The food and the presentation was absolutely delightful, the staff were great, the bar staff were super.... and the little gesture by the restaurant to offer us 2 glasses of prosseco and some dessert was really lovely! so all in all a highly recommended place if you want a good japanese meal!

The food and drinks were excellent, though a bit pricy. The service was a little slow too, even though it wasn't particularly busy. The views from the lounge area are amazing, but I didn't realise that this area was for the bar only and was disappointed I couldn't have my dinner there (though bar snacks are available). Overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely go again.

Professional and attentive service, and lovely location, use the stairs to approach if you can its an impressive build up.
As a rooftop restaurant, the restaurant doesn't really cut it: we didn't get a panaromic view of a summer evening, more a view of the red brick building opposite. Although the terrace looked lovely, but it was full by the time we left our dining table.
Food was special: differing flavours and textures and very enjoyable, I would ask for each dish to be brought separately next time: the first 4 dishes came right on top of each other, and we were left wondering which one to let go cold.
Enjoyable restaurant.

The food is of excellent quality, but portion sizes were very small and leave you a little hungry. Portion of Black Cod at £34 was barely a mouthful. If you like to have tasters this is the restaurant for you, but be prepared for the bill , £162 for two of us and that was without wine only a couple of beers each.
The atmosphere was great and can’t fault the service, it has a nice buzz.

We had a lovely holiday lunch in the patio. Nice atmosphere and good food, particularly the Bento Box, vast blend of dishes at competitive price. On the drink front they had ran out of Moet unfortunately, so we picked another good brand (LP) from the wine list. The service was friendly, however the kitchen was a little slow that day, which was unfortunate. Holidays I guess...

Great setting and loved the outdoor terrace following our meal. Selected the £65 taster menu and expected food to be outstanding but it was fairly standard for the price we paid. Service was very fast and we had to ask them slow down so that we could enjoy the food. Glad I went but won’t be going back in a hurry.

For us it was a unique experience. Drinking cocktails high up on a roof top in a lovely oasis was incredible. The vibe was uplifting, stylish and energetic. The service friendly and helpful. We were not rushed at all. We had the £45 pound set menu and because there were 3 of us we benefited because the portions we were given were for 4 people. Each course was exquisite, beautifully presented and very tasty. Personally I would have liked to have more detail on each course and what we were eating and the ingredients used as each dish was put in front of us. I think it would have enhanced the wonderful experience even more. But we all agreed it was an amazing experience. Keep it up! Thank you

I booked a table at Issho for my wife's birthday with another couple as I wanted to take her somewhere special. The ambiance was brilliant and we were really looking forward to ordering our food. When the time came, the waiter called my wife 'love' and suggested that me and the other man in our party may want a beer without asking what we'd like. I get that he was trying to be friendly, but in a restaurant as exclusive as Issho, you would expect more, especially when they also add a service charge to your bill. The majority of the food was delicious, but myself and my wife ordered half a lobster for our mains, which was one of the most expensive 'big plates' on the menu. when it came, there were only two pieces of lobster in each half (not their fault- they can't make the lobsters any bigger!) - we both tried a piece, thought it was over-done, so tried the other and it was the same) I told our waiter, and he said that there's nothing that can be done as we'd eaten most of it, I pointed out that there's not much to try and when he shrugged I let it go. I then went and privately asked him if anything special was planned for my wife to celebrate her birthday and he said he would take care of it. A few minutes later a plate with 'happy birthday' written in chocolate source with a couple of tiny meringues appeared, which to all of use seemed a massive anti-climax. I wasn't expecting fireworks, but it just looked very underwhelming. I then asked for the bill and when it came it was in excess of £250. I had expected to pay something like that originally, but considering I was unhappy with a few things, I mentioned my concerns to the waiter and he said he'd talk to the chef. He walked to the till, printed out another receipt and came back with the lobster knocked off and said the chef had agreed to it. he blatantly hadn't even asked him, he just did it himself. Overall, the small plates were great and I'm glad he knocked something off the bill, but I wouldn't go again.

We were running late due to bad weather and the staff were super accommodating making sure they rushed our order through before the kitchen closed. Gorgeous food. The only down side was that I wanted to eat it all again once I was done.

Isshio has very approachable and delicious food. The tapas-like approach encourages trying new things. The grilled sweet potato with smoked lime sounds plain, but it is sublime. Also not to be missed are the warm donuts for desserts—kinda like Japanese churros.

This was my second visit to the wonderful Issho. And, once again, WOW..!! The food is absolutely amazing here. We received a set meal as part of the fantastic 'Eat Leeds' initiative which saw us receiving some of the tastiest Japanese food for only £30 per person. The styles, combinations and overall freshness were second to none. On Friday evening, which was an extremely busy time for the staff, the service was unquestionable too. Absolutely fantastic!

Restaurant was good
Bar less so. It was quiet but despite having five staff on it still took 15 minutes to get served. They seemed frantically busy doing restaurant drink orders.
Tables full of empties, had to clear a table myself. Going through to the dining area felt like a different world, much more upmarket.
Wouldn’t be inclined to go there for drinks alone.

Me and my boyfriend were celebrating Valentine's Day at Issho. We had the Valentine's Day menu which was very delicious. I love the duck breast from the main course which was very tender and juicy!! Jamie was serving us the whole evening who was very professional and friendly. The restaurant has a very nice interior design with great menu and staff. The only thing that can be improved is the smoke from the open kitchen is too much which makes the environment very stuffy. Other than that this restaurant is super b. Keep the consistency!! Will definitely going back to Issho very soon.

Me and my partner have been meaning to visit Issho since it opened last year but only just made it there recently - it was worth the wait! We started in the bar as we were a bit early and had cocktails (the bloody samurai and the bramble) and a beer to share, all delicious! When we were taken through to the restaurant we were given a lovely little table with a good view of the kitchen which we loved! As me and my partner don’t get to go out much (having a 1 year old) we were up for trying everything! Our server Joe was beyond lovely and gave us some recommendations. He was so helpful and knowledgeable even tho he had only been working there a few weeks he said. We ordered the Beet salad with Pork Crackling, Tuna Sashimi, Tempura Prawn Sushi Rolls, the Duck and Nashi Pear, Wagyu and Truffle, Soft Shell Crab with Wasabi Mayo and the Lobster with Lime Butter. Each dish was so unique and cooked perfectly, what an amazing kitchen team you must have! The lobster was the winner for me, I could’ve had another easily! We ordered a couple of different Sake’s to match our food, we loved them and the little cups to drink out of - so cute. For pudding we went for the sharing platter (meant for 4) which was way too much but we wanted to try it all! The rice pudding in particular was amazing! Another member of staff we wanted to thank (but did not catch her name) was a lovely lady from Malaysia but had lived in Yorkshire for 10 years she said. She was absolutely amazing and talked us through all the desserts, a real credit to the restaurant. Overall, we agreed it was the best night out we have ever had and can’t wait to return to your lovely restaurant! Although it was an expensive night for us it was worth every penny! What a treat. Thank you Issho.

We took our son here for his 21st birthday, four of us had a table for 6pm but even then the atmosphere was lively and fun, the kitchen theatre was great. More than anything though was having food that was not only fresh and delicious in a tapas style but also eating things we had not had before, the sushi was really good , the rice pudding dessert was also lovely. We had a most enjoyable two hours. My only slight picky dislike was that the rhubarb crumble and custard was a cold dessert and I expected it to be hot, it still tasted good though! We will definitely re-visit Issho.
