Taking inspiration from the Viceroy’s house of New Delhi, the restaurant will be a glamorous Indian dining room with rainforest emperador marbles, dark timber paneling, gilded walls, and Lutyens inspired furnishings. The space will reflect the vibrant colours and intricate patterns of rare Jamavar shawls, offset with brass accents, hand-cut marquetry, and a sculpted bar that will celebrate the great textile traditions of India.

The food was very nice, I feel every guest is well received.
I love ambience always
Hello, Thank you for your review, we're so pleased to hear that you found the service and atmosphere as is expected. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
Such a disappointing experience. I Took my husband for he’s birthday. We ordered the Game Tasting Menu. The Game was all extremely over cooked, therefore dry & chewy. The Spices used were too hot & did not compliment the Game at all, except the pheasant which was very bland and so dry also overcooked I couldn’t eat it.
One of the worst meals I have ever had unfortunately.
I’ve been to numerous Indian Michelin star restaurants and this is no comparison. It was awful.
The service was attentive and the wine pairing good except the Port with a sweet desert!
We came away and could not believe just how poor the standard of the food was. My advice would be to take the Game menu of the menu. The chef is definitely not experienced in cooking game, it’s a shame as a lot of the other food coming out looked good.
Also the tables are so close together, it’s hard to get in and out without disturbing the people on the next table.
However that does not make up for terrible food we received.
I really like this restaurant - will return. Emma and I loved the Stone Bass.
Hi DavidH, Thank you for your kind words, we're so pleased you enjoyed our Malai Stone Bass Tikka and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
Stag do lovely food
Great spot for a business lunch! Highly recommend, will be going back there again
Hi 10GBS, Thank you for your review, we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
The best Indian in London
Brilliant food, great service and loved that we weren’t rushed at all Will be visiting again
Hi js14203, Thank you so much for your kind words, we're pleased to hear that you found everything as is expected and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
Having been to Jamavar previously we were a little disappointed with the lack of service and the quality of food. The ambience was too loud you couldn’t hear each other from across the table. Considering other nearby restaurants like Benares this wasn’t value for money.
I am deeply saddened to hear that we haven't exceeded your expectations this time on your visit to Jamavar as we always aim to provide the highest quality of guest experience. Thank you for the detailed feedback, this has been taken to the team in order to understand why did we fall so short on your visit. We have taken each word in consideration and as a team we will constructively improve on every aspect of it. Please accept my sincerest apologies, I truly hope to see you very soon in Jamavar.
Great birthday dinner
Hello, We're so pleased that you enjoyed your birthday dinner and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
Met the owner, what a delightful gentleman. Great place
The lamb chops melt in your mouth. The butter chicken was scrumptious. Delicious!
Hi RichardH We're so pleased that you enjoyed our Adraki Lamb Chops and Old Delhi Butter Chicken so much! We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
We always try to eat at Jamavar during our trips to London. It is consistently excellent.
This time we tried their Early Bird dinner (served from 5:30p-6.30p, perfect for pre-theatre). It is a bargain at £35 for 3 courses or £40 for 4 courses.
We each chose the Telicherry pepper and garlic soft shell crab for our first course - delicious. For our next course we chose the Malai Stone Bass Tikka and the Adraki Lamb Chop - each a delight. For third course, we ordered the Sindhi Methi Gosht (goat)and the Gucci Labadar (morels, peas and tomatoes), again lovely. Dinner with a glass of wine each, and naan, came to approximately £60 a person…a bargain for such creative and delicious food, that is not on your typical Indian menu.
We will definitely return!
Hi Globalguys, Thank you for a wonderful review and we're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Early Bird dinner so much. We look forward to welcoming you again soon to try more of our dishes! Thank you, The Jamavar Team
Everything was amazing! We came here a couple years ago on vacation and had to come back again! This time during our honeymoon! The butter naan is to die for! We also loved the butter chicken & the soft shell crab! Will definitely return again next time we are in London
Hello, Thank you so much for your kind words and for joining us during your honeymoon! We're so pleased you enjoyed our signature Old Delhi Butter Chicken and Tellicherry Pepper & Garlic Soft Shell Crab and we look forward to welcoming you back to try more dishes. Thank you, Jamavar Team
Not your average Indian but so worth the step up! Lamb main superb and plenty of it. Staff v knowledgable on menu and offer guidance. Tables a tad too close together
Hi spwallis, Thankyou for your kind review, we're so pleased that service was as expected and that you enjoyed the signature Laal Maas - it's one of our most popular dishes. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Thank you Jamavar Team
Just a place to eat, decent food, seemed to be Indian cuisine with a semi-modern twist. The staff were very attentive and courteous. Over all I would go again.
Hello, Thank you for your feedback, we're so pleased to hear that our service was as expected, we'll pass this on to our team. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, Jamavar Team
Loved the food and the restaurant (upstairs).
Wasn't a fan of the downstairs bar so probs best to give that a miss..
