Issho Ratings and Reviews
What an absolutely incredible experience! We had the January set menu each and that was amazing! The chefs really know how to put amazing flavours together especially in dishes you wouldn’t expect. It was great to be able to taste new dishes that aren’t usually on normal menus and to experience the expertise of the chefs. Service was great. The atmosphere is really cool and the layout of the restaurant is modern and sophisticated. Extremely happy with our dinner date!
Fantastic gastronomic experience with a wide variety on the set menu which was cooked impeccably. The service was second to none, and we never had to ask for anything, even not asking g to top up our wine. Thoroughly worth the stay over in Leeds. Will be back very soon. Thank you
Very special food and ambience. Was my 50th birthday and we took both grannies and our son for lunch -all loved it, food was exquisite and the ambience really sophisticated. Not cheap- £280 for lunch inc tip- one bottle of wine, a beer and 3 gins, plenty of food, 1 pudding. All had a lovely time, all felt was special so job done. Drinks service before meal a little slow but maybe we hadn’t “got” that as went to sit on terrace outside. Service excellent in restaurant.
I have been to Issho many times since it opened and I am yet to be disappointed! The food is always fantastic and the service from the staff is excellent.
I have never been on Sunday when they have the bottomless Prosecco and it is the first time I have ever been annoyed by the ambience. It is a noisey place but people are generally respectful, unfortunately drink does things to people and there were some roudy groups which did affect the enjoyment of my evening with family.
Generally a fantastic restaurant, would highly recommend.
Amazing restaurant, we were extremely impressed. Without exception, the food was fantastic. (They also cater for allergies with ease, we are dairy free and could eat almost all of the menu and the sorbet was amazing!).
The service is great too. Alexander in particular was super. Very attentive, knowledgeable and the perfect balance of friendliness without being imposing.
We have already booked to come back with friends in a couple of weeks. We would highly recommend!
The four of us enjoyed an excellent value lunch from the £15 menu
We had very good service especially by the barman on our arrival. The food was beautifully presented and very enjoyable
Sushi excellent and portions were generous
The Japanese G&Ts on arrival come highly recommended !
The setting at the top of the Victoria Gate development feels quite special and we are looking forward to a lunch on the terrasse in the spring !
My wife and I ate at Issho on Saturday night for the first time. Everything about this restaurant is excellent, the food was so good that I’m already planning to go back. We both loved everything about the place and had a great night out. I’d recommend very highly.
Issho is an incredible restaurant. I came here for my birthday and it did not disappoint - the ambience was lovely and very fancy but not over the top. The food was incredible and came wonderfully presented. Would definitely come back and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks for a lovely time
We booked this restaurant as it was our son's birthday and he had previously had drinks in the bar with his father so they had a good idea of what it was like. We all really enjoyed the whole experience. The food was wonderful. We shared all the main course dishes and did not leave anything. The food was beautifully presented. We each had a pudding (3 puddings in total) and they all went down well. We enjoyed being able to see the chefs working from our table and had a really good time. Thank you Issho x
We went for my godaughters 21st and I was very happy, the food, service and choices were terrific. Our waitress Jen was great advising us on every course, her knowledge of the food was terrific. Tom the manager was also great attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant decor was beautiful. The menu is modern, westernised Japanese, but very yummy. Can't wait to go back thanks guys.
I had a lunch meal with my partner and our 3 months old. We had the pram with us and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They even sat us at the other end of the restaurant so my partner could breast feed if she needed to.
Food was awesome. Service was awesome. I would definitely recommend, including families with very young children.
We had an amazing experience. The restaurant itself is superbly designed, decorated and presented to such a high standard and gives off a relaxed and very cool vibe.
Service throughout is impeccable as is the food. Presented to, what will be, award winning standards.
We didn’t hold back on our evening food ordering and to have a meal with a superb dessert for four people at under £200 with drinks really was impressive.
You need to try this place, you’ll love it
Second time I have eaten here and was not disappointed. We had a drink in the bar before eating. The heaters were on so we were able to sit outside. I loved the fact that we were offered tap water also to drink in the bar along with our alcoholic drink ( as well as with our meal). A nice touch and I wish more places would do this. When we went through to the restaurant, service was quick so next time we will order our selection of main course dishes in stages. (Hard to explain but dishes are served as they are cooked). We were tempted by the desserts and chose cold rhubarb crumble and warm toffee rice pudding. We shared - and both were delicious (and very filling). Definitely returning.
Was here for my birthday, and ordered sushi which would prove very high quality. Only ordered California maki, vegetable maki and salmon + avocado maki due to the restaurant could not guarantee the tiger prawns to be sustainably fished, and the eel is not available sustainably fished, because it's close to extinction. I really think the restaurant should consider either taking away the not sustainable options or switching it all to sustainable options.
All-in-all a very nice restaurant, brilliant food and a good-looking interior ++.
