food was amazing, I have eaten at Il Cudega a few times before and cannot fault the food at all. The best Italian food I've eaten around the area and of East London. Very authentic and fresh ingredients, must try the charcuterie and cheese board! The waitress was helpful and attentive. Absolutely love coming here for lunch or dinner! Will be coming back for more.
