J Sheekey Atlantic Bar
Top notch service. Unobtrusive and just very, very good. Prices are a little on the high side for the portion size, but it’s central London, it’s Sheekey so we let it slide because the food is excellent.
Excellent pre theatre venue for nice fresh seafood and pleasant ambience
The Atlantic Bar is such a special place. Wonderful food of course but also excellent service from lovely staff. Highly recommended and one of my favourite places to eat.
J Sheekey is one of London’s absolute restaurant gems. I treated my aunt to lunch after a visit to the National Portrait Gallery and we thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Atlantic Bar. The new lunch menu delivered tremendous value at £30 a head for 4 small sharing plates and a glass of wine. The tuna tostadas and twice baked soufflés were particular highlights. We were very well looked after by the delightful Joyce. I don’t think fish lovers can do better in central London.
I love the food!!! Fantastic service and nice ambience
Everything was good
fabulous seafood, fish and cocktails - the tuna tacos are amazing
Loved our first tripe to Sheekey's. The Taps style of eating, having a drink and a good chat was ideal. Service was very attentive, without being intrusive.
Only dish we did not like much was the shrimp burger - very underwhelming and soggy.
The rest was fantastic - oysters so fresh and flavoursome......octopus, tender and tasty.....tempura, on point....and cheese soufle.....well, so nice we had to have another! Deserts - the Fish Bowl deserves a special mention. We shall be back!
We had a great meal sat outside in the sun. Service was fantastic and food was brilliant. Would come back every week no probs.
One of my favourites. Great food, great value and the staff are fantastic.
Really great oysters and seafood menu. Laid back bar. Great for pre-theatre.
We love J Sheekey! Been here many times and will certainly be back. Great location in the heart of theatreland. Super friendly service and delicious seafood in beautiful oak-panelled but unstuffy surroundings. Terrific!
Siting at The Atlantic Bar in J Sheeky is always an enjoyable experience. The restaurant is a hive of activity for which bar seats provide a great viewing position to soak in the noisy ambience of the venue. The choice of sharing plates is really good - our starter choices were salmon sashimi, tempura prawn and scallops which were all delicious. Our mains were dover sole (a special menu item) and J Sheeky's fish pie, with the latter always a great favourite. Last but by no means least, the dessert choices are great and the coconut pannacotta is especially recommended.
Sheekey's Atlantic Bar was brilliant for a post theatre dinner as their sharing platters are a perfect size and the food delicious. The ambiance was relaxed and not too noisy so we were able to catch up on family news. We have been before and would definitely go again.
Very disappointed with on-line reservations system. Trying to reserve for JSheeky and it kept defaulting to JSheeky Atlantic Bar. I did it twice with great care to confirm JSheeky, and eventually just assumed the restaurant I always have known as JSheeky is actually called JSheeky Atlantic Bar. Very disappointed to arrive and be seated, and presented different, non traditional menu.
Having said that, staff tried to understand and permitted me to order off regular menu. Food very good, as always.
Great food and service.Nice Live music from duo playing sax and guitar.
The service was poor but the manager (?) was excellent when we referred to the poor service and resolved it very quickly and efficiently
Superb food, excellent service and very efficient. It never disappoints.
The lunch time sharing dishes were tasty and plentiful. The octopus was as good as I have had, eel croquets were different and tasty and the tempura prawns were excellent. Overall a great experience. I will be back!
Busy restaurant offering a less formal/traditional, and somewhat cheaper, alternative to the original Sheekey's next door. Well suited to pre/post theatre dining, and they know their business, making sure that everyone is sorted out in time for curtain up (they actually ask when ringing to confirm booking). As a result it was heaving at 18:30 and a ghost town at 19:30. Some seats (along the front wall) a little uncomfortable due to constant passage of staff/customers between tables and bar. Food absolutely fine but not outstanding and a good variety to suit all, including good veggie selection as well as the main tradition of seafood. Lots of options to share.
Always reliable and a great dining option pre and post theatre, or for any occasion. I eat here frequently and at the Atlantic bar, it's always an ideal place for dining alone too. One of my favorite places. Highly recommended.
Service was a little slow to start with but otherwise very good.
It is so lovely to be welcomed at 10.15pm after the the theatre. It was quick, cosy, friendly and efficient. It is so conveniently placed fer a theatre trip. Definitely going back.
Food and place were great but they brought our food out at different times and one of my friends had to wait ages for her main meal.
Just popped in last minute, great as usual
Perfect pre-theatre as always. Food delicious, staff fabulous.
Still the best oyster bar in Western Europe - as long as you’re a lunch club member and get a large discount. Otherwise it is merely excellent.
Great location for theatre. Lovely room. Great lunch menu. Delicious fish. Beautifully presented dishes.
In search for the best fruits de mer in London following the closure of Lobster Pot a few years ago. This one is good but not 'great'. Out of crab so perhaps that had something to do with it....adding shrimps and winkles should be considered. Nice enough selection of oysters. The lobster was excellent. Lovely bottle of Soave. The restaurant is quaint and bubbly atmosphere. Service was friendly and perfectly unobtrusive. Will go again but search for best fruits de mer platter continues.....
Smart, buzzy bar that gave us a taste of Sheekey’s fab fish menu but in a cooler more relaxed atmosphere than the more traditional restaurant next door
What an amazing meal
We had a couple of glasses of the Ruinart champagne as we were celebrating, then 5 small sharing plates. They were all so amazing, between my partner and I we couldn’t pick favourites. Especially recommended would be the Octopus, Scallops and the Ceviche. The fishbowl dessert was fun and tasted great.
Service was friendly, prompt and professional.
Recommended. We’ll definitely go back here
Shown to the bar & handed a menu. Upside down. Happen to hear another waitress telling a nearby customer that there were specials.
Also found it strange that a normal knife is used & no fish knife considering it is mainly a fish restaurant!!
The food, the atmosphere was exemplary however only a small point, I ordered a drink which took forever to come and when it did come it was time for us to leave which wasn’t the norm as the first drink came within a few minutes so the issue may have been with how busy the place was but that’s no excuse.
Always great, feels like a second home
Tempting and varied menu which delivers on flavour, the staff are all wonderful from the doorman to front of house to the brilliant waiters. It ticks every box for anytime dining and particularly for pre-theatre when efficiency is key. Now I have to find a reason to return again. One request: please turn down the music, so that conversation is easier.
Always great, always delicious
I thought the service at the bar was very good but waitress did not know what type of fish was I. The specials...she knew the namd but not what sort/type it was which would have helped.
We really liked the table and the rest of the evening.

Great place for a leisurely lunch. Excellent food, with good recommendations from the team and good value for money wine by the glass too. Thoroughly enjoyed and no pressure to vacate table
