Lovely meal Will be back when the restaurant reopens.
Fantastic food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere.
Lovely find, lovely food, will come back
We had such a great time, food was lovely, staff very helpful and friendly, will definitely go back.
Great dining experience. Food was exceptional. Great tasting inspired me to try something different. Would thoroughly recommend this to others
Amazing food! (We had beef cheek and Hake.) Drinks were also delicious. Service a wee bit slow but not awful.
Excellent value for money. Food very good and well presented. Service friendly and efficient. Toilets clean and nicely decorated. Would recommend.
Excellent service from all 3 of the team at Ishka on Saturday night.
Great food the steak & chicken breast dishes were excellent. As was, the personal service from Tom a good Newcastle fan so it helps ha ha & Siri.
I will recommend Ishka to my clients & colleagues at Change Recruitment. Myself & my girlfriend will be happy to go there again in the future. Tony Davison
Food was delicious but portions were a little small. We would have preferred larger portions as it was so good. Brownies could have been warm
The food was basic. My soup was bland no flavour whatsoever. The chicken main was ok but the whiskey sauce was like raw whiskey and the cream sauce watery. Neither had been reduced down.
Great meal at a reasonable price. Mussels were amazing. So was sorbet and praline mousse.
We were delighted to find somewhere with an extensive gluten free menu for a change!
Waitress was lovely and very attentive. She had put together a great eclectic play list which added to the ambience! Have already booked to return and recommended to others.
The menu was quite extensive but only two vege options. One of them, they had ‘run out off’, which is odd considering it was a humous wrap. How can you run out of humous?
The place was empty bar one table on arrival a 12.40 so how they could have run out off it?I ordered a glass of wine on arrival, it took over 20 mins to arrive. This is because the wine I ordered was not a chilled bottle so the waiter put ice in a wine glass and sat it on the counter for 20 mins to give an illusion of a chilled wine.
Really shoddy. If you can’t even pour a glass of chilled wine in a supposed wine bar it is not worth it. Head into town where proper restaurants will give you a £15 lunch menu at a considerably higher quality and value.
I'd passed this place a few times but not tried it. So glad we went for lunch. Friendly, welcoming service. Quick to offer drinks and menu. Portions for lunch not huge, but just right for a quick lunch. Definitely a place for a return visit.
Fantastic value for money great service and staff. Recommend the beef cheeks
Filthy restaurant. Despite only having 4-5 tables occupied with diners, dirty dishes were piled up on all spare tables and in the time we were there staff made no attempt to clear up.
If front of house is allowed to get this dirty and u tidy, I don’t want to think about the state they let the kitchen get into.
Just excellent. Nice young guys working there. Casual atmosphere, but clean, modern and comfortable. Food was excellent, with some different combinations that worked well together. Good portions that were not the tiny ones you often get, yet not over stuffed, perfect. Very tasty and I'll be back.
It was very quiet with not much atmosphere. Staff were lovely.
Great lunch deal - £15 for 2 courses and the food was great and excellent service.
Food is always tasty, service a little hit and miss even when the restaurant is very quiet. I do not like waiting for my bill at the end of a meal especially when it is a business lunch and need to get away quickly.
Have had lunch here a couple of times and was impressed enough to have dinner and as per the lunches the food was great as was the quality of the drinks and the wine and prices are reasonable. Definitely go back and definitely recommend.
The restaurant was quite quiet so no issues with noise levels however there only seemed to be one girl taking orders and making up cocktails so it took a little time to get drinks and place our order. That being said we weren't in a hurry so no real issue for us. The food more than made up for the initial wait as it was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We were the only ones there for the entire hour and a half so atmosphere was lacking but the food was good and the service (unsurprisingly) attentive. Deserves more business.
Had a great experience in the restaurant. Food was good, staff were friendly, Even got a free large single malt whisky for my birthday!!!!! Thanks a million guys
The minute I stepped in I knew I was in the wrong place ! The lights were bright, low or no music and absolutely zero vibe. The diners looked bored and we were in and out in 45 minutes for a starter and main course. The waiter was plesant and seemed to be alone which he handled well. Food was fine but not fine dining (they were trying and failing) and there is lots of better places to go. We had hoped to take advantage of their cocktail list but it was such a bland venue we decided to go to Panda and Sons after instead and refrained from any orders. Our night quickly got back on track the moment we stepped out...
Excellent tasty food and slick service in a relaxed environment
Centrally positioned for access Edinburgh’s entertainment attractions
Lovely cocktails, with lovely food options-was difficult to choose one of each course!
Lovely staff, cosy warm venue.
Food was yummy and free desert for my son’s birthday
we’ve been twice recently & really enjoyed it ,friendly staff great value nice surroundings & lovely food & cocktails 👍
Great wee place. Very tasty food, beautifully presented. Good service. And very reasonably priced.
Asked for two glasses of wine, then changed our minds and asked for the bottle. told they had just opened the last bottle so it would only be a glass. Didn't offer another bottle. Service was really slow and they look like they didn't really want to be there. Dessert was nice. Starter was a little greasy. Chicken tasted like it had been reheated rather than cooked fresh. Good for a lunch deal - or even better if you are able to get it on Groupon. Other places around that area that are maybe better.
Love this restaurant, great food and service and staff always lovely. The only comment I could make is that I wish the 2 course lunch menu allowed to either have a starter and main, or a main a dessert.
Excellent food, service friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
Excellent dinner with attentive staff. Very enjoyable.
Delicious food, fantastic service
High expectations were let down unfortunately.
Warm welcome but went downhill from there.
Food was very average & despite it being early 6.30pm and quiet - service was slow.
Only positives were a nice cocktail and nice wine options.
Food was really good and not too expensive. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not service oriented at all. We had to wait a very long time until we were served. Even after the dessert menu was brought, we had to wait very long until someone wanted to take the order. This was a pity!
Friendly place, attentive staff, good quality food at a decent price. Good vegetarian options as well very tender lamb rump. Excellent range of drinks. The evening we went was very busy (match at Murrayfield and the festival still on) but staff were keen to explain it was normally quieter. We'd eat there again.
Food was excellent and tasty, the service was a little slow . But it was the last day of the festival so Edinburgh was busy that night
Staff where friendly and helpful.
I would still recommend this place to people as the quality and size of portions was excellent
Really good service from super friendly staff. Couple of issues - too little bread/crackers for pate, waited a while for drinks. Starters better than mains. Overall a good experience given it was so busy on a festival weekend. Thank you
This was a very relaxed visit at a time when Edinburgh was at its most hectic during the festival. The staff made us very welcome and gave us time to settle down before taking our order. The food market menu was sufficiently varied to allow choice and was good value for money. The wine list contained a better than usual choice of single glass wines which were of good quality. We certainly wish to return on a future occasion.
