Stunning venue, professional, attentive staff throughout. The food was delicious & presented beautifully with a wonderful ambiance.
EXCELLENT AS ALWAYS - CANNOT FAULT THIS RESTAURANT - THE BEST IN THE MIDLANDS
Beautifully decorated and a lovely atmosphere. Staff couldn't do enough. A very enjoyable experience.
Lovely place to eat. Food was great, cocktails likewise. Good choice of wines and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Place itself a lovely place to eat. Very relaxed fine dining. One very small but nice touch might be hand cream in toilets.
Lovely decor, great ambience and fantastic food - the entire menu sounds appetizing. Worth a visit.
Very enjoyable evening with excellent food, friendly and efficient service in a great setting.
My only criticism is the wine list offers the majority of wines outside the price range of most people. If diners want to spend over a hundred pounds on a bottle that is fine but the starting price should be below £30
Sadly food was good but only good it was also luke warm!
The food was really nice, but waiting 25 mins for the wine to come back to the table, asking 3 times for some butter for the bread, having to send our starter back (scallops really overdone) and some of main cold.
Honestly felt like people around us were being made to feel attended to, whereas we were left feeling, well hungry and thirsty!
I’d come back, but - given it was my wife’s birthday & it felt anything but a treat - probably swerve it ‘til obvious staffing issues sorted.
Also why on earth would you close the bar downstairs, simply to use it as a room to hire?
First visit and very impressed with whole experience.
An absolutely beautiful dining room and very attentive staff and service. The only tiny critique was the iced glass machine by our table was very noisy perhaps it could be moved. But we had a lovely time and most definitely recommend it to friends
Enjoyable and very friendly.
Cleanliness was extremely high.
Ambience was good.
Excellent service and knowledge from staff. Food was fantastic. Restaurant very stylish.
Great as always, a welcome addition to the area. Delicious food, attentive and friendly service and a relaxed ambience.
The experience at Jacques actually exceeded our expectations and I wouldn’t hesitate to go again. Lovely ambience - they have got this just right in my opinion - and superb service. We had the three course lunch menu which was wonderful and very good value. I can highly recommended the lamb and the soufflé. The English Garden Spritz cocktail was delicious 👍 All in all just fabulous 😍
We had a fabulous meal at Jacques, the food was delicious, the service was impeccable, will definitely go back
Great meal really nice place
The decor and lighting are dreadful. So many different styles and themes. Clearly spent a huge amount doing it up but they need to look at other high end restaurants. The carpet looks like it came from an old pub! Food was good but tiny portions for the money. Service was good too. Please look at doing something different with the lighting. Far too bright. I counted 10 different light styles from where I was sitting!
A thoroughly enjoyable evening from welcome on arrival to arranging taxi home, the service was excellent and the delicious food a very high standard, with good a la carte menu selection and reasonable value wine list.
A pleasure to return here and so good to see that it’s got better since we went after 1st lockdown.
Easily the premier restaurant in Solihull and thoroughly recommended.
This was our first visit to Jacques to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. From the minute we walked through the door we received a warm welcome.
Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable and very efficient.
I had the tempura prawns, lamb and the soufflé and each mouthful was a delight. Portions were just right !!
Food was washed down with a couple of delicious cocktails.
We will definitely return
I chose this restaurant for my husband’s birthday treat! We were not disappointed. He is a head chef so he knows good quality food!
Our first visit which as local Knowle residents should have been sooner. The decor is fabulous, a really smart space decorated superbly, the lighting alone is worth seeing. Our table was spacious and spotless. The staff were attentive and friendly. Just two things though. We asked for tap water as environmentally we feel bottled water isn't good. We were actually given a bottle of Hilton water which was odd. When the bill was presented we were charged £1:50 and I queried this pointing out that we'd ordered tap water, we were told the charge was because the water was filtered. I said we were actually given bottled water but were then told that the bottled water would have been £3-ish but we had only been charged for filtered water. I didn't argue but it is total nonsense. I've been given filtered tap water in many places without charge. My main problem with Jacques is that the prices are geared toward high end food quality but sadly the food served doesn't match the price level. I had tempura prawn to start and haddock fish cake as mains. The prawns weren't fresh and sadly escaped from their tempura batter. The fish cake was pleasant enough, I might be wrong but I doubt it was made on the premises, certainly there was scant haddock present. My wife had halibut as a main, again pleasant enough but for around £30 the portion size was less than what was expected. The food was hot and pleasant as stated but for £134 including a bottle of wine, I expect much better food quality. For me Jacques is sort of Michelin in physical looks but large chain style in food. Interestingly we were asked if we had enjoyed ourselves, and as we like each other's company we honestly replied that we had. Pedantic maybe, but no-one asked us if we had enjoyed our meal, I'd even made a comment to be sent to the kitchen during the meal. In summary, lovely place but not at those prices.
