Favorite SF place and neighborhood. Food fantastic
Great food. Beautiful presentation. Variety of choices made dining fun and adventuresome. Quality and freshness was a big plus!
Intimate setting, good food, staff are friendly
Isa is perhaps our favorite restaurant in the Marina District. The food and service are both outstanding. The outdoor dining is nicely arranged and comfortable.
I love the food here and the staff are always so welcoming. Will be back for sure.
Service was great and food was delicious. Very glad we made reservations so we could be seated in the warmer back patio dining area, because it seemed pretty cold in the front dining section.
Awesome place the food was great and so was the service
Now we know!!
Decent, tasty food with slightly inattentive service, at SF prices
The food here is outstanding! We tried the lamb (most amazing thing I’ve had in awhile), calamari, crab salad (lots of fresh crab, they don’t skimp), duck, goat cheese and butter lettuce salad. Everything tasted so fresh and perfectly seasoned. The host was really helpful and held a table for some unexpected friends that wanted to join us. At the end of the night, we met the owner who told us the chef has been there 20 years. So happy to have discovered this spot.
Attentive staff, heavenly food, great outdoor/patio dining pre-, during and I’m pretty sure post covid as well.
Always a pleasure!
Excellent experience. Food was incredible.
Great food, kind and helpful service. Very reasonable portions and price!
Been to ISA twice during pandemic and both times are among our best outings all year long. thank you Isa !
Restaurant has been a mainstay for years.(?18-20?) Over time food declined BUT now truly back in the groove. Great options, great tastes and fair pricing. Good wine. So thankful that there are restaurants that survive for our return to normalcy! thankful
Truly outstanding cuisine on vibrant Steiner Street. The sea bass baked in a potato skin with capers and spices was so delicate, so moist, so flavorful. Surround that with sautéed mussels, hangar steak a la Francaise, and roasted Brussels sprouts, and it was for us a date to remember.
Very accommodating to late arrival; thank you very much
terrible service. slow. left early
We were pretty disappointed. No one greeted us at the door, upon sitting down we waited for 30 minutes for service. The team was completely understaffed and did state they were overwhelmed. Having said that the food was also a massive letdown. We were thoroughly shocked by the poor experience. All in all we wouldn’t recommend it to others although it did come highly recommended to us. Unsure exactly what was going on, and if this was covid related or the restaurant has simply just taken a turn downwards. Not what we expect when paying $275.00 for our anniversary dinner.
Food was absolutely incredible! Every bite was better than the last. Such a cute atmosphere and amazing service.
Great food. Great ambiance. Server was horrible. Never came to our table to check us. Had to hunt him down three times. Otherwise, I highly recommend
Had a Valentine's Day Reservation which told me a prix fix meal price online and was almost double what was stated. Was after a romantic dinner though so obviously not going to barter the price in front of my SO. Was truly a great experience up to that point.
I am glad you enjoyed the 5 courses special menu with a complimentary drink on Valentine's day. Sorry, I had only one price for all of my guests on Valentine's Day. Not even a single guest complained about the price. The value was over $110. I & my staff work very hard and risk our lives to serve our guests, & getting 2 stars from someone looking for a bargain really hurts in these pandemic times. The price was clearly stated on the menu which was provided to you & your partner.
One of my favorite SF dining experiences!
The tuna appetizer and seabass was delicious. Also, the heated area and service was amazing! I highly recommend this place.
Came here to celebrate Valentine's Day, and it was delicious! Flavor was spot-on for all of the dishes, and the desserts were absolutely amazing. The only thing is that I probably wouldn't come back unless it was a special occasion — serving sizes for each plate were a bit small for the price.
It is a really good restaurant. I will go there again.
Classy, elegant, delighted with garden in back, wonderful ambiance, European feel... Delicious dinner, Excellent service! A "neighborhood gem" to discover!
Excellent service , amazing quality food.
Best Sea bass I ever ate.
Great food and attention. Outstanding! I will come back for sure
Isa has created a pretty and heated outdoor dining parklet and sidewalk seating. They’re gracious hosts, attentive & fun waiter, and the dishes we chose to share (intended as own entrees or for sharing) were delicious flavor combinations. (Shame on the wine bar next door that was disregarding all Covid-related health/safety regulations, and whose drunk patrons try to use Isa’s restrooms. They do a disservice to the entire SF restaurant industry and cause everyone to suffer shutdowns)
The menu hasn't changed since the last time we dined at Isa. But the dining experience has changed. It used to be that when specific knives were served together with the duck breast dish. That didn't happen when we dined on 12/01. The server was standing close to us and he was loud, which was a little alarming, in that loud speaking even with a mask on produces enough respiratory droplets to spread COVID. Can't really blame him since it's hard to hear people clearly when they have their masks on. The highlight of the night was this other diner who showed up with his mask and he was another loud talker (he acknowledged that he did not have his mask, but hey, it's a lovely evening.) *don't know what the connection was between not wearing a mask and the state of the night. He and his female companion sat a few tables away, but he talked a lot. We didn't feel comfortable, even though we were sitting outdoor. He could transmit something to the server and we could get transmitted from him. Long story short, we didn't want to stay for dessert. Paid-up and left. Won't be back for a while.
Isa is a must go to restaurant. The Chief and his staff are providing a great dining experience. The ambiance is very romantic and the meals are so well prepared. Every dish was flavorful.
Excellent dishes that treated the accompanying sides as an integral element, rather than an afterthought. Delicious. Highly recommended.
Best risotto I’ve had in a while!
Great food, great and friendly service!! ❤️❤️
It was an okay experience! Was a little cold outside even with the light lamp ! The food came out at least 45 mins so I was starving and not happy about that ! It was my birthday so I expected maybe a birthday dessert or something as most places provide some kind of free birthday treat but nothing . I would not be going back anytime soon .
The ambience is very romantic and great to being a date. Also, we love the food and the options that they have - bread is awesome!
It was amazing! The area of town is super cute and outdoor-friendly (we are from Maryland). The tables in the garden area were well spaced and there were plexiglass dividers between them as well. Everything we ordered was amazing. The yellowtail appetizer was so good we ordered a second one after we devoured the first one. We also got the mussels appetizer. For our main meal, we got the lamb, duck, scallops, and risotto. The scallops and lamb were preferred but but all the entrees were outstanding. We wish we would have found this restaurant earlier in our visit as we would have returned!
