J Sheekey Atlantic Bar
Open daily from midday until late, food is seasonal, delicious and affordable.
Appealing to seafood enthusiasts, but neglecting no-one, the menu offers small sharing plates of fish, shellfish, salads and game, not to mention with the very theatrical Plateau de Fruits de Mer.
The team is passionate and knowledgeable, serving from an open kitchen as and when the dishes are cooked.
Please note that tables are subject to a time restriction. Tables that are booked from 5.15pm to 5.45pm are available through to 7.15pm.
Sunday: 12 noon-10.30pm
Lovely food, especially the Oysters!!great service and very friendly staff!
Good fish restaurant in the Ivy group. Food is really good, but I cannot understand that, when I was seated at the Atlantic Bar at 7:45, they had already run out of the Atlantic Bar martini. Very strange.
Wine by the glass is in 125ml or 250ml glasses. Nearly everyone in this world serves wine in 175. 125 is for bubbly and 250 is for drunks.
Great location, service, food, ambience all good. Nice washroom. Portions a bit on the small size.
It was my dad’s birthday, and we booked just two days in advance but we were sat in the perfect spot. Everything was amazing, the food was perfect. Dad was overjoyed as were all of us.
Thank you for having us and look forward to visiting soon!
Fantastic as always, a consistently great institution. A must if you love seafood!
We did another pre theatre dinner here. Food excellent and service very efficient. Tuna tartar lovely and fish pie divine.
Great atmosphere and great food. Sat at the bar. Lunch for two helped down with great wine. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. Lovely watching your food being prepared effortlessly in front of you. Attentive but not intrusive service. Come here for Saturday lunch every time we’re in London.
Had a perfect evening and delicious meal catching up with a dear friend. Amazing food, wine and cocktails - great service and a lovely Christmass-cozy atmosphere
Our favourite ever pre-theatre delicious retreat
Had a lovely pre theatre meal. Interesting menu with some good flavours. Service was very good and we really enjoyed our time here. Would recommend .
Excellent pre theatre meal Ideally located. Fast service. Fresh food
A classic, done very very well...J Sheekey has an offshoot restaurant that's both smart and relaxed at the same time. Still elegant with a warm atmosphere, you could almost imagine that you're in a discreet club whenever you slip in the door. The location is so convenient yet tucked away on a side street just a stones throw away from Leicester Square. When we visited for a Sunday lunch with children, we were very very well cared for by Elina and it made our meal so much more enjoyable. Food is solid...the fresh and raw seafood is where the restaurant really shines. The kind and caring service made all the difference for us and we'll be back!
Absolutely fantastic experience form start to finish!
For seafood lovers this is a must for all visiting London- particularly Covent Garden.
Food and service both exquisite. Worth every penny!
Great location right behind the Wyndham Theatre, perfect for pre dinner theatre
Excellent as usual. Our favourite place for fish. Fun evening.
Lovely food & atmosphere. Excellent service.
Never disappoints - fabulous seafood with excellent service.
Always a high standard, reliable, professional and good food
I like this place. The food is good, the 'feel' of it is good. BUT I'm not sure I'll go back. 2 and 1/4 courses and half a bottle of wine each came to £80 per person....and that was for a crab burger and a starter salad. And then the rushing to fit into the 2 hours allotted. (we were generously given 15 minutes extra). Now I don't think you can charge top dollar and act fast food at the same time.....
First time to this seafood restaurant and it was incredible! A must visit for any seafood fan
Great setting - great food - great service
Food still good, staff lovely as always, but something is missing. I've been a regular for many years and always enjoyed J Sheekey, however, the service is not what it was nor what it should be, especially at the prices charged. What a shame
A greta place, excellent service but the steak I had was not unto standard. Also on the open table search it came up as reasonably priced. The food was but the wines were over priced.
The food was good but over priced
Overall one of the best classic spots in London. Nothing better than a seat at the bar to people watch, order a nice bottle of white and the fish pie. Keep it simple and you won’t be disappointment.
Thoroughly excellent meal, looking forward to next visit.
Wonderful spot for late post- theatre meal. Sat at the bar and had a great selection of seafood and drinks . Service excellent
I popped in for a pre-theatre dinner and opted for the salmon sashimi with delicious dressing, followed by the soft shell crab & shrimp burger... which is a surprising mixture of textures but works well. Staff were very friendly and it was a lovely meal.
Lovely meal my only complaint would be that it was a bit too fast on the service! Would have been better to have had more of a wait for the food to arrive. Brilliant for pre- theatre I suspect!
The service was terrible. Lots of waiters little knowledge about the food. Not very attentive to coming to serve, I always had my arm up to attract their attention. They asked me many times about my allergies and then they gave me something with the ingredient I could not eat. Portions are ridiculously small. They were not flexible on my dietary requirements. Which were quite simple i.e. not oil not butter.
Always a fab place!
Went for my birthday meal as a surprise. It didn’t disappoint, food was amazing and service was great. Will definitely be returning. The surprise ‘happy birthday’ decorated plate and I complimentary truffles were beautiful, thank you!
Really great evening celebrating a birthday with family. The staff were exceptionally personable and it was a super fun occasion
It was a very relaxed and cosy experience after the theatre.
Had pre theatre meal for 2. Food was excellent and good portion sizes. We had fish cakes, crab burger, hake and chocolate fondant. A good choice of wines by the glass. Service on drinks a little slow and for price would expect complimentary bread but these are minor points.
Very good service and good wholesome food as ever. Has never been great value, but that is to be expected.
Brilliant service and attentive!
First time oyster eaters. Very nice indeed. Staff extremely helpful
Great place central to theatre land therefore we went for a post theatre meal 11 pm.
Excellent seafood stew and Fish pie and at an average price of £14.00 pp excellent value as well.
This was our first visit to this restaurant but will definitely go again for a late night meal.
It was an “ok” experience so as compared to the good comments I have heard from my friends before I went there, I came out of the restaurant feeling slightly disappointed.
Food and wine were great!
I did leave a message telling the restaurant that it was my friends birthday and we wanted a nice corner. Have to say... it was not quite the table I hoped for, I struggled to find out how was my table “nicer” than other tables... and Don’t get my wrong, everything was fine. Service was quite slow, I had difficulties getting our waiter’s attention. It was a Monday evening, I am too convinced it is considered as a “busy” evening.
