Really disappointed about my first visit to Jamavar. The food was EXCELLENT, but the service was certainly below Michelin-standards. 1) The dining room was very cold 2) Staff were very scruffy looking - hair out of place and scruffy hair and appearance 3) Our mains was brought out right after our starter with no break in between. My partner had actually left the table to go to the loo and they still brought the food when he wasn’t at the table. 4) I had to ask them to take my coat instead of being offered the service when I arrived. 5) Other patrons were wearing tracksuits, hoodies, jeans - not what I would expect from a Michelin restaurant Overall - food was good, but service and ambiance lacking.

Food was excellent but we were rushed. We were immediately reminded after ordering cocktails we must give up the table in 2 hours. Then constantly pushed. At 1 hour 45 the next guests had arrived early and that was highlighted to us. Our waiter was attentive, however once again when we ordered dessert he highlighted he was bringing the bill at the same time. Personally I prefer a restaurant that is more focused on providing a great dining experience as opposed to profit and turning tables.

I recently visited Jamavar, a Michelin-starred restaurant, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations and left no lasting impression that would make me want to return. While the chops were delicious, the rest of the food was quite mediocre. The three curries we ordered tasted almost identical, lacking the distinct flavors you’d expect from a high-end Indian restaurant. The female staff members were attentive, which I appreciated, but a male staff member in a shirt was arrogant, rude, and unwelcoming, which put a damper on the overall experience. Given the poor standards, unremarkable food, and subpar service, I can’t say it was worth the visit. For anyone looking for a genuine Indian dining experience, I’d recommend trying Tamarind, which is nearby and offers authentic flavors and a far better level of service. Overall, we paid around £150 per person (3 adults and 1 child), which didn’t feel justified given the lackluster experience.

The tables were rushed…bill was placed and we’re told the next table was there and we needed to pay and leave. Food was amazing and otherwise service was good too.

Ambiance incredible. Staff amazing. Food STELLAR!! Wow. A friend recommended and this did not disappoint… every dish was amazing!!! The wine pairing was perfection as well. Wowwwwww. Words can not convey..