Excellent early evening fixed menu, good food, good vibe.
Honestly the best Indian food I have ever tasted.
Very slow service, food quality not of the standard expected, poor presentation of food, the soft shell crab gave me an upset stomach.
Food is over rated. Needs to improve.
Basics like daal, saag paneer and breads taste good.
Biryanis: 4 out of 10.
Soft shell crab: 5 out of 10
Lamb chops: 4 out of 10
Aloo tikki: 3 out of 10
Main problem is that neither does the food appeal to people seeking an authentic Indian meal nor does it appeal to the British / European fine dining seeking audience.
There is no wow factor where the food is concerned.
Ambience and service is excellent.
Great food; one of the best If not THE best Indian in town; attentive service and great location!
Everything executed to perfection
Great way to experience Indian cuisine. Our host was very helpful too
At that price point I expected much better. I may have been unlucky with what I chose but they were ‘signature’ dishes. Lal Maas was little more than a slightly spicy gravy. Price guide on Open Table way out. Paid nearly £90 for two courses with 2 small beers and would have thought poor value at half that (quite literally)
The restaurent need to be child friendly or upfront mention while booking so people know. It’s a basic to have kids chair !
The service was great though and crab was excellent in the whole menu
Awful experience. They didn’t give a place inside even though easily could have and should have warned before. Just said I booked online and I should have read the fine print. I told them I came with my mum who was visiting me and the only dinner we had out together for the first time since last year.Manager wouldn’t meet my eye at all despite me pointing out the obvious that she could easily accommodate us. Was with my elderly mother and sat outside so had to keep it short as it was too cold for her. Food was below average and massively overpriced for what it is. Worst thing was that we couldn’t eat as had the doorman outside staring at us for one hour and making us extremely uncomfortable. We left as fast as we could! Would I go there again- NEVER!
As good as ever!
Amazing as always! Food fantastic and the service spot on. Thanks again.
Dear Pritchy, Thankyou for leaving such a positive review. We're so happy you loved our food, and out service was up to scratch! We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Jamavar Team.
We were recommended Jamavar by a few our family and friends, thought we would give it a go but were disappointed in the food. Although the food was good we felt it was overpriced for what it was and could have been a lot better. We also felt for an Indian restaurant the vegetarian options were limited to what we were expecting and we were unable to have dessert despite our table still having 20minutes left. The bill came up to around £280 for 4 people despite us not getting to desserts.
We did however take off the service charge as we felt the service was okay and the fact they kicked us off our table earlier and stopped us from having dessert.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We apologise that your meal with us didn't live up to expectations and that you felt that the vegetarian options were limited. Your comments will be taken into consideration. Thank you, Jamavar Team.
Delicious food and great service.
Thank you for your excellent review. Jamavar Team.
Great experience, all the staff were friendly, from the time we entered the restaurant to leaving. Brilliant hospitality. Would definitely recommend Jamavar. Would definitely add extra praise for the two gentlemen who served us downstairs. Excellent service. Will definitely come back
Thank you for your kind review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your meal. The team will be so happy to hear your comments. We hope to welcome you back soon. Jamavar Team.
We really enjoy the relaxed feel of this place. The food is super tasty and well cooked. Great wine list and knowledgeable staff. We are definitely returning!
Wow! Thank you so much for your great review. We are thrilled! We can't wait to welcome you back. Jamavar Team.
We had a wonderful experience at Jamavar celebrating a birthday.
Looking forward to our next visit.
We are so happy that you enjoyed your celebrations at Jamavar. Thank you so much for your review. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Jamavar Team.
Perfectly cooked dishes, good variety on set menus, excellent service and atmosphere. Would have liked more mocktail options but overall very satisfied, great for a date night
Dear Raak, Wonderful to hear! We're so thrilled, it means the world to the team. Hope to welcome you back soon. Jamavar Team.
We loved everything, the only thing I found the food a bit salty for me, for my friend it was ok as she usually likes salty anyway and always add salt to any dish.
Dear Gabs, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry that you thought the meal was too salty. We're thrilled this didn't spoil the overall evening, and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Jamavar Team.
This restaurant to had been recommended to me by a friend. I went with my sister to celebrate a special occasion. We order the 4 course lunch set menu (£35 per head). We started with a glass of champagne, and then, after looking at the exorbitant price of the wine list, ordered a carafe of their cheapest rose (not impressive). The first three courses were good, but the desserts were not worth eating. The bill came to £162, ie £70 for the food and £92 for two glasses of champagne and 500ml of an indifferent rose. We spoke to the waiter, and they removed the service charge, but either way I would never go back. Their drinks list is exorbitant, and although much of the food was good it was not somewhere where you could enjoy a meal out.
Dear Chris, Thank you for your feedback. We apologise that the dessert didn’t live up to expectations. We will pass on your feedback to the kitchen. Jamavar Team.
It’s brilliant Indian
We are so thrilled that you enjoyed your meal with us. Thank you! Jamavar Team.