Very attentive staff, relaxed setting and tasty food
First time going to this restaurant, was recommended! We will definitely be returning! Gorgeous food , lovely friendly staff , who couldn’t do enough for us ❤️
Excellent service and food great-felt rushed out towards the end as were asked to leave the table despite not finishing our tea after meal and would have liked a drink post meal. But we’re approached to leave the table as they needed the table for other people waiting which Spoiled what would have been ab excellent evening really . we were only in for under 2hours!! If we were warned of limited time we would have re considers our booking- unfortunately spoiled our anniversary evening and left a bad taste of poor hospitality
Food and service was excellent. Air conditioning was v welcome and helped make the evening a really good experience.
We are so fortunuate to have such an amazing dining experience right in the heart of our village. We had a wonderful evening celebrating our wedding anniversary and will certainly return again for special occasions.
The four of us had been waiting to try out the new Jaques for a while. We were not disappointed. Lovely decor, good service and excellent food. OK it was a tad expensive (especially by the time the wine was added to the bill) but we’ll worth it. Easy relaxed atmosphere. Nicely spaced tables, which are likely as they were pre Covid. Recommended for that special occasion.
Second visit for a family celebration. Lovely food especially the steak and smoked mashed potatoes. The deconstructed cheesecake with a glass of Prosecco to pour over was beautiful.
As were the long island ice teas…great night.
Fabulous place, service impeccable & food & wine outstanding. Highly recommend
Well done Jacques. Quite often when new restaurants market themselves as being high in quality then you are often disappointed. It looks classy on arrival and as you walk in you are met with professionalism and a smile. The decor is very stylish and as you walk through the restaurant it’s a real suprise. The cocktails are innovative the food is excellent the staff are attentive and you get what you pay for. We were delighted and look forward to our next visit
Just wow! Arrival, such a warm & friendly welcome. We dined in the downstairs area, which is beautifully decorated & is very cosy. Service & the food there followed & it was absolutely awesome. You must try the ‘Jacques Signature Soufflé’ probably the best dessert I’ve ever had! Definitely will return.
Excellent food and service, will be returning soon
A great restaurant to visit and leaves many others in its shadow. The ambience and staff all helped to make this a very memorable eveming.
I really like the idea of booking your owm private room here for your own function with friends or family.
The food was excellent, albiet very small portions. Never the less we left feeling very happy and contented.
Excellent surroundings that have been thoughtfully refurbished. Food was superb and creative and overall ambience very good.
If I am being picky I would have liked to have received a phone call before the meal, asking about any requirements/allergies etc. Also one or two of the staff poured drinks/served food without saying excuse me when interrupting conversation.
We will definitely come back.
Stunning food and the service was amazing staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend going there to anyone
Been wanting to try out Jacques for a while now, we went on Saturday to celebrate partners birthday and we wasn’t disappointed. Food, ambience and service all top notch. It’s a special occasion place for sure. Will definitely be returning.
Enjoyed our evening at this restaurant, it was recommended to us to try but overall felt that it was expensive and was not worth a second visit as we have had better experiences at other venues locally that have topped the food , price and presentation of the staff and efficiency.
I enjoyed the food very much, especially the various flavour combinations of the pigeon special. The description of the aperitif by the waiter went on too long, although the idea is nice and the drink was good. Our waitress may have been new and nervous? She didn't appear to be enjoying herself and didn't crack a smile once. My friend didn't enjoy his food, he said the scallops were undercooked (he likes them melt in the mouth), his fishcake was bland and the apple tarte was ice cold. The cheese board was good, as was the Gavi di Gavi. The surroundings are very pleasant and it was fully booked on a Saturday evening. All in all we enjoyed our time at Jacques but I don't think the prices are justified.
Delicious unique flavours and tasty cocktails. We had a comfy booth with plenty of room. The staff were attentive and friendly.
