I am a huge fan of Inamo Soho and have been there many times over the years. They were unable to take a booking last night so I went to the Covent Garden branch instead. Sadly, I was disappointed.

Is Inamo a victim of its own success? I don’t know. But the £15 “raspberry mojito” was a glass of warm vodka with some red bits floating in it. We sent it back and replaced with a bottle of Prosecco which arrived without glasses. Five or ten minutes later we managed to flag down a staff member to bring some.

This branch doesn't have digital ordering on the tables, and the tablet that is been placed on tables instead is barely operational and a source of great frustration. The tables themselves do have a little bit of digital interactivity left, but it works very poorly, and the games aren’t very responsive.

The food was fine, if not stellar; perhaps we were there on a very busy night and the team were just a bit overwhelmed. And admittedly it's a long time since I've been out in London, but £300 for dinner for four feels like a heck of a lot for such a mediocre experience.

I loved the Soho branch for the great food, the quirky idea, its great service, and the fact that even when it was crowded you felt you had some privacy at the tables. And they had good cocktails! Is the Covent Garden experience just the result of a really tough 18 months for hospitality? Or has the chain over-expanded and gone downhill? Either way, let's hope they get back on their feet.

Oh, lastly, a comment on table layout. In current Covid times, you don’t expect to be put on a shared table without forward notice. We asked to be moved and we were, but it was an unpleasant surprise. And, sadly, a sign of things to come.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years! I was completely thrown off by the reviews, and decided to give this a shot. Here are the highlights of my time at Inamo:
1. Made to wait for 15mins despite having a reservation

2. Tables are shared, despite us being in a pandemic!

3. Ordering system (a tablet) is the worst user experience I've ever had!

4. Service will bring you to tears! Ordered 2 drinks together, only 1 arrived. Waited another 20mins for the other one! To call the waiting staff, you need to press a button on the tablet. Only no one cares about it, so no starff arrives. You have to almost tackle one running around the restaurant to get their attention. Food is inedible! Sushi was tasteless. No soy sauce with it..had to again flag down a waiting staff to request it. Edamame were dripping with oil. Udon noodles were so salty, I had to down 2 ltrs of water after it.

5. Finally, the bill was shoved into us when we were stil eating our food, and never actually asked for the bill.

Only positive was that the staff (when you actually got hold of them) were very polite and helpful.

Safe to say that I will NEVER be dining here again!

Inamo is a tucked away down a side street off of Hanover Square, we went as a pre-theatre bottomless lunch. It is lovely inside, quite dark but I presume this is for the interactive tables. Our Interactive table was not very responsive and we had an ipad to order our food. On booking Inamo, the menu looked extensive, however the choice when you arrive is only of a few dishes which was a bit of a shame. We had a choice of 4 different drinks with our meal, we chose white wine but had to buy the soda separately. You have to order 6 dishes at a time and have an hour and a half for your session. The service was extremely quick for the food and extremely slow for the drinks so you felt a bit rushed and felt you had to continually bug the waiters and waitresses for a top up! We only had a few glasses of which the glass size is also tiny! I can't fault the food, it was delicious. The waitresses were lovely, however one waiter was obviously having a bad day and had no customer service skills, just plonked the food down and walked off so that was a bit off putting!
All in all it was nice, not mind blowing and I don't think I would return for the experience only for the food. It did feel like the other lunch guests that were obviously not on a bottomless lunch received a more attentive experience at a slower pace. We also booked for the quirky interactive tables... which were a little bit disappointing and non-responsive.... our interactive table had to keep being reset as it kept blipping and we didn't really have time to explore more into it as the fast food service interrupted it!

We did the all you can eat, very limited on drinks, food options were not good quality (a few things unavailable), the pork belly was the only redeeming feature with the food. I think this place runs off the gimmick of the table projected games (which could be updated as very difficult to see/read anything on them) and nothing else. Most of the staff acted like they did not want to be there, were quite rude and stood and chatted to each other and ignored other things needed sorting however, there was one person (blonde shoulder length hair and lots of hooped earrings) who was lovely, polite and made an effort to attend to our table.
I think the idea and concept of the asian tapas with the fun projector is such a wonderful evening idea but unfortunately has not performed to standards as expected, especially for the cost.

Terrible - AVOID! Awful food, service and ambience. iPads didn't work half the time, you could never get the waiters attention, when you did they were pretty useless. VERY expensive for what it is. With so many fantastic restaurants in London I'm surprised this one has survived.

Quite stressful navigating I pad menu which crashed so had to reorder plus trying to read list of allergens from a sheet of paper in the semi darkness. Table was for 90 minutes which given it took along time to get ordering system to work meant it all felt a bit rushed. Bill brought at 75 minutes without requesting it and pressure to leave the table even though restaurant not full and we would have happily had deserts and more drinks. Would not return, it was an experience but over priced and too stressful for a treat

Don’t waste your money!
The place is not like the photos on the website. Only the table are illuminated, not the walls.
The place is very noisy. You cannot have a conversation with other guests at the table.
The bottomless menu is very restrictive- you only get very few items and there is no dessert option. The restrictions were not advertised when i booked.
The quality of the food is very low for a Japanese restaurant. These are not sushis - the rice is overcooked and the taste is tasteless.
The dishes that were delivered to our table do not ressemble the pictures on the menu. The dishes are not well presented.
Overall the price at £42 pp is not worth it. You dont get value for money at all and the quality of the food is very disappointing.
I would not recommend this restaurant to others.
