It was a busy night during restaurant week, so the service was a little slow. However, the food was fabulous - and was a fun girls night out. Thanks!
Checked them out for Restaurant Week. Good food but service was just okay. My waiter disappeared a few times.
In general, the menu for Restaurant Week in DC was very good. The Staff very helpful and always attentive. The excellent food. Definitely a good Tapas place in DC.
Terrific evening catching up with an out of town cousin. Just enough ambient buzz to feel celebratory but quiet enough to talk. Enjoyed the Wash. Rest. Week menu choices at great value. Non intrusive but attentive service. Happy customers!
I usually love Jaleo but we sat for over 1.5 hours with no food. They said it was a problem with a new system? We had to just leave because we missed the first period of the hockey game.
Felt pushed to buy extra items on the Restaurant menu even though we knew the items ordered would be enough good for the two of us.
We've been to Jaleo tons of times over the years and this visit did not disappoint. Coincidentally it was restaurant week and we took advantage of the restaurant week menu. Definitely bang for the buck. Our server was outstanding!
We loved the food and the experience!
The food was really delicious, but the service was not good. I think they had adopted a new system, and I understand that with tapas, the plates are hard to keep track of, but it was really bad service. I had to ask for water multiple times. But the fact that the food was so good still has a huge impact.
Outstanding service, lovely ambience and wonderful food.
I originally had a reservation for a different Spanish restaurant in the city, but it closed early for the night due to inclement weather. I made a backup reservation at Jaleo, but next time would definitely go out of my way to come here. Both the drinks and food menus are very carefully curated and include a wide variety of Spanish specialties. Our server offered a number of suggestions (especially the flauta) that did not disappoint. Turns out you can also buy bottles of wine from the restaurant, so I took advantage of that opportunity as well. All around an excellent dining experience.
Great food and service!
The food was delicious, the staff very pleasant and accommodating
Food is always superb. First time eating at this Jaleo, only been to Jaleo in Las Vegas previously. Consistently good and excellent service. Highly recommend the tasting experience offered on the menu.
Highly recommend the lobster coquettes. Check-in was fine. We showed proof of vaccination using photos on our iPhones.
Very cold where we were seated
We told the waiter and suggested a seat near by and he said it would be the same
Made the overall dinner experience very poor because it was so cold
Didn’t enjoy it
Not sure if I would go back
The food and service is amazing here every single time! The portions are perfect. I encourage you to try one of the tasting menus. A wonderful variety of exciting flavors and it’s so fun to share. The best part…it supports Chef Jose Andres, a man who stands for and supports those in need. He and his team offer food and comfort when they are facing an incredibly difficult situation. Can’t wait to return soon.
Great place and great service, my only complain was that the drinks were not as good as I expected ;) but besides that everything else was great 💯
Delicious delicious delicious! Creative, friendly, enjoyable.
Great blend of classics and modern interpretations of traditional tapas. Going back with friends for lunch!
Celebration dinner. Chicken was tough and coffee was cold. Flan was amazing
The food here is great, and the staff just lovely.
Our server, JoseV, was outstanding. Very efficient and knew the ingredients to address some dietary restrictions. Unfortunately the menu lacked some of the dishes they had previously served or others had different ingredients than in the past. Jose did explain some of this is due to seasonality and availability of various food items. With dietary restrictions it limited our options even more. Still the food we did order was delicious, even with the substitutions.
We were told the oyster order was 6 oysters. When delivered only 5. When we asked we were told they changed it to 5. Who only gives 5 oysters? Minor detail but weird especially after being told the order was a 1/2 dozen. Other than that all good.
Food was just outstanding (again!). Octopus and olive oil ice cream were the highlights. Absolutely fantastic!
Unfortunately, we were seated at the bar, and the one sole bartender ignored us and every other couple at the bar all night because he was so fascinated with one couple who ordered a couple of beers. We spoke to and watched two couples leave in disgust. Such a shame; the food is awesome!...but somebody needs to have a chat with the bartender 😡
This is a fantastic offering from Chef Jose Andres. The restaurant serves tapas, basically small plates of every dish. I would say for each person, a group should order about 3 plates per person. The whole point of tapas is to share, so get a good mix of things and enjoy!
The top two things we would recommend are: patatas bravas and shrimp with garlic. These are just fantastic!
We absolutely want to go back for paella, but it was just the two of us.
So good to be back after nearly two years and to find that our favorite dishes were even better than we remembered. Really enjoyed talking wine with our server who gave an excellent, accurate description of the very nice Verdejo. Oysters on the half shell and calamari were among the highlights. I'd turn down the music a bit, but that is personal taste, of course.
Jaleo is my favorite DC restaurant. Excellent food, service, ambiance. Outstanding dining experience every time
Excellent food and service
Is a really Spanish food, I am from Spain, and is like I am at home, at the topical Spanish bar with menu of the day. Amazing, also the staff is really nice!!!
Very good food, spanish enough (coming from a spaniard) but not too traditional, which I appreciated. For us was still a bit expensive in general, but some dishes were very good value for the price like rossejat. Nice ambience and service. We are trying oyamel tomorrow 😉 Keep up the good work!!
Loved the Crystal City location and sad that it’s closed now. This was great - just wish that basketball wasn’t showing on big tvs while was on a date and eating great (and not cheap) food. Really appreciated the covid protocols.
Fabulous meal as always. Four plates for two men was just right. The cauliflower was the best of the four. We showed our vaccination cards. Weather reduced the number of diners. It was odd not to see the place full, but better for us.
Great service, incredible food.
We had a delicious meal of the Jaleo tasting menu. It was well worth the price. The service was excellent. We had a great evening!
Food was great. Service was exceptional. Highly recommend.
Always a great experience- the tapas, the red sangria, and the value
It was wonderful-beautiful outdoor seating and great service and great food as usual.
Attentive service and the food was excellent.
fantastic restaurant, ambience, and most importantly the food.. absolutely DELICIOUS!! and consistently so, which is rare these days 😊
