We went as a family, and this is the first time we have been to Jaleo in late afternoon. The food was excellent, as always. Among the new items we tried was the crispy fried Japanese eggplant, and we all would recommend that dish. Usually, the restaurant is very noisy, but with very few people eating before 5:00 on a Sunday afternoon, it was much quieter than we've ever had it.
Ricardo, our service person, was tremendous. I took a friend, who brought her "active" children, and Ricardo and the door staff were patient and lovely. I only gave a "good" rating on Value, because Jaleo is not inexpensive ...and you know what, I don't care. I am so happy to see you in Arlington where I live. I moved here 18 months ago, and was introduced to Jaleo D.C. through friends in the Capital. Now I have my own. LOVE everything about the restaurant. With no close competition, my favorite in the region. Next time, I hope to take advantage of the Wine Shop.
Out of everything we ordered the complimentary bread was our favorite. The food left a lot to be desired. Service was ok. Ambiance was nice. We will not return due to the food not being worth the price. The menu is also hard to read.
As always very good. Only thing was while loved the rabbit, not sure why the apricot purée was on the plate? Least favorite thing that we ate. Food great for vegetarians as well as as all around eaters equally. Plus they serve the best fried foods in the city.
We did a tasting menu with wine pairings. Great food. Great Service.
The food was divine and the cocktails were delicious.
I went for what I thought would be a happy hour meet up with an old friend. However, Jaleo is one of those places that only does the HH in the bar area and not the whole restaurant, which makes a reservation pointless. The service was also subpar which as I was, at one point, the only person in the non-bar section kinda surprising.
Food was tasty, but I don’t recommend due to the other comments.
Enjoyed the Tasting Jose’s Way! Had to bring several dishes home. Food was great . Can’t wait to go back
Food was great and our server Austin B was awesome.
We went there with friends over Valentine week-end especially for the truffle specials. However these were truffles from Spain which, in my humble opinion, had very little flavor. They do not have the unique taste of truffles from France. We told our server and she told management. They explained the Spanish truffles are more mild. Bottom line: It was not worth the extra expense although food and service otherwise was good. We support Jaleo because of Jose work with feeding the hungry and will continue to support his restaurants.
Love this restaurant, and love supporting Jose Andres.
We have been to two other Jaleo locations and the food at this one in Arlington was not nearly as good as the ones in DC and Bethesda. The tortilla was incredibly salty and had to send it back. The bacon wrapped dates were friend and mushy. Won’t be back and would not recommend this location.
The food and atmosphere were excellent. A good choice for that special occasion!
Great food - always a wonderful experience
Warm welcome. Attentive service (even on a very busy Friday night). And the food was as it always has been over the past 27 years ... outstanding. This is not over the top cooking. Rather its is creative and high quality. Real food for real people.
Food was outstanding as usual!! There’s a reason why my family picks this restaurant for many special occasions and celebrations!!
Great food! And nice place. Totally recommend it.
It's hard to go wrong with a meal at Jaleo. So many options for everyone. I tried the liquid olive for the first time. It was very flavorful and interesting and will be a definite in future trips. For around $40 each, we sampled 3 different courses, and the sides and salads were large enough to share. Overall a great meal.
Good food. Staff were great!
Loved the food. Service was amazing. Quick turnaround for a lunch when we needed to get back to work. Highly recommend.
Service was great. Food was above average.
Outstanding food and service! This is a place to go for great food just about any time of the day that they're open!
Tasty food and great service. Will definitely dine there again.
I love Jaleo! We were seated in a table far away from the main part of the restaurant so it was pretty quiet. Everything we ordered was delicious and the timing of bringing the dishes out worked well.
The truffle With slow cooked egg and mashed potatoes was perfect.
Fantastic neighborhood gem to explore great food perfect for sharing and paired with delicious wines from around the world. Our favorite for sure.
Easy and fun! Our reserved table was ready for us and they even anticipated others joining us by having extra seats all set. The white sangria is delicious! The server was friendly and patient as he waited for us to decide on our tapas choices. All in all a good time... looking forward to the next happy hour.
I have been to several Jose Andres restaurants in Virginia, DC, and New York and Jaleo is my favorite one. The Crystal City location has excellent service and is top notch all around. The selection of Spanish tapas is second to none. I especially enjoyed the quince lemonade and the flan. This place never disappoints and is a wonderful dining experience.
Best food within 5 miles of DCA. If you pick up someone at DCA during rush hours (4-8), go to Jaleo for dinner and park free. Enjoy your evening and then cruise home.
Awesome food, service and atmosphere. I love this place!
Amazing food and ambiance! The volume level was perfect! We did not have to shout across the table to talk to eachother or anything!
Amazing food and service! The hostess gave us the best table, too. Definitely worth reserving. We all had the Jose’s way tasting and drink menu and it was sooo decadent! It is A LOT of food though, so make sure you’re hungry!
Food was ok
It was wonderful!
We went during Restaurant Week, with four tapas items and one dessert per person, it was plenty of food.
Great food and drinks, great service, nice ambience
Great service-tops in all ways. Food was a treat.
We went for restaurant week and the food was incredible!!! Every dish was better than the last!
Overall I had a great experience, but I can't say I'll come back. The food was good... a bit under seasoned for me, but good. We went during restaurant week so we were able to choose 5 tapas from a list with various option. Great options! I recommend their chicken fritters and the chocolate custard-like dessert. The staff were amazing and the bathroom was spotless.
I just decided that tapas are not my thing 💁🏾♀️.
