IL FARO restaurant & bar

This was our first time out in over a year because of Covid. What a perfect experience! Food, drinks and service were great.

Great food and service! A gem of a place!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Albany for so many reasons. The food is always good, cocktails are interesting, and the people are the greatest. So welcoming and it feels like eating a cozy but elevated meal with your family. Such a hidden gem in Albany

This restaurant is always terrific. I have never been there when it’s not. The owner is wonderful and the wait staff is friendly and attentive. So good!

All the mixers that go into the cocktails are home made and fresh, very refreshing. The best home made mozzerella sticks any where. All the food is wonderful.

The best even during these difficult times!

This was the first time I tried the pizza and I was not disappointed. The broccoli and white pizza is delicious with a wonderful crust.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant...the service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience and the food is absolutely amazing!!

My husband and I are long time fans of Il Faro. Jess and Chris do an amazing job of making each and every patron feel special. And the food, just wonderful.

Despite no St. Patrick events happening in Albany on Saturday 3/14, we were determined to go out and celebrate. Olivia was our charming server this evening. She was attentive and efficient. We were disappointed to find that the Shepherd's Pie had been scratched from the menu, but the Rueben Poutine appetizer was a tolerable substitute. We opted
entrées of Spring Fresh Fettuccini (aptly named) and Sole (the daily fin, which was lightly breaded, tender, and perfectly seasoned). Tiramisu rounded out our grand meal. Nothing fancy but genuinely friendly, Il Faro features a lively bar, a fine kitchen, and cheerful service staff. They also offer convenient lot or nearby on-street parking. Recommended!

Our third time there, enjoyed being seated deeper into the dining room, was chilly by the window last time, our server was great, nice sense of humor. We like that the menu changes often, poutine and arrancini a very nice start. Only minor complaint is stemless wine glasses, I have small hands and sometimes feel like I do not have a good grip and need to use both hands.

Food and staff were great. Especially liked the Risotto Balls appetizer. The flourless chocolate 'cake' for dessert was insane!

Some of the best service anywhere

We chose IL FARO from Open Table and they had a reservation available at the time we like. The staff was super friendly, very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We will definitely return to try other dishes.

we were there for Valentines night dinner. they had a live piano player that we could have done without but, the food and service both made up for the poor choice of accompaniment. we did not have to order off of the special menu and had plenty of different options to choose from. I would definitely and recommend Il Faro to my friends.

Enjoyed Restaurant Week, on a Friday evening. After our appetizers we all decided that we would be going to IL Faro! Loved it.

Very good food, a little slow but it was busy, very nice local restaurant. Worth every penny.

Always good food and service. This was taco Tuesday very tasty like this concept in the summer they hadhamburg Tuesday that was excellent. Was also there Saturday fabulous lamb chops and Brussel sprouts!

We were a party of 7 celebrating our brother’s birthday. The table was ready for us when we arrived. Our server was on top of getting us drinks when we arrived. She was friendly and very efficient! We liked that the owner came to say hi to my brother and his wife. And that she demanded her husband put deep fried cookie dough on the dessert menu. The only downside was the noise level. My husband has trouble hearing and the noise seemed to bounce off the walls making it difficult for him. Other than that we had a great evening.

This truly is a neighborhood gem . The owner’s are always on the property. They care for each customer as if they are a friend. If you have not tried this restaurant what the heck you’re waiting for. Try it I know you’ll like it I love it there continued success to the restaurant

We enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the menu. Front end and service are always a positive experience. The menu is priced right and the servings are not stingy. The bar service is also outstanding. Il Faro is an excellent neighborhood restaurant and also worth a trip out of your way to enjoy a great meal. Excellent value.
