The place is an old school house with lots of charm. The food was so good and eclectic. Most menu items could be prepared GF& DF.
We will definitely go back
- best ever local, fresh veggie soup and salad, delicious main and yummy pavlova dessert
- wonderful staff
- restored old schoolhouse with lovely Indigenous accents and character
- hidden gem
Like eating love and happiness. Such a nice ambience and locally grown food-loved it!
We were at Jackson Falls last year and had a great meal with a beautiful atmosphere. This year the meal was good but the quantity was very poor for the price we paid and the selection was poor. Not much of a selection.
Great fresh, health dishes. Place for a quiet evening.
Great place. Cozy. Charming
Food was delicious
We very much enjoyed our Brunch experience. The food was excellent and the live music were excellent. We will return. GC
The restaurant is a bit out of the way for the majority of County residents and visitors, but very much worth the trip. Inventive menu, relaxed atmosphere.
This was a delightful experience. We will be back.
Delicious, unique, try it! Great food and atmosphere.
Excellent dinner. I had the vegetarian option and it was outstanding. One of my best meals out in a long time.
My husband had the pickerel and it was excellent also. Presentation was very well done.
We had an excellent Spanish themed dinner. Almost too much food, but delicious and great friendly service. High recommended.
The food and ambiance were both impeccable!
Great Native Local Food with European and North American recipe fusion. Atmosphere historic casual.
Definitely will return and have recommended to others
We ways have an exceptional experience here. Highly recommend
What a great find....truly a hidden gem. This little off the beaten path fine dining experience (without the pretense) is well worth the drive. I've lived in the county for three years and am saddened that I have not visited sooner. We will certainly be back.
The staff were a joy, the food was spot on, the cocktails were fantastic and the ambiance was special.
Thank you Lee (sp), you've done a great job and this is just the sort of dining experience that will make anyone's visit to the County a memorable experience!
Have been there on previous occassions and plan to visit again in the future
Top notch dining ! Plenty local beer and cider options, good wine list, exciting cocktails and fabulous locally sourced food.
I have a pregnancy induced garlic allergy which has made it really difficult to eat at restaurants. Garlic is in everything, so most of the time I don't even bother trying to go out to eat anymore. We came to PEC for a "babymoon" so I wanted to do something special. When I saw that this restaurant had Mokawk inspired food, I knew I had to at least try to eat here - opportunities for trying indigenous food are so infrequent. I called in advance to see if they could accommodate my needs and they assured me that while there were some items I couldn't have they could make others to order. Since their menu is limited I assumed there would be only a couple of things I could eat but I was determined to try anyway. To my surprise, the staff said they could modify 80% of the menu to meet my needs and they didn't seem irritated by having to accommodate changes at all. That NEVER happens. I was overjoyed.
I had a virgin blackberry mojito which was the best mojito I have ever had. We then shared the sumac wings which were perfectly cooked. I couldn't try the sauce because it contained garlic, but they were happy to provide sour cream instead. Then I had the duck. It came with wild rice, beets, cooked greens and pemmican. There was also a light berry sauce/redunction with it. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavour was incredible. My partner had the fish with bean succotash which was also very good.
Would have loved to try desert but I was stuffed at the end. Absolutely perfect meal.
Very disappointing that the elk "taco" did not on any way resemble a taco. There were 2 pieces of grey bread which was simply the same bread we had just eaten only fried
The dishes were unique and amazing! Food was great and servers were very attentive.
Very small menu of highly overpriced items which are far from gourmet. Dishes lack flavor and punch, very bland. We had seared duck ($30) and mushroom gnocchi ($19) and both were just average and underwhelming.
Menu is divided into small and big bytes, implying sharing like tapas style, however portions are way too small to share. Big bytes can be shared if you order few of them.
Ambiance was nice and decor was interesting. Service overall is relaxed and in some ways lucks confidence to get guests excited and to make appropriate choices.
Creative cuisine in a charming character-filled setting. Delicious pickerel and smoked chicken dishes. The only misstep was the overly big and watery Dark and Story cocktail served in a pint glass.
had a wonderful well priced meal even when my original waasnt what I expected they didnt hesotate to exchange it would go back in a heartbeat lovely area worth the drive.
Quirky environment with small but impressively local menu. Would have liked to have a larger portions and more options for gluten free like replacement breads for the bannock so left hungry. Quality and almost fine dinning experience. Worth the visit.
The Public House at Jackson Falls Inn is a true gem in Prince Edward County. Tucked away in the country side away from the tourist bustle is a beautiful bed & breakfast with this outstanding restaurant that foodies will love. Lee is amazing, if you visit you will be in for a culinary treat with some Aboriginal flair.
I was looking forward to trying food with a "Native flair" as they say on their website but the food was heavily Middle Eastern influenced and unfortunately very dry.
Good offer of local food, beer, wine and cider. Very nice athmosphere of an old public school.
We were in a bit of a rush so I didn’t get to sample as many things as we might’ve liked. The blueberry Mojito was absolutely fabulous. The starter of elk sliders was very good but a tad dry. My Portabella mushroom was so-so but nicely presented in the veggies were very crisp, and partner’s chicken was excellent. The atmosphere was very intriguing as it was an old school house with several additions that added to that effect. I wish we would have had time to have had a drink on the patio before hand because it was so wonderfully peaceful there outside
Small portions of fish and steak. Way over priced. Vegetarian meal was bland. Server was very pleasant.
Collin was a good waiter. He knows what excellent customer service is. The location is worth the drive. Food is superb. Price point is right on the money for what you get.
Lee was wonderful. Took the time to come over to say hello. Lovely place, so peaceful. Food good, service excellent.
Loved it! Good food, good wines, good service, nicely decorated.
We had a fabulous meal this evening, lots of fun, and wonderful service. Our time at Jackson's Falls was the perfect ending to a great afternoon in The County.
We enjoyed our evening very much and plan to return.
We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We were staying two nights at Jackson's Falls B&B so made dinner reservations for convenience the first night. Well the staff were so friendly and the food so incredible and creative that we ate dinner there the second night as well. And Lee, the owner came out to greet us and made us feel very welcome. We loved the relaxed atmosphere as well as the cool decor. We shall return on our next trip to the County.
Simply Amazing. This is one of the best meals I've had in ages. I would highly recommend. We can't wait to visit again!
We had a wonderful relaxing meal at the Public House, the food was delicious, the server was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere allowed for conversation with the right volume of background music. One dinner plate arrived and the food was cold so the server brought another freshly prepared meal for us. We were there for 2.5 hours and the seating was comfortable with a bench seat and chairs for our group, from appetizer to desert the meal was scrumptious, we left full and satisfied.
We went during Countylicious. Biked by it, drove by it, many a time. Thought we’d take the opportunity to check it out. Quaint. Great service. Friendly. Can hear your fellow diners. Food very good. Would recommend it.
