Friendly service, Connor was great, but the overall impression was of a business which is overstretched with trying to manage the restaurant and takeaway service with only one chef and in a super small space. Appreciate the food is mostly cooked fresh but we booked for 5pm and didn’t get out until 8.40pm which was not expected. Clear what the chef/owner is aspiring to achieve but sorry to say it fell short of expectations for us unfortunately. Most importantly the lack of space meant social distancing was very difficult to adhere to plus we had to ask for the table to be wiped when we were seated at our table-not good in these worrying times.
A lovely little bistro with friendly service and high quality food. Our first visit, but we will definitely be back.
This was our 5/6th time at Jasper's. Living 20 mile away it's always worth the travel. So much choice on Chef Ryan's menu board plus your Al la carte menu it's so hard to choose. You never wait to long for food and if you do it's definitely worth the wait. Great range of seafood and meat also don't be mistaken as it's advertised as a seafood bistro. I highly recommend the belly pork for a main, it was a melt in your mouth experience. Atmosphere is romantic in the evenings and day time is just as ambient. Would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family meal in the cosy environment! Thank you for taking care of us!
Jaspers is the epitome of a proper little restaurant. The kind of restaurant you find all over the Continent but rarely here in Britain. You can see the chef working away in the kitchen. All the food is prepared and cooked in the miniscule kitchen. It is pure magic, and they play some great music too!
Really good food and service
Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back. They even provided a bowl of water for my dog without being asked which was really appreciated!
A fine dining experience, wonderful food, well presented ,efficient staff.
We will revisit next time we are in Northumberland
Food tremendous but chilli crab soup lacked chilli and wasnt very flavourome
Quite simply a lovely meal. Not too sure how Ryan manages to cook for so many on his own yet stay so calm! The whole feel of the restaurant was great and I adored the music. We shall definitely be eating here again when we next visit Amble.
The food was excellent but this was sadly ruined by the lack of extractor fan in the kitchen. The poor ventilation caused the smoke and cooking fumes to be so bad that our eyes were watering. Of course our clothes and hair absolutely reeked once we left.
It’s such a pity because this ruined what would have otherwise been an exceptional evening with wonderful food and excellent service.
Great selection of dishes, cooked exceptionally well, lovely service. Thoroughly recommended
Food and service was very good all food freshly cooked and well presented .
This is a small restaurant, it has lovely cosy vibe feels like a little french bistro.
The menu had lots of interesting choices and a great specials board as well the food was excellent.
One of the best restaurants we have visited in the area , we will definitely be back
2nd visit to Jasper’s. Nice small bistro type restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Ryan works hard
In the open kitchen. Overall enjoyed our meal. Love the mussel starter which comes with a chunk of artisan bread. Opted for the harbour linguine for my main course this time. Nice flavours.
Dit it need the large crab claw - not for me.
Great menu, great service. Good value.
Husband said the steak was the best he’s had in a long time and the sea bass was perfect. We were surprised it wasn’t more expensive. Would go back on another holiday.
Excellent food in a lovely setting. Friendly staff, good atmosphere.
Great bouillabaise, lots of fish and shellfish (although I would have preferred it without potatoes), other dish was a risotto, also very nice and plenty. We will be back.
Excellent food and service as usual. Very nice squid to start with, the sea bream as the main course was cooked to perfection, and the raspberry bread and butter pudding - which I just about had room for - was the perfect ending. We have been here at least three or four times, and would come more often if we lived closer. The restaurant is a real find, and the food never disappoints.
Jasper's is one of the best places to eat in Amble and is much better than many places in Newcastle! We love it and will be back soon. The fixed price menu is amazing value!
Jaspers bistro is a star in Amble. The food is outstanding and the ambience is great. Ryan works hard to always think outside the box introducing all kinds of elements and treats to his service. Fabulous bread and olives as well as local artwork etc. Fun place for lunch and dinner.
What a great little bistro with a lovely intimate feeling. Service was first class and the quality of the food was amazing. Would definitely return and wold highly recommend to o others.
Absolutely loved it. Had the surprised joy of a private dining experience but were made to feel truly welcome. Selection was varied and tempting, food & drink was truly delicious, service first class. A memorable evening. We'll be back. Thank you
It was our first time to this restaurant and what a great little find. The food was extremely good (I had fish which was really fresh and was cooked beautifully.the ambience of the restaurant was nice with a lovely atmosphere would certainly visit again
Really enjoyed our meal. Food was excellent- good value and very friendly atmosphere
Such a friendly ambience! Food absolutely delicious! A little slow to be served but totally understandable as everything freshly cooked. Varied menu. A fab night. Thank you.
Warm intimate atmosphere. Gorgeous seafood. Need a reservation as small dining space.
Lovely caring waiting on team.
I would encourage people to visit Jaspers.its a nice restaurant .very much an individual enterprise by a local guy who knows how to cook - beautifully flavoured seafood risotto a highlight using local products.only reservation is that with one cook it did take a long while on a night when there were only three tables - wondered how it would be if full.service was very friendly one should add
We stay at a caravan in Amble Links throughout the year, and always try somewhere new to eat during our stay. This was out first time trying Jasper's as we were recommended by a family member.
It was beautiful, food was fresh and delicious, the presentation was excellent and the staff superb.
We called in on a Wednesday night and only dined with x2 other tables, who were happily chatting between them.
Lovely ambience even though the restaurant is small, we were never rushed, and actually dined for 2 hours! we asked for a wait between mains and desserts, and they were definitely worth waiting for.
The value for money is worth mentioning too, we both had x3 courses, mixed and matched off the special menu and also the Al A Carte menu, both had multiple drinks and it was only £60-£70!, would easily pay more for the meals we received.
Hats off to the chef who was lovely, cooked alone and introduced himself throughout the night to us and the other diners, the waitress was lovely and polite, nothing was too much trouble.
Will definitely be returning here next time we are in Amble, worth booking in advance too!
Well done guys, excellent job and may happy returning customer im sure :)
Superb food best scallops I have ever eaten , the food was of exceptionally high quality and good value would highly recommend
We were visiting Amble from Los Angeles, so we have access to a lot of fantastic restaurants at home. We were excited to hear that a great new place had opened in Amble. To be honest, we did not have high expectations (we know we are spoiled) . We couldn't get a table for Saturday (it is a small venue) so we went on a cold wet Wednesday and had the place to ourselves. The owner/ chef was like our personal chef for the evening and we had an excellent dinner! Started with a lovely charcuterie board, and then a terrific crab soup and a sea bass main course. Thank you for a lovely and delicious evening!
Superb food cooked as required by the best Chef in the North of England.
I have visited restaurants all over the North of England. Scotland and Northern Ireland as part of my job and I can state categorically that this Chef/Staff and Restaurant is one of the best.

Outstanding food in a lovely intimate environment, highly recommended.
All 4 of us were so impressed with the quality of the menu, food, service everything.
Food came so hot and fresh and everything was delicious. How jasper coped with a full restaurant so well I have no idea, he is very talented.
A very nice Gem for Amble food perfect everything was loved it very nice
Excellent food and service by professional owner chef.
Nice little restaurant would recommend to anyone who likes good sea food dishes. They don’t have a children’s menu but they had no problem creating two dishes to suit my children, would definitely go back.
The food was fresh, nicely prepared and delicious to eat. We meet the owner/chef and seems to be a lovely fellow. Overall, excellent experience.
Goodness me, how amazing. I'm loathe to recommend it in case I can't get a table again!
