From the moment we went in through the high, airy green entrance passageway, we knew we were in for a treat. The staff were exceptional, charming, friendly, evidently enjoying where they work. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in a long while and had lots to chat over. The impeccable food arrived at just the right pace and we sat easily able to chat. Fabulous Al round experience and we shall definitely be back.

We were very excited to be visiting Jamie's as part of my sisters 80th birthday celebrations. I had booked following a recommendation from my son in law, who particularly recommended the fish and chips. Our welcome was lovely and friendly. We were given advice about our wine, which was spot on. The Minestrone soup and scotch egg were superb, one of our party did not have a starter. We were very disappointed that our much anticipated fish and chips were unavailable, apparently due to the fact that it was a bank holiday and there were delivery issues?? We were offered deep-fried prawns instead, but not suitable for me as I can't eat shellfish, and not acceptable for my partner . So we chose alternatives, which were delicious. The mash was to die for. Two of us wanted Queen of Puddings, but again, it was not available. Was this too part of the failed delivery along with the fish? So we chose alternatives , which again were lovely. ... just one slight niggle, and one I feel Jamie would not be happy with.....THE CUSTARD WAS COLD!! The ice cream for my sisters birthday were a nice touch. Incidentally the chap who served us was absolutely superb, he was attentive and professional and a really nice guy. He worked so hard during our time there... Sorry I can't remember his name. I am sad to say that overall we were disappointed with our much anticipated visit. Would we recommend Jamie's? Sorry, but probably not after this visit.

We had high hopes going in, but unfortunately, this visit fell short. The food itself was okay, nothing memorable, just standard fare without any standout flavors. What really affected the experience, though, was the lack of attentiveness. We had to ask for the dessert menu (which felt like an afterthought), and even then, it took ages for anyone to come back. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t great. With some improvements in service and attention to detail, it could be a much better experience. Rating: 3/5

Lovely restaurant / decor. Scotch egg was yummy. The roast dinner was nice but wasn’t quite hot enough. I asked for some hot gravy but it took about 10 mins to arrive and then it wasn’t hot. The roast potatoes were really nice but the carrots should have been roasted for longer as were a bit hard. Would be nice to have sides of red cabbage and cauliflower cheese available. And more veg as part of the roast dinner.

This was a visit for lunch on Easter Sunday; there were two of us. The restaurant was quite busy and we waited a long time for our food and the plates to be cleared. There just didn't seem enough staff who were serving and they didn't stop moving back and forth. All personnel were welcoming and friendly. This was a shame as the food was very good. We shared the Croquettes as a small taster before the main course; they were delicious, soft and cheesy. I chose the roast pork which was very good; the gravy was flavoursome and the Yorkshire pudding crisp. My sister had the burger and salad which she enjoyed. One curiosity was the small square of plasticised paper under the burger; she asked the waiter who explained it was there to keep the burger central on the plate... It was a very nice lunch but slow. We had no time commitments but I'd be nervous dining there pre-theatre.

It's basically expensive pub lunch although you can find much better and tastier food in a lunch. It was only 7pm and their signature desert bfg black forest was all gone. Staff kept coming to us to ask if everything was alright was a bit annoying since they didn't go to the other tables at all. Won't recommend.

Main -Trevors Chicken - the mushroom filling was delicious and perfectly executed, the chicken was amazing, white wine sauce complemented the chicken. Fish was top class. Dessert - Queen of Tarts - looked brilliant on the plate, lots of flavours that worked very well together. Daniel, our server was also great to us. By Rebecca ( age 10) part of a family dining experience who all enjoyed our meal.
