At Issho Bar, our cocktails are laced with Japanese flavours and we’ve also got a full sake list, selections of Japanese whisky and beer, plus all of the usual suspects and a menu of brilliant bar bites.
The rooftop terrace is also a great spot for enjoying snacks and cocktails, and our acoustic musicians bring the bar to life every Friday and Saturday night.

No table on arrival although booked. Drink order incorrect, food order missing one dish. No soy sauce given, had to ask.
Amazing interior - been a few times for drinks so thought I would book afternoon sushi “tea” for my wife’s birthday.
We was seated efficiently but then it was all downhill from there. The waitress just vanished and we would have to prompt other staff members to accommodate basic things such as, taking our drinks order (being sat there for over 20mins).
As we are regular sushi eaters we were expecting that Issho would stand out with the top places. Don’t be fooled with the lavish interior.
Trust me £25pp for tea and 1 proper sushi item is a complete joke and the Nigiri was no better than Yo Sushi’s!
Anyways at the point of paying the bill we requested if the 10% service charge would be taken off - which was done. When the chap asked us why we told him an honest account of our experience.
He said he would speak to his manager and get back - he popped back after a couple of minutes to tell us “the manager can’t come as he is busy and he apologies for the experience”.
Tried to win us over with some free drinks but I couldn’t be bothered having to wait for 25mins for a glass of coke.
Better bar than restaurant.
Ate in the restaurant rather than the bar. Fantastic
We decided to book some where we hadn’t been before for Saturday night dinner. When we arrive it was clear that the booking was not at the restaurant and we were told we had just booked a table in the DST for drinks. In the bar we didn’t have a reserved table so just sat where we could. Despite there being lots of staff it was difficult to get a cocktail menu or to order drinks. The first cocktails were very good and the venue is very smart. Would have been good to have been on terrace but this was full.
Our second round of drinks took an age and sat at the bar 15 minutes till all the ice melted.
We left after this and went somewhere else for food.
I can’t understand why a bar is taking bookings on top table for dinner. As a bar it has great views and decor but rubbish service.
Great good, surroundings are perfect and relaxed. Attentive staff but when it got busy the service seemed to lack a bit. We waited a good 40 mins for them to take our tea order. Overall recommended.
make sure you confirm your booking i was told on arrival i had booked for a seat in the bar for bar snacks as i had travelled from hull to eat there for a special occasion i told them they had made a mistake after much broohaha we were allowed to sit near the kitchen !!
we were offered some crisps and dip as compensation
the foods ok but the lobster wasnt
all in all a bit dissapointing
Lovely setting, smart restaurant, great value for money lunch, we had 3 dishes for £15 a head, there was plenty too.
Booked a table for an event night (live music) for a special catch up with friends online. Although I selected the link in the website to book a table in the restaurant it defaulted to bar booking when transferring to open table. When we arrived we were offered a table in the bar with a bar snack menu! Absolutely not what we booked. The staff were also very rude and made out that I should have realised my error! Had the staff showed the slightest bit of care I would have returned as it looks like a lovely place but we most certainly will not be giving them a second try!
A seriously glamorous setting for authentic Japanese food and great cocktails.
Second visit and just as good as the first time, amazing food and service. There is something for everyone here.
A real Gem on the Leeds restaurant scene FABULOUS !
I was really disappointed that booking a table for drinks more than a week in advance was for inside only, there was no where that stipulated that. Even after booking online and then receiving a phone call asking me to ring back, then ringing back to confirm my booking??! was I told that! It wasn't really where we wanted to sit on a warm Saturday afternoon. I was told that it was to make it fair!! It seems that people walking in off the street and standing over tables constantly asking if you were leaving seems fairer!!! In such a dignified bar it seems ludicrous that you have to literally push people out of the way to sit outside on a summers day! That aside the cocktails are amazing! Table service was poor, constantly looking for a waiter to take your order and getting the bill took quite a while.
